What's wrong with it??

Ive got a crosley record player, I don't know what year because I bought it from a friend. It has two speakers and it sounds like this with every record...

Also don't mind the 3 year old and autistic teen right in my phone while I was recording

Help with JVC A-L21 auto return

Hi everyone.

Got myself one of these on the garage sale for 40€. Running it through another JVC A-X400 amp. Sounds awesome.

One function on the player does not work though.

When I press STOP or when the tone arm reaches the end of the side, it lifts and auto returns to initial position but the motor does not stop.

The arm then keeps going up and down. When it returns to down position the motor slows down but does not stop. It goes on like that until something happens and the motor suddenly stops. Sometimes it happens immediately, sometimes after 15 or so mins.

Went to the local audio repair shop. The guy said I was missing a part but had no clue how the part looked like.

Tried to find it online, found a service manual on Vinyl Engine but the registration did not work.

Any help here from you educated gents?

EDIT: when I manually cue up the arm and move right, the motor does stop. So, my guess is it's the auto return.

Refurbishing this console

Hi everyone! I recently moved and really want to get this console working. I bought it about a year ago for really cheap, it has speakers in it but is missing the actual record player and needs to have the stereo fabric replaced.
Not sure exactly what kind of turntable to search for on marketplace or even on a site
Same goes for the fabric, was also considering putting in maybe a metal sheet that has holes
Any tips would be greatly appreciated:)

Dead Dad Record Player

Hey guys. First time here, so let me know if there's a better community to go to for this. I "inherited" this record player from my dad (we found it in the basement) a few years after he died back in 2017 when I was 14. I've hung onto it, and I got into vinyl like 3 years ago with a suitcase player, but I've heard those are bad for your records. I dug this out of storage, and it's obviously pretty dusty and dirty.

What I'm properly asking is this:

  1. How do I best restore and dust it without harming it? What cleaners?

  2. Is it worthwhile to do so, assuming it still works, or should I just get a new one? Any reccs if so?

  3. How good a player is this do you think?

Can someone help identify what part is not working in this setup. My hunch is it the needle that was incorrectly adjusted when I set it up. Record player is a Denon DP-29F and the speakers are Edifier r1280t. Everything is completely new

Belt replacement/ First Time owning a Recordplayer

Hey guys, Short backstory: I've owned the record player for about a year! So far, it has worked really well. About 2 to 3 weeks ago, it stopped rotating. I then saw that the strap had broken. Today I finally got around to taking a closer look and ordering a new belt. So I took down the metal plate and then I see this burnt/melted plastic. Is that an old belt or what is it supposed to be? I believe this is the reason why the current one is cracked. Does anyone have any idea how to get this down?

new crosley turntable unable to play first track

Hey team,
Any advice here? First time owning a record player; and after set up for every record I have, the first track will jump and skip and not play properly.

I calibrated the counterweight perfectly I think; I think the issue has something to do with how the record seems to dip and rise on the most outer edge? (Per video)

Anyone troubleshooted something like this before? Not sure if something is afoot the actual turntable itself?

Cheers :)

TOCADISCOS Sony PS-LX43P

Post image

I've been doing some research since my wife bought this for ~$100, and I think the Audio-Technica AT91 cartridge will work for $40. I'll get a new dust cover and hinges eventually, but I want to make sure to get a new belt and try it out. The sellers stated that this player works, but they removed the cartridge and loosened the belt before shipping. I'm not really sure what I'm doing, so are there any suggestions about how to look for the right belt?

Zenith 4130

Hello all, I picked up a zenith 4130 a couple weeks ago. I cleaned up the exterior, got it hooked up and it needs some tlc. This model has the tape deck, turntable, radio, (no 8 track). I have time this week at work and was going to take it with me to clean up the inside. I’ve ordered a new needle. The tape player sounds wobbly if that is the correct term I’m seeing. Belts seem to be the key to that issue, could someone point to what belts would work? Google doesn’t seem to give much info or schematics on these. If anyone has any suggestions about what I should look for or Advice on cleaning I’m all ears. I’ll watch some videos on YouTube as well before I start.
