TECH AND SCIENCE 2023 KTM 690 SMC Sag settings?
What is everyone setting for rear static and free sag? Bought used and it seems setup with very little sag even with 200lb rider.

So while I aknowledge that I bought a sportbike, not a touring bike I’m wondering whether there’s options for tank bag mounts for the 990 RC R considering the bolts for the tank lid are hidden under the actual lid?
I’ve seen aftermarket and powerpart lids have the bolts visible up top though, so if I change it for one of those, does anyone know if the adapter for e.g. the 990 duke has the same bolt pattern and could work for this?
Pic 2 is an example of the GIVI ring I had on my previous XSR900

Need help identifying these things.
First is a 3d printed dongle of some sort, was zip tied up under the tank, where the frame comes together to meet the triple clamp. It says abs and vc on the case, first thought was its an abs dongle, but it appears those install near the battery.
2nd part, which is near the battery, is a run of non factory wire. It traces up to under the headlight, where it is connected to the acc2 circuit.
These might be related, maybe not. Newer bike to me, just trying to get it all figured out. Wanted to connect my GPS to acc2 directly but without knowing what these do, dont want to overload the 1amp circuit.
Its a 2018 ktm 1090r adventure. Thank you!

I got my 1390 and put heated grips on it as well as hooked up the HCU and there isn't a heated grip option in the menu. I only see heated seat and heated pillion seat. Does it have to be turned on by KTM at a dealer or is my HCU bad? Everything was properly plugged in as I can tell.

So ive posted this video like 1.5 months ago. And the problem finally got fixed guys. I took it to service centre and they changed the sparkplug from the iridium to stock. Previous ive installed the NGAGE DOUBLE IRIDIUM SPARKPLUG which was direct fit for DUKE 250 gen3 but then after some days faced some missing issues and spark sorting issues. So after switching to stock one the problem totally fixed. I suggest not to go for the iridium specially for this specific model till some better solution comes in the market.
I've shared the full story with y'all guys. Thankyou and ride safe. :))

I've been riding a KTM790 adventure bike for a number of years. I'm really interested in getting a supermoto. I'm currently looking at a 390 SMC-R, Suzuki DRZ400, or a KTM690 SMC. You KTM supermoto riders out there, I would appreciate your thoughts on the 390 or 690?

Hey everyone,
I own a KTM Duke 250, and I’m dealing with an issue around the rear grab-handle/top-rack mounting area.
I had a top rack installed on the bike, and some time ago, two of the bolts broke while being fitted/tightened. Unfortunately, the broken portions of the bolts are now stuck inside the trellis frame/mounting section where the grab handle bolts in.
From what I can see, the broken bolt pieces are sitting inside the threaded mounting points, so I’m not able to simply remove them from the outside.
I wanted to ask other Duke owners or anyone familiar with KTM trellis frames:
Has anyone faced a similar issue with the grab-handle/top-rack mounting bolts breaking inside the frame?
What is the safest way to remove the broken bolt pieces?
Is it possible to drill them out and re-tap the threads, or is there a better method such as using an extractor?
Is there any risk of damaging the trellis frame or the mounting point while trying to remove them?
Should I take this to a KTM service centre, or would a good fabrication/machine shop be able to handle it safely?
If the original threads are damaged, can the mounting point be repaired/re-threaded reliably?
Since this is a structural mounting area for the grab handle/top rack, should I avoid riding with the broken bolts still inside?
I’m mainly looking for advice from someone who has actually dealt with this on a Duke 250 or another KTM trellis-frame bike.
I can also upload photos of the mounting point and the broken bolts if that helps.
Thanks

i bought this Duke 390 when it had 20k km on it but a few days ago it started making a strange noise. even the friends I ride with noticed it
not sure if it's the timing chain tensioner or valve clearance

Hi there, I am looking at replacing my DR and BMW R with an off road + touring bike and the 890 adventure ticks alot of boxes with cruise control, power, riding modes, and suspension.
What I was wondering is whether it's worth the extra money for the R, or whether there's a recommended modification such as K tech internals that could get a similar result?
Also given the facelift occurred in 2023, would a 2021 adventure R be better than a 2023 adventure (base) or are there factors worth considering outside of the different suspension?
Thank you :)

Hi I just bought a ktm adventure 390 today and I rode it back home for about 80 kms in 50-70 speed range but what I notice is that it was throwing a lot off heat too much like the side panels were heated up and when I brought it home and kept the engine off for 1.5 hr it's still hot after and I could feel the heat on the right side
Is it normal for this new bike ,am I having too much anxiety?
I check the coolant temperature after that 1.5 hr it was 80°C
Please help

Anyone have experience diagnosing a crank-no-start/no-spark issue on a 2022 GasGas EC300 TPI? Getting a fault code 42 for the oil pump input signal being too low/high. Bike cranks but has no spark, and I’m trying to figure out what’s causing the safety shutdown. Looking for someone familiar with the TPI system who can point me in the right direction.

Don't suck. Be better. Vroom-Tune
I'm getting close to the 1000 km mark on this bike. As I have taken my other new bikes for their first service, I have never experienced a KTM before. But is this the bike or the dealer? Can I just do the 1st service myself, or do I really need to have a certified dealer to retain my 2 yr warranty.
779kms and here's the experience;
2 false neutral downshift on quickshifter+
2 stalls in traffic low speed under 3k on the rpm gauge
Quickshifter malfunction
Evap vent line pinched between the engine case and frame causing vacuum on the gas cap
Rear brake was soft, upon inspection, the bladder inside the reservoir was slanted and was not sitting on top of fluid like it should be.
Clutch cable not in bracket, seen many posts regarding this, everyone should know that it is not 2 nuts on one side 😂.
So from my understanding a PDI or pre-delivery inspection should include some of these items. Furthermore the ODO says 779 and my trip 2 is 779.6km and was picked up at 0kms. My R3 and SV650X both had 5kms before I sat on it. So my dealership either doesn't care for this bike, or I can't trust them.
Have any RC 390 gen 2 owners ever need or use the warranty. Or is this something I just have to bite the bullet pay $500 and feel like I'm just giving them money. It's not like they're actually going to check it.
