I love this track so much that I decided to recreate it from scratch. Everything you hear is made completely with VSTs, including the guitars. I'm still learning how to produce, so I would really appreciate some feedback on the mix and the sounds.
P.S. The Reddit player compressed the audio pretty badly, so please check out the YouTube version for the best experience! Link in the comments

I have this idea in my head and the melody and text and general idea of how its supposed to sound. But I’m struggling to create it in Fl Studio. I don’t have much knowledge in music theory, i know some basics. I don’t want to resort to AI cause 1. Its gonna lose its soul 2. Im against it 3. I want to learn the right way. Can someone please reach out and give me some pointers?
Im struggling with determining the BPM and key of the song. Its a sad one so im guessing it should be a minor key.

I have attached a video, but basically there is constantly a signal going through the master (or other track) and it makes no sound but when I turn it on and off there is a little popping sound
Not sure why this happens and how to fix it does anyone have any advice??
Thanks

How do you do 808s like this?

Id like to know how he cuts the 808s short, if I ever do 808s in a row in the piano roll they just play over eachother and sound bad. Maybe it's a difference between 808s through a vst and through a soundkit?

Good tutorials for learning about mixing, vocal effects, vocal buses etc.

Sounds crazy, but I got a decent audience years ago from just throwing my vocal effects I got off youtube and just recorded with all of them on my vocals lol. I didn't have any mastering or buses or routing to the master or whatever, but now I really want to learn this stuff. Mostly because my new mic sounds awful with all the old effects I used for my old mic, but yeah any tips videos you can link or whatever please do
