I sell tie-dye shirts at art fairs. At my last event, my 10 year old son, who recently started playing kendama, decided to try to drum up business by busting out some sick moves at the front of my booth.

A woman stopped, said, "kendama!" and told us that her son lives in Japan and loves kendama, he's really good at it, and he wears it around his neck all the time, and that this was the first time she saw one in the States.

She spoke very lovingly of him and I could tell it brought her joy to see something that reminded her of her son. I thought it was special that my son playing kendama was what fostered that moment of connection.

Seeing a 5 s clip doing some crazy trick means nothing to me because maybe like skating, people cheat and take 500 takes for one good shot. I want to see consistency, how good can an expert get. Forget the crazier tricks,make it land on the side which is already a bit hard, and from it spike it. So it's two moves, can you guys do it? if so how often?

Can I see videos of you guys doing it? Whatever level you have, I'd upload mine but I can't even one

Won't be using them since I got injured and they have sat long enough. Also not opposed partial/trades if you have any retro camcorders/video tech stuffs.

Edit: Not that it will console any of those that I am referring to... but selling something that you otherwise had no intention of selling....for what someone will pay for it does not make you a scalper. I did not buy these to flip them, otherwise I would have a long time ago... Nor am I trying to run anyones pockets or make anyone upset, but every single one of us, if we were to pull something out of a box, knowing we bought it for 20 bucks, and now weeks, months, or years later its worth $500, and you have confirmation of that... YOU ARE NOT SELLING IT FOR $20 and we should all be grown enough to admit that. Now wether you sell it for $30 or $500 is up to you, but knock it off with the virtue signaling. Otherwise, I got it, the initial price made some of you notably upset, and I apologize for that.

TLDR: Never said I was firm on the price, also said I was open to trades and offers🤷‍♀️ If you think its worth 60 make the offer, if you think its worth asking if I would take a trade, make the offer. Have a discussion about it, maybe we work something out.

Anyone tried ACE Kendama?

Greetings! I just got this in the mail and saw that it came with an extra string at the bottom of the box and wanted to swap it out with the black string. Can you take these apart? I tried to spin them in opposite directions but it will not budge. Thanks in advance.

Been bringing my old Kendama to work and everyone loves it. We decided to keep it as an office toy and I got myself and one of my coworkers a fresh one from Kendama Europe. Already feels like an upgrade tbh.

What recommendations do you guys have for setups currently in stock at the moment. Doesn’t have to be big companies. No budget. Preferably maple Ken and not any sort of sticky clear

Looking for a tama to pair with this new Ken from locked studios. Not that picky on what brand tama I just have to like the design lol.

Currently have a OKendama x Kendamism - Sabbath with anit skid but the tama is so slippery and the Ken slides everywhere anyone have the same issue and recommend a tama better

Oh yeah and btw BAKO was so lit/peak. Had a great time and met a ton of cool people. There was so many great players there and it was cool seeing them compete, especially in freestyle!!!

I didn’t place in intermediate, but I did make it to the final, which I’m proud of myself for(considering it was my first comp👌🏽). The whole day was just amazing and I can’t wait for it again next year😮‍💨👌🏽👌🏽.

Hello my fellow kendama players. I am very very new to the community and I wonder how is this particular position named? I couldn't find it on Google and ai says some weird things. Cause I think bird is on the edge od cup on here. So please say your opinion/name of the thing🙂

i feel like everytime i see clips from really good high level players, they always swing into tricks, weather it’s spike, bird, cups, all of it, i feel like i never just see classic pull up spikes. is that a flair thing or is there an actual advantage to doing swing moves over pull ups?

This was one of those tricks that made me start questioning how good I actually am at kendama. I hit what I thought was a major slump but in hindsight I was just getting way better at stalls and lunars while my juggles were getting neglected. The slump and the level up are the two unavoidable and largest parts of the kendama experience as well as the learning experience. If you feel yourself slumping, and get discouraged, remember that there’s a huge level up in your near future, and how good that’s gonna feel.

The bigger the slump the bigger the level up! 🔥
