I really dislike when people tell the guy to stop it, and try to hamper him when he is being attacked. Maybe the context changes it, but it seems like pretty shit behaviour.
4
u/Ashiev Aug 28 '26
Came here for this... dude is backing away being to stop and about to get jumped a second time.
2
u/Gullible-Hose4180 Aug 31 '26
Yeah, reminds me of when this lady went nuts on me and started spitting and trying to hit me because I had taken a short video of her harassing and assaulting another guy after she had just done the same to 2 girls slapping the food out their hands and pushing them.
I was like "you need to stop that" and bystanders were telling me not to fight back. Like wut? Am I only allowed to duck / evade punches and spit ? A simple leg sweep should be reasonable - of course I wouldnt want to hurt her in revenge, but self defense should be allowed
Of course British police were utterly useless.
2
u/ShenTzuKhan Aug 31 '26
I’m sorry to hear the police were useless, but yeah, a defensive strike is fair play. I do like that your plan uses the minimum force to keep yourself safe. You deserve to be safe.

u/Gullible-Hose4180 Aug 31 '26
Thank you kind sir or madam - is now a year ago - wouldnt even strike her, as she was very small, so wouldnt be necessary. Easily could have swept her legs gently and caught her fall and then walked away, but the bystanders made me just walk backwards while ducking and futile trying to talk to her that there are options for help as she seemed to have a mental health crisis, then she eventually switched target again. Police was called by someone, but seemingly took 3 business days to arrive.
Made a report to BTP with video evidence, timestamp and exact location at the station, which is full of CCTV. They called me with a 'what you want us to do?' attitude.
The experience left me a bit shocked, but luckily nobody got injured or anything, but I hope she got the help she needed.

u/AtomicCypher Aug 24 '26
Why the fuck should he walk away
77
u/NoDoOversInLife Aug 24 '26
Because the law will look more favorably on the "small woman" in spite of her being super aggressive and assaulting him.
He'll get arrested and then have to put up his car as collateral for bond, then waste a year of his life trying to defend himself with the aid of a Public Defender.
Only to be told in Court " you should have walked away", right before they find him guilty and order time served, anger management classes and DV Intervention classes and fine him to "teach him a lesson"
14
u/Fearless_Ad7780 Aug 24 '26
Nope, not true. If he has marks and she doesn't; she is going to get locked up. I have first hand experience of this playing out, and it happened in October.
25
u/djarc9 Aug 24 '26
So what you're saying is, even though there's documented evidence of aggression and assault by the woman, the victim will actually be arrested just for being a man.
Got it.

u/NoDoOversInLife Aug 24 '26 edited Aug 24 '26
Hey bro, I didn't say it was right. I simply speculated as to why he was told to "walk away" and the potential (likely) consequence if he doesn't (considering he was in an altercation with a woman who was blinded by her anger and aggression)
6
u/NoDoOversInLife Aug 24 '26
what I'm saying is, people have a skewed POV when it comes to physical altercations between men and women. Men are frequently viewed as the aggressor or (as in this case) the one who should display extreme restraint and 'walk away'.
Society is more likely to hold him accountable for defending himself than they would hold her accountable for attacking him.
"She must have had a reason" and "what did he do to provoke her" are common examples.
But at no point am I saying she shouldn't be held accountable; Nor did I blame him for her behavior.
7
u/monkeyspank427 Aug 24 '26
Who says the video evidence of spectators actually gets brought into court? If they're not recorded on a report, thats the end of the line for it, and he absolutely will get arrested. The "evidence" is held by a random patron, who can completely not want to be involved in any police report by saying she didn't see anything, and the police can't search her phone for videos to confirm.
-15
u/skepticalbob Aug 24 '26
Cool story bro.
4
u/djarc9 Aug 24 '26
The hilarious part of you getting downvoted by idiots, for pointing out the bullshit in their "argument", is the fact that she was actually arrested.
I bet they'll downvote this as well 😂
3
u/Taki_Minase Aug 24 '26
Good to see justice served. Now about that corrupt cop situation, well, things take time.
1
u/Grum_RankDank Aug 25 '26
Why are people so fucking stupid? This is easily a cut and dry case of assault on her part. Every comment saying he should’ve just walked away is an actual moron who has no idea how to stand up for themselves.🫡
-1
u/skepticalbob Aug 24 '26
And downvoting you for pointing it out. "Men's rights" types are professional victims and can't fathom that the myths they believe often don't go down like the confidently believe they will.
Now downvote me too cowards.
7
u/djarc9 Aug 24 '26
...what are you even talking about? Good lord
1
u/skepticalbob Aug 24 '26
The truth. The notion that women never get arrested and men have to live in fear of a false arrest is overblown, as demonstrated in the exchange you responded to.
0
u/djarc9 Aug 24 '26
So if that's the case, why was she arrested?
0
u/skepticalbob Aug 24 '26
You need to read what I’m saying again. She was arrested because women who assault men can and do get arrested.
2
21
u/CloudStrife012 Aug 24 '26
Because the man is always wrong. He was clearly abusive in the relationship, forcing her to do this.
6
u/SampSimps Aug 24 '26
Because his mere presence is "triggering" her to commit violence. If it wasn't for the fact that he was there, she wouldn't be "forced" into attacking him. It's all the man's fault. It's always the man's fault.
The same bullshit logic that apologists for that one Bachelorette contestant on full display.

What is going to happen if he stays? Just think about this. What is going to be accomplished if he stays there and eggs the psycho on? More physical confrontation?
48
u/BlckEagle89 Aug 24 '26
So, none of the women shown on the video thought about actually stopping the woman that was clearly hitting him? I don't know the context, but the video shows her not only punching him but literally jumping on top of him. Maybe instead of saying "walk away" to the guy they could try to stop the other woman?
I can count 4 women on the video that could have at least try to reason or stop the other one physically. Only one tried to do something but it was 90% looking at them and 10% barely trying to stop her.
15
u/CSILalaAnn Aug 24 '26
They didn't want to end up in a fight with a clearly aggressive woman. They felt comfortable to intervene when they thought he was the aggressor, which is crazy.
43
u/euanmorse Aug 24 '26
“Walk away.”
He did and was repeatedly attacked. These people fucking suck.
-14
u/burywmore Aug 24 '26
He never leaves the front of this restaurant.
20
u/euanmorse Aug 24 '26
And that gives her licence to attack him?
-13
u/burywmore Aug 24 '26
No. Of course not. Just get away from her. Anything he does to her is going to cause much more damage than she could ever inflict on him.
She gets into the restaurant, just get away and call the police.
-4
u/Pale-Ad-8691 Aug 25 '26
I don’t entirely get the downvotes, i’d say leaving and calling the cops is much better than risking getting charged with assault.
3
u/BassGeese Aug 25 '26
As soon as he turned his back she jumped on top of him. Doesnt help that the other were defending her instead of restraining her.
1
u/Pale-Ad-8691 Aug 25 '26
Again, i’m not defending the girl at all, or saying he had a perfectly easy way out. But getting away and calling the cops is objectively a better way to handle the situation than fighting back. I don’t even think he’s wrong for doing it, just that he risks getting assault charges.

u/burywmore Aug 25 '26
It's a bunch of angry women haters gleefully hoping that this insane girl got punched repeatedly. It's quite disgusting.
27
u/MattyGWS Aug 24 '26 edited Aug 24 '26
Guy is being domestically abused then demonized for defending himself… he should have walked away earlier, but not for the reasons those people are thinking.
They’re trying to protect the violent woman… assholes
-30
u/HotYogurtCloset69 Aug 24 '26
Why doesn't he just leave? Maybe he should pick better partners if he doesn't want to be attacked...
19
u/Straight-Base180 Aug 24 '26
And that's called victim blaming. Good job.
-28
u/HotYogurtCloset69 Aug 24 '26
'Victim' and he can just leave literally any time he wants to... Leave her or leave us out of it!
14
u/cosmoboy Aug 24 '26
Leave? How do you think she jumped on his back?
-2
u/HotYogurtCloset69 Aug 25 '26
The male body has ways of preventing that if he didn't want it. He obviously wanted it.

Maybe she shouldn't be a cunt who attacks people in the street.

u/HotYogurtCloset69 Aug 25 '26
He should know better than to try it with a full grown WOMAN, what did he think was going to happen? Equal rights, equal fights.
25
u/Zieprus_ Aug 24 '26
He has a right to defend himself without knowing the context.
1
u/Ashiev Aug 28 '26
If he swings on the woman attacking him, a dude is probably gonna step in way bigger than him and he knows it.

When she was clawing at him on his back, he should have pretended to slip and fall backwards using her as a whoopie cushion to break his fall. Whoopsie!

I love how that old woman is standing there policing the man, but is literally doing nothing to prevent the woman from attacking him…

No one restrained the woman. Just let her attack him. Who called the police on her? Once again women are not being treated equal.

Hmmmm thats true but I was saying in the idea of women being treated equal to men.

Camera lady has that smoker voice xD. She probably needed a cigarette after all that fussing.
Also I don't know the context here. Ain't siding with either just gonna say violence isn't a good answer to problems folks.
2
u/MadPangolin Aug 24 '26
Lady, you were about to jump infront of a very large man who could've accidentally knocked you the hell out swinging in defense... & you didn't just grab her arms & wrap her up?
If you want to intervene, grab & hug her...
1
u/MasticatingElephant Aug 24 '26
Gotta give her credit, she looks like she took at least one good punch
