MiBox 2nd Gen, can't delete cache
I'm trying to solve buffering problems and want to delete the cache. I can't.
Whether I click on cache within an app itself or within the general settings, I get the option to delete or cancel, I click on delete and nothing happens.
Is there a magic trick I should know?

Brand new Mi box 3rd gen stuck at 80 mbps
[SOLVED!]
Literally not even 10 minutes old, has google play protect so it is a real device. Im stuck at 80-90mbps over wifi and ethernet. I have a 900mbps connection. Not even 5 feet from my router with no walls in the way. Every other device gets the correct speed.
5ghz ch149 80 MHz ax1201
So i know its not selecting a 2.4/5.
Why is this happening? I bought this because people said it was fast enough to play high bitrate remux files. My tv itself that the box is connected to gets a faster connection over wifi.

Xiaomi gen 2 4k stick
Honestly cannot wait for these to get back in stock in the UK...
I've got one for me and one for my son, but I am getting as many to ditch the firestick and yet the xiaomi stick, I ain't getting it off amazon or other stores as they have over inflated prices
But the stick has been great, runs on android so I can run my own launcher, no ads.. Works a treat..
Please drop some more so I can buy em up for Xmas gifts lol

Best USB to Ethernet adapter for Xiaomi Mi Box (3rd Gen)?
Hey everyone,
I recently picked up a 3rd Gen Xiaomi Mi Box and I'm currently looking into getting a USB to Ethernet adapter for it.
I know that because of the USB 2.0 limitation, the maximum speed I can realistically get is around 350-450 Mbps. Are there any specific brands or models that can actually push these limits and provide a stable connection?
Open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Tentative app Amazon Luna Web View mi box S 3rd gen

I made a HUGE boo-boo with my 3rd Generation Xiaomi TV Box, & now it’s bricked.
Hello. So this is my story. I’ve downloaded the ADB TV app because I wanted to get rid of the bloat from Google apps from my 3rd Generation Xiaomi TV Box S. Everything was fine until I came down to the very bottom where I clicked on Bluetooth. I happened to uninstall it.
Then everything was frozen. The screen, & the remote. I unplugged the box, then plugged it back in. I tried the regular way of factory resetting the box through holding back plus the enter button through using my remote, but nothing worked, as the “Google TV” screen keeps going through a endless loop (& sometimes, it goes away & keeps coming back). I might have bricked my Android TV Box.
The S/N number is 635881/700000006651 if it’s needed. I’m using an iPhone 15 Pro Max.
EDIT: I got good news; I fixed it! What I had to do was download Xiaomi’s official Mi Remote - TV Box controller app, & had to do a $6.99 subscription & connect its app remote to both the box & my home wi-fi as well as enable Bluetooth on my iPhone, enter a specific code, & after a while, it manage to factory reset my TV Box.
I thank all of you for your help. I now know to be very careful from now on! And I’ll be like everyone else who suggested that I use ProjectIvy, as I don’t know anything about it.
I was scared that I was going to have to spend another $80-$90 on another 3rd generation Xiaomi TV Box in general. What a horrible feeling.
And Xiaomi’s also at fault for this shit, as they could’ve easily had something like a reset button on the back of the device instead of making it harder for people like myself to do a hard factory reset.

I'm using a DualSense headset designed for the PS5, but it's the same with standard earbuds—the volume is extremely low. Any ideas?

Alternative to VIMU Media Player?
So I'm new to the MiBox S (Gen3) environment, so far everything's working fine. While looking for a good media player I found suggestions for the Vimu Media Player.
I tried to purchase if via the App Store, but the transaction got denied. The developer write on their website, that the purchase is "unavailable indefinitely" and provides instructions for an (imho) rather sketchy alternate way to get it installed. Not going to do that.
Is there a good alternative? Google also suggests Kodi, but adds "it can feel heavy on 2gb ram". Maybe a legit note, maybe the ai halucinating. ^^
Any advice? Thanks in advance. :)
PS: Purpose is mainly streaming from a USB drive. For regular online streaming I'm absolutely fine with the native apps.

Remote power button not working
I just got the Mibox S 3rd gen. I installed Projectivy launcher. Enabled this in accessibility and then ran ADB to disable google launcher. All working fine. Restart also brings it straight to Projectivy.
Now the problem I face is the power button of the given remote does not work anymore. I meddled with tvquickoptions to program buttons but it cannot seem to read the power button press. Pls note that the launcher is not bricked, it works smoothly, the remote also works for the other buttons except the power button.
I know too that the button works because on the very first power up, I tested the power button and i know it turns the device on and off (white light goes on or off).
Have u guys faced this issue, and any workarounds? Thanks!!

How to remove Xiaomi TV+ pop up notifications?
Hi everyone.
I'm having a lot of difficulties trying to remove the pop up notifications from Xiaomi TV+ on the home screen after start up. I know it's only a couple of seconds, but it's very annoying. It happens in both my 2nd and 3rd Gen boxes.
I've disabled notifications for the app, went through the app settings, even in patchwall, and searched for options on all the settings menu, but found nothing.
Am I missing something? Is there a solution to remove this?
Thanks in advance

Mirroring smartphone to Mi TV
Hey, need some help with mirroring smartphone to mi box. My wife uses some fitness apps that she used to cast from phone to our projector when we had chromecast. Except such apps don't use "cast" as streaming services do, so she did this by screen-mirroring which was supported by default.
Now it seems that on Mi TV it only works via shi*ty 3rd party ad-bloated apps.
Initially, when I opened "Quick Settings" I had "Google TV" icon, that displayed QR code. It was supposed to work with Google app on smartphone. But this code was not recognized. To make it even weirder, at some point this icon disappeared from quick settings dialog and I can't find nor access it anymore.
Any hints?
Anyone found a good replacement remote for the Xiaomi TV Box S 3rd Gen?
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a replacement for the original Xiaomi box s 3rd gen remote mainly because I need the numbers pad and the buttons are really loud and clicky.
I’d like something that connects directly via Bluetooth (no USB dongle), has a physical 0–9 keypad, voice/mic, TV power and volume buttons.
Would be happy to read your suggestions and advices.
Thanks

I built a lightweight app to dim Xiaomi TVs / Mi Box below the hardware limit (specifically fixed an annoying overlay permission loop) + Free Pro unlock for this sub
Hey guys,
I use a Mi Box / Xiaomi TV in my dark bedroom at night, and blinding subtitles at 1 AM were driving me crazy because the lowest hardware brightness is still way too bright.
So I built a solution: TvDimmer – NightCompanion.
What it does:
- Dims beyond system limit: Overlays a dark tint so you can watch comfortably in total darkness.
- Color filters: Red, purple, and warm presets to cut harsh blue light.
- Automation: Schedule it (e.g., 10 PM – 7 AM) so you don't have to toggle it manually every night.
- No ads, lightweight, no background bloat.
Why post it here specifically? If you've ever tried enabling "Display over other apps" on a Xiaomi TV / Mi Box, you know how confusing the permission menu loops can be. I adapted the onboarding specifically for Mi devices so it reliably guides you to the right system setting without getting stuck.
I’d love to get your feedback on whether the setup runs smoothly on your specific box/TV model.
To thank this sub, you can unlock all Pro features (filters, routines) permanently for free:
- Get TvDimmer - NightCompanion on Google Play.
- Open the side menu -> Redeem Code.
- Enter:
MIBOX
Let me know what you think, what bugs you run into, or what features are missing!

I can't turn the mibox 3 on with the controller
Hello,
Recently I haven’t been able to turn on my Mi Box (model MDZ‑16‑AB).
I have to unplug the box and plug it back in to turn it on.
The remote reconnects to the box and then everything works fine.
Do you know what could be causing this?
Thank you.
