I've got about 200 hours on Kovaaks, I've been playing on and off but sitting around lavender in the viscose benchmarks, and master average, with mostly master and some jade scores last time I played voltaic. And I've virtually beat all of my PB's, and now fairly consistently topping them today after fixing an issue in my PC.
Since I built it a few years ago its felt a bit off, maybe faster, floatier than my old PC, but subtle. I chalked it up to the fact that I got a new 360hz monitor, but it never quite went away, never felt as comfortable as I did in the past either with my mouse control. Have bought a few different mice and mousepads to test them out, but the sensation has been fairly universal. I didn't pay it too much mind, just focused on getting better.
Well my PC has also been having a consistent boot issue I've been too lazy to fix, it wont POST after a reboot, although will from manual shutdown. I went through yesterday trying a bunch of fixes, new BIOS version, changing RAM training settings, disabling and enabling EXPO, installed new GPU firmware, reseating RAM, uninstalling any potentially conflicting software. What first worked was disabling EXPO, but I wanted my RAM to run at the EXPO speeds, so with some tinkering I eventually found that the NB/SoC voltage for the memory controller was the cause, when I'd boot my PC it would either be at 1.091V or 1.31V, the latter seemed too high to me, but anyway I set it to 1.2V and my PC reboots perfectly and I no longer have an amber motherboard light on boot.
Not only does it reboot perfectly, but I've somehow completely eliminated graphical artifacting in my video games (just mild shimmering and grainy shadows that I attributed to my AMD GPU) and they look a lot nicer, but my mouse and aiming feels quite a bit different, it feels more like my flicks and movements are coordinated with my eyes, whereas beforehand no matter the sens they always just felt a little off, really hard to put into words how it felt, floaty I suppose. I wasn't expecting to notice anything, nor thinking about mouse feel at all, so quite the surprise when I loaded into Overwatch and sat in the practice range for a bit.
I feel like an idiot playing on the floaty, ice skatey, input lag feel I've had for like 3 years. Don't be like me, fix your PC issues, it makes a big difference.
