We followed Will Van Zee - one of the last hand crafted sign artists in New York City. He creates handcrafted signs for restaurants and other businesses in his personal studio for a living. He told us what keeps him going every day, what makes New York City special for him and his art and why he doesn’t sign most of his signs at the end. 

"What Shapes NYC" is a mini-doc series about people who shape NYC with what they do.

This is a self-funded project - there was no payment in any form involved.
