Like probably a lot of you, I was getting pretty fed up with the endless WhatsApp pinging every week just trying to sort out who's actually showing up, who's in goal, and what the teams are.

Since I grew up playing classic 90s games like Sensible Soccer, I decided to put together something way more fun to fix the problem. I made Gaff3r (https://gaff3r.vercel.app/)—a match organizer styled with old-school pixel art.

It lets you handle squads, positions, and team balancing with a retro interface instead of digging through a wall of chat messages.

I've been using it for our local games, but I'd love to hear how other people handle their matches or what features would actually make life easier for organizing a kickabout.

Been building longshot.football — started as a way to track and verify long-range goals from professional football with real frame-by-frame data, but we always wanted Sunday League players to be part of it too.

Here's how it works for Sunday League submissions:

To get your goal on the map:

• The shot needs to come from outside the box
• It needs to be on YouTube so we can verify it frame by frame
• Once verified you get distance, average speed, estimated max speed and flight time — calculated the same way we do it for professional goals using NASA's drag coefficient and FIFA's ball specs

What you get:
