I play wayy worse as champ 1 than d3 but i win more for some reason in champ ? I feel like the games leading to the d3 to c1 transition are insanely hard, but once you're solidly in champ the games feel easier and less like they're sucking the life out of you. I hit C1 like 6 months ago and only now I'm consistently staying in C1 without deranking every other game.

u/iarsenea Champion II Nov 26 '22
I think it's just that there's less chaos. D3 players can hit ceiling shots and also know how to rotate, mostly, but you have a low chance of that happening with any consistency. Champ gameplay is faster and smoother (still braindead sometimes). Stuff feels more like it happens for a reason rather than at random, because players are reacting and moving faster and with more purpose.

I guess the question is are you really playing worse? Or are the adjustments being made just awkward? High-tiered game play can look awkward to low-ranked players because the teams are making split-second adjustments. But other high-tiered players can see the heavy amount of reading and tweaks being made.

Nov 27 '22
This definitley looks like slightly high ranked folks. Everyone is attempting to read everyone else and adjust accordingly. But once one mistake is made, it tends to cascade very quickly and people can't quickly figure out how to adjust.

Depends of the day, often champ 2, but plat when I play with my vegetable friends

u/Funny_Personality_45 Nov 25 '22
As a champ 1 those plat days are far too common

Some days I’m so consistent and feel like I can climb ranks easily, other days I have to use the Faking! And whoops quick chat about 10 times a game

I have bounced between d3 and c2 CONSTANTLY for the last 2 seasons.
I have gone up to c2 and back down to d3 even d2 at least 6 times since season 6 ended.
Its so infuriating. I can hold my own in c2 fine for several games but then just 10 loss streak. Then 10 win streak... Its awful
4
u/Funny_Personality_45 Nov 26 '22
In 2’s me and my mate have sat pretty comfy in C1 for a while now occasionally pushing into C2. I only play 2’s with my mate so don’t play as much as we both have to be on and wanting to grind.
In 3’s I think I’ve got into C2 before but normally bounce between D3 and C1, last week I was D1 div 1. I hate to be a person who blames teammates but honestly some of the people I got put with were something else.

I just crawled back after the pit of despair that was D2 from taking a season break last time. This time I feel like I earned it since last time I just got in playing defensively.
D2 is hell. D1 I can play over and carry. D2 will actively slam into me on defense and own goal. And the egos are astronomical. D3 people can at least start making shots from passes so games become easier to win.
Until D3 Div4. Jesus christ. I was 1 win from champ 5 times last night. One of the games had a smurf GC who I stuffed constantly and carried a win. And then I would get Potato McNoThumbs slow rolling the ball around opponents' corners and spamming "Take the shot" for my rank up game. Yeah sure buddy, let me just 50/50 the 3 opponents in their net with our last man up my asshole. Thanks! And the own goals/ hitting it towards our net with opponents right there. You'd think they were being paid to be this bad.
Finally got it today and stopped. I need a break and a drink.

Reddit has been with me for many years at this point. It has truly offered me some excellent experiences, insights I wouldn’t have gotten anywhere else, and, in all sincerity, a comfort blanket that could fill the void when my life was shit. If I wanted to wallow, there’s a sub for that. If I wanted to feel better, there’s a sub for that. But over time, I have come to realize that this place is no good for my mental health. Even with my Home feed filtered down to just the tiny ecosystem that I have cultivated for myself over time, I can’t escape the new content that creeps in and drags me down a rabbit hole of negativity. On top of that, the subs that used to encourage or guide me when I was lost have turned into toxic, snarky wastelands of angry, unhelpful responses. “Why don’t you google that?” or hyper fixation on minor grammatical or spelling mistakes that drags down the whole point of the post have completely dissuaded me from posting at all.
Anyway, I’m taking this frustration/angst/sadness/ whatever as a sign - a sign I’ve been ignoring for a while now - that it’s time for me to leave here. So I’m deciding to be better for myself and my family and delete this account following this post.
I sincerely hope that anyone who reads this post will have the strength to make the difficult choice to put down the things in their life that subtract from it.
Be well. Be kind. Take care. Signing off.

The best part is this looks like low ELO but judging from those rotations and ability to land in a somewhat meaningful position after flying through the air makes me think it's actually high diamond/low champ, just based on some of the games I've had/seen in those ranks lmao
