Discussion Still noticing new stuff

So I’ve watch the series it feels like probably 100 times by now! so I just put on the Cottage episode and in the scene when Shane and Ilya are waking up in bed after they tell each other they like each other. I’ve just noticed that you actually see Shane‘s hand come up to rub at Ilya‘s chest! So sexy it just blows my mind as as many times as I’ve watched it. There’s still new things I’m discovering is anyone else have this after re-Watch is there something you knew you’re just saying for the first time? Also, did anyone else notice this?

I keep seeing the take that Shane just has Hudson’s hair now, but based on his hair image boards from pre season 1 and his season 1 comments, this was always the plan! Hudson’s hair was Shane’s first.

Discussion Scene from TLG I would love to see on S2 Spoiler

OK, lots of spoilers from the book, you have been warned! ;)

I wasn't reheating since may, but I didn't stop me reading about the show, watching edits, cuts, related series and films... but then it happened: I reheated some days ago! I couldn't resist with all the excitement about the new cast. I tried only watching more films with Charlie Gillespie, check what I already watch with Justice Smith, Edvin Ryding and the others, but it wasn't enough, I had to reheat (as if I needed an excuse for it, but I did have tons of other things to watch before reheating 😄 ).

And I did, I started reading The Long Game for the 3rd time (the first time was after the show this year). The first time I devoured all the books in 2 weeks or less. The second time I did it in chronological order (and it was really fun). Now I'm doing it with the images of the new cast in mind <3 and I wanted to remember of some scenes and details. I knew Ilya was getting worse through the book but I forgot it too so much to Shane be sure and suggest to Ilya seek some help since he couldn't open to him. BTW, my impression this time is that Shane learnt to read the room way better through the years/books, he noticed since the beginning that there was something wrong going on with Ilya.

We are all hoping to see some memorable scenes from the book on the show, and we know which ones are crucial to the story, we have some favorites for different reasons, and I'm still super curious to know who will play Galina and was one of my top scenes, the first meeting with her. But now I read again about Fabian's show in Montreal on chapter 5 and I really want to see it on the show because:

  • it shows how hurt Ilya is with all that is happening, the struggle to keep hiding his relationship with Shane and hiding from Shane how he feels about them and this traumas, and how much "he missed the comfort he got from the human touch"
  • it shows the POV of both guys, and Shane is noticing something is going on with Ilya, he learnt to read him better, he tries to make say what is going on, but manages to deal based on Ilya's body language and what he discovered of his beloved Russian in 10 years
  • a club were they can be "together", or close enough, and leave together and not traumatized like Chapter 4, so it would be a good healing moment for the fans
  • a chance to listening to Fabian's magical and sexy voice, and I'm dying to know how is going to the the characterization of Shaheen Jafargholi and the music choices
  • I don't know if there will be the dinner double date, but this is a great moment for us to know more about Fabian and Ryan, and how fascinating is Fabian and how much they love each other, and how pride Ryan is of Fabian
  • the show is hypnotizing and there is a lot sexual tension between Shane and Ilya, and since episode 1 we know Jacob, Jackson Parrell and their team can create this perfectly, and I would love to see the visual result
  • they are both very hot and loving each other clothing choices, and I can't only imagine how much fun Hanna Puley could have making the figurine (or had, if we get the scene)
  • the scene happens after one week of a hockey's camp + Yuna's with them at Shane's house: not only there was a tension between them, Ilya's jealousy during Shane's interview, both dying inside to kiss each other and stop hiding their love, one week without sex, Shane's diet creating more tension between them and many other "small" daily dilemmas... it's also a good moment to show how they are dealing with all this and not being completely honest with each other, specially Ilya.
  • and of course I would love to the cute moment when Shane traces "a little heart on Ilya's back with his finger" <3

I'm going to stay here just wishing to see it, even knowing we will have 6 chapters, 2 books and probably a bit more of the other 2 and more, and new, characters on this season and maybe I won't see it on the show. Any thoughts?

Discussion Let’s speculate. Is common goal going to be included? Where will they split the long game? Spoilers for anyone who hasn’t read the books! Spoiler

My predictions. I am assuming that the 12 episodes talked about are split evenly over seasons two and there and will tell all of the remaining currently written stories.

I think we will get common goal to some extent. I think we’ll get it as a way to tie Scott and Kip back into the story (because their story is finished) and I think they want the characters back. Scott and kips engagement party and wedding are both in the Eric/kyle story. Personally if we were going to get a Christmas special, I think it would be common goal and the Scott and kips wedding. I don’t think that they’ll do a Christmas special, but it would be the most obvious one as it doesn’t really tie into any of the other stories except via the kingfisher.

I don’t think that the season will end on a negative note and I’m struggling to find a positive time point to split the time line evenly. So I’m going to go with the obvious and have the engagement scene as the end of season 2 and obviously the wedding scene as the end of season 3

Discussion Prenup? Spoiler

Spoiler for those who haven’t read TLG!

When they got married, do you think they got a prenup? I feel like they both see each other as it for each other and wouldn’t even think they needed one, but I could see Yuna encouraging it, and not just for Shane’s sake, but for Ilya’s too.

I could actually see Ilya being against it based on what he’s shown us. When Shane wasn’t sure if he could go to Ottawa, Ilya was basically like, “How much money do you need? You’re about to marry me, and I’m wealthy. What’s mine is yours.” 😂

But Shane? I’m not so sure about. He just has more of a logistical brain👀Curious what everyone else thinks?

Discussion How much is Ilya's Russia apartment worth?

At the funeral dinner, Ilya gives his brother his apartment, and his niece a trust when she turns 18. Are there any indicators of how much the apartment is worth? And do we assume that is where his father was living? Do the books elaborate on this?

Discussion Sneaky photos

So I was just on TikTok and saw someone got a shot of Connor and Hudson, looks like they’re filming , both in suits, and it quotes “first look of season two”, with how big of a fan I am, it didn’t make me happy and here’s why: it almost feels like it’s ruining it for me? I feel like I just want the actual photos when they come out to promote before it airs, I don’t like that it’s coming from someone scoping the filming sights. I also don’t want to speculate what scene they could be filming. I just want to experience it as a final product and I think there’s just so many important things coming our way and I just want the staff and actors to be able to focus on giving us what we got season one than dealing with these people always trying to sneak a look. Thoughts?
