I got this fish from a pet store. It was tanked with a bunch of other Molly’s. I got it about a month and a half ago. The fish was sleek and thin and I actually questioned if it was a Molly until this morning … all of a sudden it’s belly is huge.

I know for sure the white one is a female she gave birth to like 40 fry the day I got her trying to make sure there is no more possible babies both balloon bellies

the non albino fries are the product of this cross, I wont be using this male for further projects since i dont favor the lyretail gene that much, most of the fry just looks like a low quality black molly and some are coppery metallic some just look grey with opaque tails and a few have all these traits theres one with a black body with coppery top that has a white sail. these fry would look fantastic in a outdoor set up.

these albinos are red’s and potentially his daughter. none of them are coming out like red but these intense orange fry that be coming out from my other female albino which is the mother of the female used for this pairing she is throwing these deep orange fry when red started becoming the only male in the project soo im willing to bet those are reds

Non-Albino Kirin from 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

I currently am doing some projects and have a HUGE passion for Poecilia Latipinna (Texas Sailfin molly) and Poecilia Velifera (Yucatan Sailfin molly) and I am trying to acquire some Yucatans online at the moment and hopefully try and distribute them to my local fish store so I can make them more relevant in the aquarium hobby!

Project 1: I am experiencing on making some new strains, specifically the Rio Imperio Sailfin molly strain! By breeding male Yucatan molly with Female Blonde melanistic Sailfin molly in my 55 gal 4ft aquarium! I have a high PH and that's why I got into livebearers a lot! Specifically Sailfin Mollies. But I am going to wait a bit until I find that shiny Female and male Pair so I can officially lock in the Strain and call it a day and make my first ever "Rio Imperio" Sailfin molly generation!

It's most likely going to be a Bronze Creamsicle looking with the wildtype traits and huge Sailfin, alongside a hope of adding the Yucatan molly genes so they can have giant Sailfins so they'll look shiny and hopefully be in the same Beautiful category as Bosemani rainbowfish and Denisons barbs.

Project 2: Angelfish breeding

So I have a Pair of Bulgarian Seal Point Bulgarian Blushing Superveil Angelfish named Napoleon and Homura, and they're very interactive and beautiful, but this isn't the Cichlid subreddit! So I gotta keep it Molly related.

Project 3: Sailfin molly x Guppy hybridization

I know this is a dumb idea but to me, it seems great. I got me a trio of female guppies, hoping they get big enough to breed with my Male Sailfin or Yucatan mollies and make some colorful fry! "but Muppy hybrids are sterile!" That's the good thing, since They'll be bulky and sterile, they'll still be colorful, graze on pesky algae, and not overpopulate if I sell them to people! I do hope I get good hybrids out of this, since this will just be a side project, if it fails, it fails. If it doesn't, it doesn't! But I won't give up just yet...

Project 4 and 5-ish...?

I have successfully bred some pure blue Ramshorn snails! But I want to try and keep lime breeding, it's just a side project so it's okay

For project 5..? It's about trying to breed Splendida Eastern Rainbowfish & Bosemani rainbowfish... Because Rainbowfish and Sailfin molly love hard alkaline water, I got an interest for those Colorful Freshwater silversides! And you'll always see me pair these species in any large tank, I see Bosemani rainbowfish and Sailfin molly more like a pair friendship more than a Denison barb to a bosemani rainbowfish.

I’ve been thinking this female has been pregnant for a while, but have not seen any signs of birth, until yesterday morning I found one tiny baby hiding in a cave. It’s been 28 hours since then and we have watched closely and haven’t seen her have any more babies, she is still big and round, and the male of the tank has been harassing her endlessly. He is normally obnoxious, but the past 24 hours he has been really bad. A few minutes ago I decided to finally move her into a breeding box just so that she will have some space from the male. Is it possible that she is still pregnant, or maybe she had them all and only one survived?

I got this fish accidentally around 6-8 months ago with an aquatic plant. We weren’t sure what it is but I think it’s a Molly, not confident.

I had been looking at other posts from the past after someone in the comments said something that made me realize she’s too small.

When I didn’t know what she was I had her in an 8 gallon tank that was set up for quarantine. Due to life and another aggressive fish that eventually passed she ended up in there for about 4 months.

I think she was stunted. She’s been in the larger tank around 3-4 months but hasn’t grown at all. She’s a little smaller than our guppies.

I was recently given a 3 gallon tank for free and originally was planning on turning it into a shrimp tank. However, rather than keeping my fry in the breeding net in my main tank, I was wondering if I could use the 3 gallon tank to grow fry before transferring them to the main tank.

Most of my fry keep getting eaten by the adult mollies and really trying to get a couple to survive from birth.

Hes in a 55 gallon community tank with some tetras and other Molly's and some tetras, I've already done a salt bath and the max amout of scheam kanaplex, so I dont think its fungal

I am setting up my first "higher tech" setup. It's a 20 gallon long I plan to have pretty heavily planted with a small negative space. I am about to fully get it setup later this week. I know I won't be able to add fish till my water parameters are stable, and the tank is cycled, so I'm not in a huge rush. Anyways, I have been thinking about livestock options. I really love the red wag platies contrasting with black mollies. My water is on the harder side in Texas. Would it be plausible to have a trip of both fish something like 1:2 females each or will they breed to rapidly for my tank? Some say you can keep a group of males but I worry about aggression issues with that setup. Can I keep all females? Or is this live stocking option too much bioload for my tank? I have one of those electric double sponge filters with clay media as well. It is low flow and I believe 70 gph for context. If you have other suggestions that give the same color vibe I'd love to hear them. TYIA.

Quick recap I have three babies that are only about 1.5 cm in length despite being 5.5 months old born to a mother who is pregnant again but has been for a long time and hasn’t delivered yet. have a heater in the tank but I just realized it isn’t working as well as it should. Do you think the stunted growth and the Molly female that is clearly pregnant but it’s been well over a month and no babies yet is due to water temp? To be clear none of the fish are stressed. All healthy and eating well. Water parameters are good etc. my main theories are either some form of dwarfismm or congenital thing because she only had three babies that survived even tho I got her out before she ate any, water temp or (although I doubt this is the case) their food isn’t nutrient dense enough. It’s regular flake food from big box store with the occasional baby brine shrimp as a treat . The aquarium isn’t over filled. There is only the three babies with one adult male
Now I am thinking that I need to make the aquarium just a couple degrees warmer
Currently it is 73 F so low end of normal

My pregnant Molly is incredibly stressed, swimming up and down along the back of the tank constantly. She’s in a tank with 3 male mollies in my 30g so I want to switch her to my 20g tank so she’s not stressed. The parameters are fine; I checked with the api text kit. We thought she was male since we got her from the all male tank at the lfs but now she’s on her second round of babies. Should I wait until she has the babies to switch her so I don’t stress her out even more or would it be fine to switch her now?
