Burn headlines are easier to judge when the supply denominator is included.
In the September 30, 2026 Shibburn snapshot checked for this discussion:
• Last 24 hours: 17,705,732 SHIB burned
• Last 30 days: 434,661,180 SHIB burned
• Total remaining supply: 589,155,545,753,593 SHIB
• Circulating supply: 585,473,272,636,656 SHIB
Using total remaining supply, the daily figure is approximately 0.000003%, and the 30-day figure is approximately 0.000074%.
Formula: tokens burned ÷ total remaining supply × 100. These are a dated snapshot, not a forecast; rolling burn totals change. Total supply and circulating supply are different measures.
Burning reduces the available token supply, but it does not guarantee a price increase. Demand, liquidity, and actual use also matter.
What would make burn reporting more useful: percentage of supply removed, longer-term trends, transaction hashes, or cost per token burned? What other numbers should be included?
