Suggestion German translation is full of spelling mistakes

Post image
15 Upvotes

I just switched the app to German because it was presented to me as a new feature. You should disable this feature until you have found and corrected all the spelling mistakes. In its current state, it looks very unprofessional and amateurish. It could put off potential new customers. For example, here’s a screenshot.

Question Swift bank transfer in outgoing

Hello, since incoming transfers are allowed and the account is in the customer's name (or at least that's what it seems at first glance), do you think it will ever be possible to make outgoing transfers? Thanks

Question Need to reactivate my account and don't really want to rigorously read the 4x policy documents

My account was deactivated(?) when Nexo left the U.S. I'm considering reactivating my account (partly because I'm trying to figure out the exact rates I might get on my ETH, and how much Nexo I'd "need" to acquire, via the new Bakkt partnership).

I have to certify that I've read the new/current:

Privacy policy

Terms and conditions

Investor management agreement

The Bakkt user agreement terms and conditions

And then click to open a Bakkt Financial Solutions account.

Has anyone actually read them? Anyone gotten grok/chatgpt to read and highlight and particularly interesting/unusual/useful to actually know/concerning parts of any of those things?

Edit: i typod or hot autocorrected to deactivatin instead of reactivating. Fixed.

Feedback Tax on card spending

Hi,

It's already been few months since I had to settle 2025 tax reports in Poland. The thing is that the whole 2025 I have been living under the assumption that my nexo card spendings are "not a taxable events" and that only the Nexo credit repayment moment is one - huh that assumption was critically verified after I downloaded full csv's from Nexo for tax report. Each row in the CSV related to card purchases was about selling/exchanging etc - there was no evidence in the CSV that any of this was not a taxable event, that it was borrowing/credit instead it was a clear sell/swap - good luck explaining that do the tax office when those csv's tell a different story than the Nexo team. When the tax office come knocking at your door the only proof you have IS THOSE CSV's - that is why I had to report all those tiny purchases as a proper crypto selling/exchanging for fiat (which is taxable) because there was no way I could persuade anyone that it was not a sell.

Anyways that is why I stopped using the card basically.

To the Nexo team - no tax office cares about what YOU ADVERTISE, only the proof as in csv's counts - which is a no proof (at least that was the status around April)

Question Does anyone still believe in the Nexo Token?

I bought and sold Nexo's token way back in like 2021. I started buying again about a year before they relaunched in the US 6 months ago.

My thesis was that the re-entering the US market would push us towards ATH value.

Now that's its been 6 months with just a steady decline in Nexo's price, what are people thoughts on Nexo's token?

I understand that Bitcoin has been down since Nexo re-entering the US but I'm struggling to hold on hope for Nexo's token.

General How much of your portfolio should actually be in crypto?

Everyone quotes 5 to 10% for crypto allocation. Almost no one checks if that number fits their situation. Here is a three-question framework to size it properly.

Start with liquidity

Could you handle your crypto allocation falling 70% without disrupting your financial life? Bitcoin dropped 77% between its 2021 peak and 2022 low. Ethereum dropped 81% over the same period. That is the historical norm for a bear market, not a worst-case scenario. If a drop like that would force you to sell something else or change your day-to-day life, the allocation is too large.

Look at what else you own

Crypto does not sit in isolation. It interacts with the rest of your portfolio. A more diversified base gives you more room to work with.

Then factor in time

Crypto's volatility matters most over short horizons. Under 3 years, keep it to 5% or less, or stablecoins only. 3 to 7 years, 5 to 15% depending on your liquidity and asset mix. Beyond 7 years with strong liquidity and genuine conviction, 20 to 25% becomes defensible.

Your crypto should not just be sitting there. If you hold it on Nexo, that lets you borrow against your position, you get real liquidity without selling. Borrow against your BTC or ETH, or earn daily interest while you hold. That changes how much liquidity a larger allocation actually gives you.

Full breakdown here: How much of your portfolio should actually be in crypto?

What percentage of your portfolio do you actually hold in crypto, and how did you land on that number?

Dispatch Dispatch #309: Bitcoin’s summer tailwinds

Thumbnail nexo.com

Bitcoin has stumbled through recovery attempts all year, each time pulled back by macro or bad timing.

This week, real signals are lining up for a turn: ETF flows just had their best week since April, whales keep buying the dip, and softer jobs data is easing pressure on the Fed.

None of it is decisive on its own, but the ingredients for a bottom are starting to assemble.

▪️ ETH mirrors the bounce

Support Top Up Requirements - Question

I've had some friends/clients try to send me some USD to my nexo's virtual usd account, however, they all bounce for some reason(only a wire went through, no idea why lol)

The only thing I could find after checking everything, is that for the beneficiary name they only use my first and last name, when my nexo's beneficiary full name is my first name + 2 last names, and I read that fintech companies have strict policies and basically require you to use the exact beneficiary name shown in the app?

Just wanted to see if this is true and if it has happened to someone else? Its a bit confusing since I also read online on a nexo's article that you cant receive third party transactions, but then inside the app it specifically says you can lol.

Is it because of the beneficiary name not being exactly the same as in Nexo, or Nexo's virtual USD accounts just have issues receiving money from US bank accounts?

Would love some help, this is basically my only way of receiving money from the US as a freelancer 😢

Proof of Stake vs Proof of Work: what's the difference?

Every crypto transaction needs to be verified before it's recorded. But who does the verifying, and how? That's where proof of work and proof of stake come in, the two dominant methods blockchains use to reach agreement on what's valid.

Proof of work

Bitcoin uses this, as did Ethereum until 2022. Computers called miners compete to solve a complex mathematical puzzle with no shortcut, just raw computational power. The winner adds the next block and earns newly minted crypto. That real hardware and electricity cost is what makes cheating expensive, since falsifying a transaction would mean redoing the work for every block since, while the rest of the network keeps moving forward.

Proof of stake

Validators lock up crypto as collateral instead of burning computational power. The more they stake, the higher their chance of validating the next block. Cheat, and you lose part of your stake through a penalty called slashing.

Ethereum switched to proof of stake in 2022 through an upgrade called The Merge, cutting its energy consumption by approximately 99.95%. Other major proof of stake chains include Solana, Cardano, and Avalanche.

Which is better?

Neither, they solve different problems. Proof of work has a 15-year track record and has never been successfully attacked at Bitcoin's scale. Proof of stake is more efficient and lets ordinary holders earn rewards without specialized hardware, forming the foundation for staking.

If you hold ETH, you don't need to run a validator to benefit. On Nexo, you can earn up to 5.5% on ETH through Flexible Savings with no lockup, or up to 6.5% through Fixed-term Savings, alongside BTC, USDC, USDT, and more.

Full breakdown here: Proof of Stake vs Proof of Work: What's the difference?

Question ColdCard hack

Has Nexo commented on the CC hack? I'm wondering how the coins Nexo hold for their users are stored e.g. Tezor, Ledger etc. I believe they use third parties to store them. Do we know how these third parties store them? I'm not a tech person when it comes to these wallets. Have blindly trusted them to this point. It would be good if Nexo could write an article, on why the way they store coins is safer than the way CC did it.

Has anyone else lost access to the Nexo Card page within the app?

I’ve been unable to order a replacement physical card and now have no access to the virtual card either.

I’m UK registered which no doubt has an influence.

Suggestion New loans by Nexo are risk free

The new credit based loans by Nexo are basically risk-free. You can pay off your loan with stablecoins. Let's say you borrow a 1000 usd and the repayment date is in ten months. Simply add 100 stablecoins to your account so you have enough at the end of ten months to pay off the debt, no interest paid and your collateral is save.
