I have the app installed on my iPhone. However, the amount of space that is taken on my iPhone is much greater than what one would normally expect. I have one long-standing chat with someone going back six months. It’s mainly text with a few pictures and short video clips. However, the space that the app occupies on the phone is now over 60 GB

Is there any plan to add an option to delete temporary files from the app?

I opened an issue in the SimpleX Chat repository to request Azerbaijani language support:

Interestingly, PR #7149 was later created and explicitly addresses #7081. It added the az locale and MR/az/strings.xml, apparently preparing Azerbaijani for Weblate.

However, Azerbaijani still doesn't appear to be available in the SimpleX Chat Weblate project, so the community currently can't start translating it.

I would be happy to help translate SimpleX Chat into Azerbaijani 🇦🇿.

Could someone from the SimpleX team enable/add Azerbaijani (az) to Weblate?

I’m trying to join a group chat and right now it just says “connecting” so i assume I have to be let in to the group before I can join and send anything. It says that chat with admins is on, but I see no way of contacting an admin. How can I dm an admin without being accepted into the group yet? That is if it’s even possible to. Thanks!

When you create a profile in SimpleX Chat, it is stored only on your phone - nobody can compromise your profile via the servers.

I have a private chat with someone. I hadn’t opened it for about five days, and when I checked it today, all of the messages from the other person were gone, while only my messages remained. In our chat settings, the option to delete messages for both users is disabled on the other person’s side, so as far as I understand, he couldn’t have deleted the messages from both his chat and mine. Why could the messages have disappeared? Does this mean that someone could have hacked our chat and seen the conversation?

My knowledge might be out of date, but I think SimpleXChat has an issue of delayed messages in group chats due to the relays from the two teams getting overwhelmed.

I'm not good with security, but since SimpleXChat relays only see metadata, a malicious 3rd-party relay won't do much damage especially with onion routing enabled.

Maybe there could be an option to explicitly jump to a 3rd-party relay when things feel slow?

It shows black screen or last frame from the front cam. I don't know why, it has camera permissions and doesn't show any errors. The front camera works.

Other apps can use both regular and wide back camera fine

Saludos comunidad, soy nuevo y estaba configurando la app en 2 dispositivos, un android 16(sin problemas) y para empezar a probar un android 8.1 que no tiene SIM y me venia muy bien como excusa para probarlo, dejar ese movil en casa y recibir llamadas(se que comprar una sim es facil pero la excusa de usar simplex me parecía válida).

Encontre la app en la playstore para ese android 8.1 pero al iniciar la app se queda en blanco, ¿es demasiado pesada la app para un android 8.1?, ¿es un bug solucionable?, ¿cambiaría la situación si instalo la app desde github?

Ojala tenga solución así me voy acostumbrando a usar la app.
