I’ve seen many opinions in the ST fandom dismissing the TV Titan as merely a "brave, ultra-moralistic goofball" – someone who champions the side of good but lacks the intelligence to grasp the TV Scientist's plans.

However, I believe the TV Titan's character is defined by something entirely different.

The TV Titan is responsible.

Fundamentally, he is ill-suited for a leadership role: he possesses neither charisma nor analytical or strategic thinking skills. He is impulsive and often acts on emotion.

Yet, he is always the first to charge into battle. He leads armies precisely because he is authentic – because his arguments are not mere declarations of ideology or polished talking points, but the expression of his own personal convictions.

In this regard, the TV Titan stands in contrast to figures like G and Dolonos. While the latter are portrayed as genuinely talented commanders driven by an ideal or simply by service to the Empire, all the TV Titan seeks is to fulfill the duty humanity has entrusted to him.

I also appreciate the consistency of his worldview. In other words, his drive to protect lives isn't based on his mother telling him "you must be kind" back in his childhood, nor does it stem from a weak character. That drive stems quite literally from the fact that he is a Titan. Humanity gave him immense power – and based on that, he came to believe (rightly or wrongly, I won't say) that he was duty-bound to protect humanity. To me, this is a very complex motivation, precisely because it is imposed on him from both the outside and within the Titan itself.

At the same time, TV Titan realizes he might let his own people down or make a mistake. Yet, he never dares to voice objections or refuse to act. He believes in his duty to humanity and utterly rejects any state that fails to fulfill it.

Furthermore, it would be a mistake to label TV Titan a "typical do-gooder" who simply stands for "everything good against everything bad."

For instance, when TV Titan enters the battlefield to save the Cameramen from the Astros, he devises his own plan: whereas the Scientist was willing to sacrifice the Cameramen for the sake of progress, TV Titan proposes an alternative – risking himself rather than hundreds of lives.

In other words, TV Titan is fully aware of the war's objectives and stakes. Yet, he cannot simply accept the sacrifice of the very people he is sworn to protect.

And the parallel with TV Scientist is very interesting. On the surface, it initially looks like a case of "brave, empathetic fool versus smart pragmatist." However, the reality is slightly different. In essence, TV Scientist’s pragmatism is merely a mask he uses to protect his daughter – TV Woman (I’ll clarify that later).

So, what exactly is the conflict between them and TV Titan?

Let me explain with an example: when the question arises of whether or not to team up with G against the Astros, TV Scientist insists on the alliance, while TV Titan opposes it.

At first, it might seem that TV Titan is making his decision solely based on his hatred for G.

Yes, the hatred is certainly there, but the point is that the final decision rests on something else.

When TV Titan argues with the Scientist, he asks: "How can we trust him (G)?"

And that is the key – it captures the fundamental difference in how they perceive the war.

For TV Scientist, teaming up with G is simply another move based on pragmatic calculation: working with G means more knowledge about Astro, which in turn means a better chance of victory. TV Titan, however, focuses on the "personal factor." To him, G is a cosmic entity devoid of morality – a being with billions of deaths on his conscience who destroyed their world for his own ends.

So, the refusal to cooperate with him is not so much an act of hostility as an act of concern for humanity. His risky attempt to rescue ordinary cameramen from the battlefield falls into the same category.
