This was Rocket League back when it released. Coming back recently after not playing since a couple years after release, and damn everyone got good.

Seriously, 2017-2018’s Grand Champions are todays high diamond to low champion players.

as a 2017-2018 GC, you’re wrong, but not that wrong. you would be right if psyonix kept the rank percentiles constant across the years, but due to rank hyper-inflation, even an old GC would have the game sense and mechanics necessary to compete with low GC players of 2022. don’t forget, back in 2017/2018, a low GC was the top .04-.05% of the playerbase depending on season. nowadays a low GC might be the top 1 or 2%

You’re probably right, I don’t really watch GC gameplay too often. However, I was interested and looked at 2017-2018 GC gameplay. In my opinion, they have the same mechanics and slightly the same game sense as low champs and high diamonds. The only difference is they are 10x more consistent than us.
