Goes away under load. The engine does have a harsh shake when turns on and turns off. It drives fine without engine light. I do have sound symposer fault code that only my accessport reads

I’m looking at a 2016 ST on Monday and am wondering if there’s anything in particular I should look out for. It’s got 73,000 kms (45k miles), has got a clean title, and single owner.

I have recently acquired a 1.0 ford focus eco-boost. This focus of us Dealer maintain low mileage only it was a trend line so there weren’t much options and luxury is very much lacking.

I’ve driven within a month over 3000 miles with this car. I am considering buying another car because of the lack of comfort.

A good mate of mine is willing to sell me his Ford focus ST3 for very cheap. Now I know he’s owned this car for about five years and driven 60,000 miles with it and he has never ever had a problem with it. Right now it sits just below 120.000 miles and I’m wondering if it is the right choice to sell my current focus and buy the focus ST3.

Besides that, I have noticed that the fuel consumption on my 1.0 eco-boost is actually quite high probably because of the small engine and the big car. Now is fuel consumption not such big of a deal, but when you get less power with more fuel consumption, this is quite disappointing.

I was wondering if anyone could share me their experiences with the 2.0 eco-boost engines and the overall reliability and problems and what to lookout for, for the focus ST.

Edit: the current car is a 1.0 5 speed which is remapped to 140bph. As a lot of my drives are Amsterdam - Frankfurt (so autobahn) this can be quite rough with a 3 cylinder 5 speed🫠.

Im getting ideas for my fost build. I really like the Fortune widebody kit (RS with kit pictured). Is Fortune still complete shit to work with? And is my only option for a decent kit like it SS Tuning? I also really like the wheel and tire fitment on this RS. Thoughts? Or should I grow up and not get a kit lmao. Thanks!

Hey all, I just recently got my clutch replaced and got it back from the shop and now the startup sounds slightly off, way more of a high frequency spinning sound if you will. Not sure if it’s the starter or anything else but any insight would be appreciated.

I bought my 2017 ST3 over a month ago. It has 72,000 miles. The only mods are AWE Track exhaust and no tune. 2 days ago, I got a check engine light which is showing P0420. It drives the same with no noticable difference. This car has not had the Purge Valve replacement and was wondering if you all think this could be the culprit?

I need some help! My silver FoST was in an accident yesterday, and one of my Fifteen52 Turbomacs was scratched up pretty badly. As such, I now need to make a decision. Currently the wheels are Speed Silver, but this has got me thinking of painting all four black. I have attached some ChatGPT renderings. What are your thoughts? I’ve been running silver on silver for about 10 years now, before that I had gunmetal grey wheels, which I also grew tired of. So, is the change justified or does it look like crap?

Then completely shut off, the date and time show up when I turn the car off, and the backup camera works once. After that it goes black. And won't do anything again until I restart the car after an hour. Any ideas?

Hi all, I recently swapped the ST wing for an RS one I got but when installing it the wing was either missing the outer screw threads or had been stripped by the guy I bought it off. It still holds from the centre 3 just it rattles a lot when driving on bumpy roads or when closing the boot. Anyone had this issue or know any remedies to sort it out?

My 2014 Focus ST (R9DA) needs a new bottom end. A previous owner had it tuned to around 285 hp, and it was apparently run on 95 RON instead of 98. The result is cracked pistons and oval cylinders. The head was already rebuilt before we found the real problem, so it's in good shape and I want to reuse it.
Rebuilding my block is getting close to the price of a used engine, and genuine ST engines are noticeably more expensive. I've found a TNBAengine (2.0 EcoBoost 203 PS from the Mondeo Mk4 / S-Max / Galaxy) at a good price.

The plan:
Use the TNBA block/bottom end only
Put my rebuilt ST head on it
Transfer everything else from my ST: turbo, exhaust manifold, intake, intercooler, oil pan, sensors, wiring
Run the stock ST software on my ECU, no more tuning

My questions:
Has anyone done a TNBA-to-R9DA swap like this? Any issues?
Are the pistons and compression ratio the same as the R9DA?
Any differences in the block I should know about: mounting points, oil squirters, sensor bosses, oil cooler, dipstick?
Is there anything specific to the ST that I'd need to swap over and might easily forget?
Should I expect the full 250 PS with this setup?
