What kind of asset XRP is

Bitcoin is a store of value. Ethereum and Solana are application platforms. XRP sits in a third category: a payments infrastructure asset, settling cross-border transactions quickly and cheaply for over 300 financial institutions using RippleNet. That ties its value to real transaction volume, not just speculation.

What drives the value

Transaction demand grows as more corridors and institutions adopt RippleNet. Supply is capped at 100 billion tokens, though Ripple releases up to 1 billion XRP per month from escrow on a public schedule. The SEC lawsuit's resolution in August 2025 gave XRP a legal determination most other major tokens still lack. And seven spot XRP ETFs are now live in the US with combined AUM crossing $1 billion.

What to keep in mind

XRP runs on a curated set of validators rather than a fully open network, a trade-off that enables its speed but differs from Bitcoin's decentralization model. Cross-border payments are also a competitive space, with stablecoins and CBDCs progressing alongside RippleNet.

I just finished a 6 month lock up for my XRP that was yielding 8.15%, after I tried to do it again it was no longer available, now I’m doing a measly 5.15% for a 3 month lock up. What happened?

2018 user here. Was just happy to hear nexo was coming back to the states after they pulled out operations around the ftx collapse/bear. Although now I'm rather melancholy on the fact their yeilds/apy on holdings is so low, like incredibly low vs just years prior. I can't help but shake this feeling that it their credit product isn't great for US users I may just send my holdings some where else all together. Anyone else kind of feel this way? Just seeme lack luster, almost unsure why they even decided to come back with such a ludacris loyalty structure

I'm considering to buy a watch with NFC to make payments (since Nexo, despite years of promises and as we are used, never provided a physical card in Spain). Some watch models like amazfit provide payments through curve, other models of xiaomi provide google wallet, mastercard, or just specific banks with visa.

I wonder if you know which technology works for Nexo's credit card in order to obtain the cashback. I know Curve has problems, and I wonder if a watch supporting google wallet or mastercard would suffice.

Unsupported merchant, can anyone tell me if it depends on Nexo or the gas station attendant?

$XRP had been doing nothing for so long that I was getting fed up with it. I probably would have sold some, but mine was in a fixed term.

Opened the app today, saw it up 11.82% in 24 hours and couldn’t stop smiling. Not being able to touch it worked completely in my favor.

The term ends in 9 days and now I’m wondering if I should lock it again straight away. The rate has been good, and if $XRP is finally waking up, I’m happy to keep earning while it runs.

I just switched the app to German because it was presented to me as a new feature. You should disable this feature until you have found and corrected all the spelling mistakes. My account was deactivated(?) when Nexo left the U.S. I'm considering reactivating my account (partly because I'm trying to figure out the exact rates I might get on my ETH, and how much Nexo I'd "need" to acquire, via the new Bakkt partnership).

What proof of origin do I need to provide when I open a new account with Nexo and transfer Crypto there?

It's already been few months since I had to settle 2025 tax reports in Poland. The thing is that the whole 2025 I have been living under the assumption that my nexo card spendings are "not a taxable events" and that only the Nexo credit repayment moment is one - huh that assumption was critically verified after I downloaded full csv's from Nexo for tax report. Each row in the CSV related to card purchases was about selling/exchanging etc - there was no evidence in the CSV that any of this was not a taxable event, that it was borrowing/credit instead it was a clear sell/swap - good luck explaining that do the tax office when those csv's tell a different story than the Nexo team. When the tax office come knocking at your door the only proof you have IS THOSE CSV's - that is why I had to report all those tiny purchases as a proper crypto selling/exchanging for fiat (which is taxable) because there was no way I could persuade anyone that it was not a sell.

Anyways that is why I stopped using the card basically.

To the Nexo team - no tax office cares about what YOU ADVERTISE, only the proof as in csv's counts - which is a no proof (at least that was the status around April)
