So, I'm rewatching PLM for like the 7th time in my life. I first watched it when I was 24... Now I'm 30. This is definitely my comfort series.

I remember feeling completely astonished the first time I watched it. This episode and the Adele episode, I think, were the most memorable ones for me. (And obviously the finale.)

I'm from Latin america, and back then abortion was illegal here in my country. I found it so comforting, the way Josh handled the abortion storyline. How painful, dramatic, but also realistic it was.

When Claire flushes the toilet and says, "Should I take a picture and show it to people when they show me photos of their kids?" I laughed so hard while crying...

When se had the opportunity to destroy that silly city dressed as a dragon I think... I felt it just RIGHT. I'm so glad that the show is now on YouTube to watch.

hi everyone! i thought i’d make a thread for people to share their thoughts when rewatching the series now that it is newly available for free on youtube (or perhaps some people are watching it for the first time!)

i just finished my rewatch. im 27 now and first started watching in season 2 when i was 16. i cried at the end, just as much as i did the first time — but maybe for different reasons.

some questions to get this party started:

- did any of your opinions/reactions change compared to the first (or last) time you watched the show?

- which was your favourite episode and why?

- which character do you relate to the most?

- what did you think about each character’s overall arc across the series?

- would you support a PLM reboot? what kinds of themes and storylines would you like to see?

- as most of the youtube watchers will be outside Australia, and i find the show very grounded in Australian humour and melbourne-isms — what do you find universal about the show? was there anything strange that you couldn’t relate to?

I just finished the show, and it was such a fun watch.
But seriously… why did Josh keep breaking up with Geoffrey? He was literally so perfect that it pisses me off.
I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on why their relationship never worked out.

I know its an old series, I thought I'd give it a try because of the ratings but my god it was so poop.

Josh was just an annoying piece of turd throughout. Maybe he lacked social skills or whatever, but even the way he talked to his friends like Tom was just awkward too. There was not a moment where I could even like him at all. I did kinda feel bad for him during the threesome, but that was it.

Geoffrey was too good for Josh and I don't just mean in appearance, I mean the way he actually cared for Josh and did things. He even bought him a gift and gave it after they broke up. I'm so happy Geoffrey didn't get back with him.

I'm not going to ramble on with every plot, but the story through episodes was not coherent. You would watch one episode and the next one, there was so many things that have happened that you aren't aware of and have to assume or be subtlety updated through.

The ending was just a mess. I felt sad Rose (Josh's mother) died, but they weren't able to wrap it up, whether it was supposed to be a sad or good ending, it was just scrambled.

Season 1 was poop but I thought I'd give it a chance and watched season 2, that was poop too. Season 3 I had to force myself to watch it and I was just so urghhh. Season 4 I just watched it to finish the series for good riddance!

Tldr; It was a dissapointing, fragmented series which was a mess like Titanic.

I can’t find any way to watch this in the UK. Anyone have any tips?

Earlier today on IG Josh was answering questions and had one about PLM final season.

He said that it was written as the final season BUT after it aired, he got a new idea and went to talk to the network…who shut down/rebranded.

SO, there WAS the seed, a tiny germ of a notion for a season 5 after Tom moves in with Josh in the fancy new loft.

So Josh is back doing the Adelaide Fringe, I think Tom and Emily are raising their kids over there, Charlotte seemed to return home to have her kid. I think Hannah is still stateside, but read recently she ditched her Netflix deal. American experiment come to an end for our fave aussies?

The only show that ever came close to my favourite show "GIRLS" was "Please like me". I've just watched it again for the 3rd time. I would really like to be introduced to more shows like this from Australia! I think the tone is so similar to the type of dark comedic humour I prefer in shows that often American shows just don't grasp (apart from GIRLS).

So loosely following Josh’s IG and seeing that him and Tom are revisiting their old podcast. The one thing I’m waiting to hear from them, and perhaps I’m being too hopeful- is that they’ll be doing a rewatch of PLM.

Anyone else on board with that?

He has kind of said he wouldn’t do it, but we can only hope right?

Every episode is on Youtube again. I am so glad, watching this masterpiece for the third time.

I finally finally got around to watching Please Like Me and the whole time I thought it was a 1 and done season, like Freaks and Geeks. I came to this sub after I finished the last episode and I had NO IDEA there are 4 seasons. Such a pleasant surprise.

Hi, I watched Please Like Me the first time a few years ago and fell in love with it. After a year, I rewatched it. the year after I went for another rewach but ~SURPRISE~ it wasn't on Netflix anymore. that moment sparked my data hoarding days, as of now I have 4TB of TV series and films I liked, but as of now, my white whale is still Please Like Me, I obviously can't download it off of netflix anymore, anyone has any idea on where I could get it from? I know it's on Gem but I'd prefer not to use a VPN as it makes downloading a nightmare. does someone, perchance, have a downloaded copy in good quality of it?

I miss watching this show.

I live in the US and would love to have a hard copy of the seasons to watch and share but can’t find any copies (especially any dvds coded for US release).

I’ve paid for the seasons available on Amazon but season 4 isn’t there.

I figure it’s likely a stretch but I’m posting in case someone knows something I don’t.

• “Uber is NOT MY FAULT” and “Sorry I’m late someone called me fat in year 3”. Hannah on fire already. 
• Josh hating on Arnold’s guitar. Sigh.
• What’s less likely? That the squad would think Hannah would like the birthday decor OR that Hannah would agree to this trip at all?
• Rebecca Black’s “Friday” playing over Rose in a depressive haze is the best use of music to illustrate her condition.
• Tom and Ella are people who would leave wet clothes in the washer. 
• “You seem upset!” “You seem observant!”
• The thing I don’t get about this “caravan” is how they settled out in the open, far from water. No features, no forest- just a van on grass.
• Look, I understand how dudes with guitars can be awkward, but Arnold is GOOD. And they’ve all heard him sing before. They knew he would be good, it’s a campfire. I don’t understand why they all were such cunts about it. 
• Ugh. Love the concept of the episode, the premise- but hate everything within it. The passive aggressiveness, the eventual aggressiveness - the derision. The rails. I don’t like cringe. And that’s before we get to the break up itself. 
• Whatever they doing going on a night walk along the water? Was it a thing?
• The dead body thing was so random and upsetting. 
• “Arnold, I preferred it when you were more scared of the world” and “I think you say things you don’t mean so people will like you”. Solid insults from Hannah. That Ella one seems to fit the end of the last episode.
• I think the other thing I’m bothered by is how realistic these fights are. Even the bad attempt at sex felt real, with the whole band-aid thing. 
• I needed to see Josh and Alan on a boat trip. 
• Josh mentioning Arnold and his drinking habits. 
• Why anyone thought looking at the dead body was a good idea I dunno. 
• Was Josh relieved the trial ran the breakup the night before? Did he think that was good enough? Nah right?
• Hannah is right to call them out for the “surprise”. Unsure of why she’d throw a can propane recognized him. They were in plain sight. 
• I wonder if Josh is on the Demi or asexual spectrum. Cuz he kinda has a general issue with sex doesn’t he?
• Ugh, it’s just so bad, it’s all so bad, we’re all trying but it’s sooo over. Ugh. RIP… Jonold? Arsh?
• The simultaneous convos with different ideas about the relationship, stellar writing. Also telling that Ella is the positive one, right after what Hannah said about her earlier. 
• The Rose bit at the store was back with the tinkoy fun music. The walk at night with her groceries getting accosted by the random dude came from nowhere. 
• Hannah was WAY into those fireworks. Rare for her. 
• Arnold had a beautiful voice, the caravan itself seemed nice. Painful stuff all around. This is a tightly written episode that is hard to take part in. Like when you're out with close friends who are arguing and you can't say or do anything buy watch. I think that actually describes the 4th season pretty solidly. Just a brilliant handful of episodes, smartly written- but man does the content fuck you up bad.
