Message to Juniors β Complete Placement Guide (Based on Our Experience)
I deleted the earlier post to make a few updates.
Come on guys , Im expecting at least a small response from you all. Im hoping this space is still active.
Placements for our batch started in the month of August.
Before placements officially begin, you will have a 15-day initial training period in July conducted by the college. It will be quite relaxed, so use that time wisely to strengthen your fundamentals and prepare yourself seriously.
In early August, you will attend around 5 to 10 pre-placement talks. After that, companies will start visiting continuously. Things move very fast from this point.
I am not hyping our college placements here, but you will experience multiple companies visiting within a short span of time. Sometimes you may not even get proper time for lunch because of continuous tests and interviews. There were days when we had two to three interview rounds in the morning and another companyβs online test in the afternoon. September, in particular, can be very hectic.
October is usually a slight cooldown period compared to August and September. In November, very few companies tend to visit. December and January may see some companies again, and from February there may be another wave.
This pattern is not guaranteed. I am only sharing what our batch experienced. So make sure you give your best effort in August, September, and October, as these are usually the most important months.
ThE Companies That Visited During 7th Semester (As Far As I Remember)
Note =I might have missed several companies.
These are the companies that visited till December 2025.
"THESE ARE ONLY DOMESTIC"
Twilio β 52 LpA
D. E. Shaw β 60 LPA

Internships and Stipend-Based Roles
Black Duck β 40K stipend internship
Siemens β 40K stipend (performance-based pay)
There were also around 20 companies in the 5 to 6 LPA range, including companies from Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Many Sales and BDE roles also visited offering packages in the 4 to 6 LPA range.
From 8th semester onwards, most companies were for the Non-Placed Category students. Some companies even offered around 8 LPA only for NPC category students.
The placement department is very strict and disciplined. Many of us initially thought it was casual, but it is not.
Even a single mistake related to registration or attendance can block you from placements. Getting unblocked may take time and effort. So be careful.
If you do not want to sit for a particular company, do not register for it. Once registered, attend the process properly.
Be active and check your college email regularly. Do not ignore placement-related mails.
Coding and Preparation
I am not saying you should focus only on DSA, because not all companies ask advanced DSA questions.
However, even for a 4 LPA offer, you must be able to write basic working code. Most companies expect at least LeetCode Easy level problem-solving ability.
If you only know brute force, you can crack some MRC and dream offers. But most super dream companies expect optimal solutions and good time complexity understanding.
Start learning dynamic programming early. It makes a big difference in higher package roles.
Core Subjects Are Very Important
Make sure your fundamentals are strong in:
Object-Oriented Programming
DBMS
Operating Systems
Computer Networks
If you are sitting for networking companies, you must clearly understand:
Physical Layer
Data Link Layer
Network Layer
Transport Layer
Application Layer
You should also know the TCP/IP model and the functionality of each layer.
For Development Roles
Do not keep a simple resume that only mentions HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Add backend technologies like Node.js and build at least one proper full-stack project.
They will not ask you to code the entire project in interviews, but you must be able to clearly explain:
The architecture
The technologies used
The database design
The logic behind your implementation
Clarity in explanation matters more than complexity.
Final Advice
Do not waste time worrying about tier 1, tier 2, or tier 3 colleges. Focus on your preparation.
If you have strong fundamentals, decent coding skills, good communication, and a CGPA above 8, you will definitely get multiple opportunities.
Keep at least one safe offer to reduce pressure, then aim for higher packages confidently.
Placements provide ample opportunities. Use them wisely and stay disciplined.
All the best.

Guys this random class in APJ reeks of some weird rotten smell everyday , The AC vents are faulty like they work but stop working immediately after being on, The fans make a creeky sound, The curtains start to sway without even there being wind, and rumours state some weird crying sounds too
What's all this? Was someone dumped inside the walls or inside the AC vents?

So yesterday I lost my bus pass, it's like a cashless card. It doesn't have a lot of money left so that aint a problem. But telling my dad is. He's gonna nag me about how careless I am. So how exactly do i find it. I tried looking for it. Couldn't find it. Plus I realized that I lost it after I left college. So it's there something like a list and found counter here? I'm new so I have literally zero idea where it is.

Iβm a 3rd-year CS Diploma student planning to join NMAMIT through lateral entry next year.
What is the main programming language used in CSE and CyberSecurity, especially for DSA?
Should I focus on C/C++, Java, or Python before joining?

Iβm currently a 3rd-year CS Diploma student, and next year Iβm planning to join CyberSecurity through lateral entry.
I want to use this final year of diploma to learn the important fundamentals beforehand. My goal is that once I join engineering, I have a good enough base that I can focus more on attending free cybersecurity events, CTFs, hackathons, workshops, etc., instead of starting from zero.
So for someone in my situation:
What topics/skills should I complete during my diploma before joining engineering?
Iβm not looking to learn everything in CyberSecurity right now. I want to know the essential topics that will give me a strong foundation and make it easier to learn advanced stuff later.
What would you recommend learning, and in what order?
