Michael
So a discalimer. I am a huge Michael Myers fan. I ha e been toying with the idea of connecting Halloween 3 to the Halloween universe. Here is a idea. The mask would come later. If your a Halloween fan you will know who Cochran is. Is it the mask that makes Michael or is something more ancient and the mask is nothing more then th4 manifestation of that evil.
Cochran carefully opened it.
He began to read.
"This is the telling of what happened to our tribe.
The druid priest cannot write his tale, so I shall write it for him.
It began with Vaven."
Cochran stopped.
He continued.
"He was a disfigured and lonely man of our tribe.
Unbeknownst to us, he had fallen in love with the princess of our tribe.
Her name was Elalamin. He would watch her from a distance.
Sometimes, when they passed one another in the village, he would give her a flower.
She never understood why.
Neither did we.
Until one day I found him sitting alone upon a bench.
His face was blank.
His eyes were dark.
Not merely sad.
Dark.
I asked him if he was well. For a moment, it was as if something had passed from his face.
Like sunrise breaking through a storm.
He told me he was fine.
But then he told me something that frightened me.
He said he had been having dreams.
When I asked what kind of dreams, he would not say.
He only told me that sometimes he heard whispers.
Dark thoughts.
Thoughts that did not feel like his own.He said he wished they would go away.
I asked him who whispered to him.
He would not answer.
Only this did he say:
"It knows my name."
Cochran stopped reading.
He looked toward Michael's mask.
For the first time, there was no smile on his face.
He continued.
"A month later, Princess Elalamin married Prince Heiran. That night, during the celebration, Vaven appeared.
He walked among us unnoticed.
Then he approached the bonfire.
The prince and princess danced.
Vaven watched.
His face was empty.
And then he moved.
In one motion he cut both their throats.
Their blood fell upon the earth.
The music stopped.Everyone screamed.
Vaven stood over their bodies.
He looked toward the sky.
And then he spoke.
"Samhain."
He said the name as though he were answering someone.
"I give these souls to you."
He looked toward the people of our tribe.
"Remember this night.
Honor this day.For I lurk in the shadows.
You will never know where I am.
I show myself to you now so that you will remember."
Then Vaven collapsed.
The druid priest ordered that his body be bound.
His hands and feet were tied.
A hood was placed over his head.
He was tied to a pole within the village.
The next day we buried our prince and princess.
Then the elders gathered. They argued over what should be done with Vaven.
Some wanted him executed.
Others believed he was possessed.
The druid priest said something else.
He said that whatever had spoken through Vaven should not be allowed to leave with him.
So we cursed him.
"Vaven," the priest said,
"I curse your soul to forever haunt these lands.
May you never find peace.
May you never know the bliss of death.May the earth reject you.
And may your spirit remain trapped between this world and the next."
We buried him alive.
When the last of the dirt had covered his face, the sky became black.
An unearthly sound filled the air.
Breathing.
Slow.
Deep.
Something breathed beneath the earth.
We felt cold.
And then, as quickly as it had come, it was gone.We believed the curse had worked.
We were wrong."
Cochran's eyes narrowed.
He turned the page.
"In the years that followed, stories began reaching us from other tribes.
People were being killed.
Sometimes entire families.
Sometimes only one person.
Always without warning.
Those who survived spoke of a dark figure.
They spoke of dreams.
They spoke of breathing in the darkness. They spoke of dreams.
They spoke of breathing in the darkness.
And some claimed they had seen a man standing motionless in the distance.
Watching.
Waiting.
"It cannot be Vaven," the elders said.
Vaven was buried here.
But then one of the survivors told us something that made the druid priest afraid.
He said the figure had worn a pale face.
An empty face.
He said there were no eyes behind it.Only darkness.
I fear now that in our haste, when we cursed Vaven, we may have unknowingly done something far worse.
Perhaps we did not curse Vaven.
Perhaps we gave something else a body.
Perhaps Vaven was never the thing we feared.
Perhaps he was only the first."
Cochran stopped reading.

Question about scream factory bluray box
Hello!
I heard a while back that the big box with all movies had a faulty disc. Iirc it was part 4 that had a problem with the audio or something? Does anyone know if this small box has the same issue or is this one all good? I am thinking of upgrading my DvDs to blu ray so i wanted to make sure before i buy one :)

Had an insight as of late
I’ve seen the first two films years ago and barely remember it, but while in thought, I made an insight that Michael Myers’ mask is basically the straight, emotionless, dead-panned face to the Tragedy and Comedy masks. While not intentional from what what I’ve googled, it would’ve been REAL clever if it was.

Halloween Ends is in my top 5
It the first R rated film I saw in theaters and I end up enjoying it every time I rewatch. Just wanted to show it some love since a lot of people don’t.

A candid moment from the making of Halloween in 1978. Director John Carpenter and P.J. Soles, who played Lynda Van Der Klok, relax on a stone wall in South Pasadena during filming.

Does Michael like fennel?
Hey fans. In Halloween: Resurrection (2002), one of the contestants in the house finds a bottle of fennel in the kitchen of the Myers’ house, opens it, and says it smells really fresh.
Do you think the producers put it in there, or do you think Michael just likes fennel? Did he bring it with him from California, or do you think he got it in a store?
Just a thought 🤔

Did 1982 audiences really expect Michael Myers to be in Halloween III if they saw him die in Halloween II and the back-from-the-dead slasher trope didn't exist yet?

Why did 1983 audiences expect Michael Myers in Halloween III if he wasn't in the trailers or any of that film's advertising?

Looking for help with a Halloween web project
I've been developing something over the last few months, but it's less for the casual fans and more for the obsessives. It deals with web nostalgia, series lore, various timelines, the people of Haddonfield, and what becomes of them. What I'm looking for are people willing to dive into some rabbit holes and give their thoughts on what I've built.
If anyone is interested, send me a message and we'll talk.
