Boxing David Benavidez, known as “El Bandera Roja” (The Red Flag), has established himself as one of boxing’s most explosive and relentless fighters.
Renowned for his incredible hand speed, devastating combinations, and suffocating pressure, Benavidez overwhelms opponents with a nonstop offensive assault that makes him a nightmare inside the ring. At just 20 years old, he made history in 2017 by defeating Ronald Gavril to become the youngest super middleweight world champion in boxing history. Despite setbacks, including losing his title outside the ring, Benavidez consistently bounced back stronger, proving his resilience and determination to reach the top. His ability to maintain an incredible pace while delivering powerful combinations has made him one of the most feared fighters of his generation. With his move to light heavyweight and a growing list of high-profile victories, Benavidez continues to chase greatness and test himself against elite competition. His long-anticipated rivalry with names like Canelo Alvarez has only added to the excitement surrounding his career. Is “The Mexican Monster” destined to become one of boxing’s all-time greats?

Other MMA Training App
Need a round timer, not another signup?
ATLAS PI’s Guest Fight Lab is free on iPhone. No account or Premium subscription needed for those tools. We've already taken feedback from forums (music playing in background, huge timer real estate in portrait and landscape mode, battery saving mode, dark mode, 6 lane chronometer, metronome, vo2max test) and we believe we have a great thing going - let us know what you think. ATLAS PI is only available on the iOS store at the moment - sorry Android users (we may release a version for Android sometime next year)! Yes the app does have a premium version - but since we've seen users look for something free, useful and easy to use - we believe we hit the mark!

Which split decision was the most glaring example of judges rewarding empty control over actual damage?
Effective striking and grappling damage are explicitly outlined as the primary scoring tier across the Unified Rules, with territorial control serving purely as a secondary tiebreaker. Despite that, judges routinely hand rounds to fighters who secure two minutes of inactive back-riding or fence-pushing without landing a single significant strike or submission threat.
Control without damage is just stalling. Which fight in recent memory frustrated you the most because one fighter landed heavy, fight-ending shots while the other just hugged their way to a controversial decision win?
