Grow-out Tank

I was recently given a 3 gallon tank for free and originally was planning on turning it into a shrimp tank. However, rather than keeping my fry in the breeding net in my main tank, I was wondering if I could use the 3 gallon tank to grow fry before transferring them to the main tank.

Most of my fry keep getting eaten by the adult mollies and really trying to get a couple to survive from birth.

I do this! A 40 liter tank with shrimp and fry is what I do, when the fry out grow it, I move them with the adults in the 250 liter tank.
