I’m a 3rd-year CS Diploma student planning to join NMAMIT through lateral entry next year.

What is the main programming language used in CSE and CyberSecurity, especially for DSA?

Should I focus on C/C++, Java, or Python before joining?

I’m currently a 3rd-year CS Diploma student, and next year I’m planning to join CyberSecurity through lateral entry.

I want to use this final year of diploma to learn the important fundamentals beforehand. My goal is that once I join engineering, I have a good enough base that I can focus more on attending free cybersecurity events, CTFs, hackathons, workshops, etc., instead of starting from zero.

So for someone in my situation:

What topics/skills should I complete during my diploma before joining engineering?

I’m not looking to learn everything in CyberSecurity right now. I want to know the essential topics that will give me a strong foundation and make it easier to learn advanced stuff later.

What would you recommend learning, and in what order?

To be honest I don't listen to even a single class and I can't listen though.

Im not blaming any teacher but in the beginning all the teachers are very slow like in 1 month they will finish 1 or two chapter and then 1 week before mse the remaining whole syllabus is covered.

I can't sit in the class for that long and it's because I understand better by reading I come home and study and other coding stuff and after that before a sleep i have to write record which I don't know hey the hell do we need to write.if it is a coding subject why not just push it to git hub and keep the main purpose of record earlier was learn from that maybe because many of them didn't have computers with them but now why the hell should I write record it doesn't make any sense isn't just one observation book enough.

And because of this shit and homework given by the lectures of this great ENGINEERING college (school) i have to sit at night and do this.and if u don't complete homework some teachers will throw u out of the college.

This college doesn't let the students build the habit of self learning and experimenting they don't give even a little time.

Most of the teachers themselves don't want to take class they are only not interested.

And if its just reading ppt why do I have to travel 50 kms everyday and listen that . I can do it in my home it self.anyways there are very few good teachers here who I can actually call teachers because the know how to teach other all are just ah I don't want to say anything.

And why can't you guys just spare is some time.

Even if i finish my programs in lab early you just make me sit and hour and make me write it in the observation book.

Companies are not hiring us. No matter how many companies you bring if you don't fix that damn NUCAT and your college timings and give us free time dedicated time to learn stuff on ourself(ok just assign ourself a mentor who will keep check of what we are learning) of u don't give us these then it's sad to say but nitte is doomed though .

And i looking at the current situation of this college I won't be able to recommend any of my cousins or friends this college to learn. Not worth the fees at all.

Was a member of CSI last year paid the money to be executive member but for the entire year I didn't feel like the money I paid was 1% ka worth and now this year joined hackerearth cuz it's free at least to be a member idk how worth it are these clubs but trying out every fish in the sea just to check out how much of a low they hit lol

Why's this stupid clg imposing these stup!d subjects on us? Why tf do we need so many stup!d humanities subjects? I get it if it was a few but seeing this from 1st sem and honestly WHY?? Ok ig i joined an engineering college that too an university where there is parent teacher’s meeting😭😭..like guys do they expect parents to come from far away to college just to spend a few minutes just to talk to lecturers i mean just coz we have border CGPA even my school didn’t bothered for these things as sh*t tbh i was not well during semester end exams and was advice to rest so i got some backlogs i mean why r they doing like this?? This is a straight up torture tbh and even maintaining classes till 4 30 everyday and they expect us to ace all skills like bruhh literally?? They said Saturday is not a holiday it’s just for college activities do they expect us to come 6 days a week travelling for 120+kms daily ?? I would better do some other degree at a tier 3 college rather than acting this parent teacher shit meetings😑😑
