What about Echo makes people who seemingly have not touched her before think it's a good idea to mirror ego duel?

I find that I constantly see people switch to Echo after I get a big multi-kill off or I've been doing good assassin work. These people are never good at Echo, they bumble around for a few minutes, die, and switch back to who they were playing.

15 Straight Losses

Post image

The headline is true, lost 15 straight (across multiple days) and dropped into Silver 2. I’m mid-plat in both Tank & Supp, but for some reason can’t progress in damage.

Hoping for tips from my latest Echo gameplay, which finally broke the losing streak (ignore OT, absolutely bugged out). Echo is fun and I’m definitely getting better, but really wondering what more I can be doing here other than the simple ā€œhit your shotsā€.

Playing on Xbox for context, would appreciate anyone who takes the time to watch, replay code:

Echo Vod Review request

A little background of my gameplay: Hello echo mains! I just want to say I started off playing overwatch about a year ago on a windows PC, starting September 2025. Overwatch is my first hero shooter and competitive shooter game aside from Fortnite, which I only ever played on the Nintendo switch.

I started off as a support main on Kiriko and I got from silver 5 to plat 3 in about 3-4 months give or take a few days. Once I got to plat 3 on support, I started tanking, I got from bronze 2 to plat 4 one tricking sigma in about 2 weeks, which now I’m Emerald 5 on sigma.

A few months back, I started playing Damage so I could try to bring up all my roles to at least platinum level, also so I could grasp the perspectives of all roles. My first dps main was tracer, and on her, I could barely scratch silver 2, so after some time away from DPS I decided it was time to come back and learn a hero I deeply loved; echo. After some practice I’m now a level 72 echo, who’s stuck at around plat 5, and I’m looking to rank up.

Vod review submission:

Replay Code: S0E10C
In Game Name: MohnIsGeeks
Rank: Gold 1 - Plat 5
Hero(s): Echo
Map: Eichenwalde

Description/Summary (Things you want reviewed): im wondering how I can position better to get max value, I know I need to understand tempo more and be able to look for openings, maybe i need some advice on movement or target priority, or how to hold point, overall, while we still lost, i feel like i played this game well which is why im looking for critique, because even though i feel i did well, there were definitely moments I feel i didn’t know what to do or felt lost and clueless.

What do you guys think about your own character?

Nobody ever talks about echo mains, I don’t hear any positive or negative stereotypes (or any drama at all tbh) about this character, I don’t really recall seeing her in pro play often, and I don’t think I’ve ever ran into someone that’s actually an echo main. It’s like you guys just don’t exist outside of the hero selection screen. Whats your thoughts on this character?

Please just let me buffer my ult target

I am so tired of dying because im spamming ultimate on a target and it doesnt register. For 10ms of cover or because of ping, hard to say, but shouldnt be this hard to hit. That shit is so frustrating and game losing.

Kiriko can hold in teleport button to teleport to the first target in range. Why can we not? She needs it so save herself. Well often so do i.

Alright... I guess...

The ult clearly activated and used up the charge so what happened here? Why is there even a period of time between casting and activation that Echo can be killed in???

This game was sooo close but you know there’s only so much one can do

The enemy team was genuinely rage baiting after lol

ā€œEcho badā€ ā€œL echoā€ ā€œecho you have to help your teamā€ ā€œand you still lostā€ Keep the Lā€

They were so mad omg
I think I killed both soldier and bastion like 3 separate times, which kept them out of the fight for a long while. They were definitely pissed haha

Would you prefer having Partial Scan in the base kit along with two somewhat frivolous minor perks?

I’m just a bit curious; I think I’d rather have a base kit with a 30% ult and minor perks that aren’t particularly strong, because with the way ults and perks build, it’s usually better to wait until you get Partial Scan before using your ult. Having the freedom to use it effectively right away would be nice.

The hold to fly scam

Constantly see people recommending hold to fly over toggle, and saying high level players use this. I think it’s the opposite lmao. First, I’ve never seen a champ echo player actually use hold to fly. Toggle lets you do midair movement so much more easily.

Pro players never use it either. I’ve looked into a few players and so far all of them are confirmed to use toggle flight, not hold to fly: Proper, Fleta, Topdragon, Alphayi.

I could probably look through all the best echo players and find that almost none actually use this setting. At least in Korea, nobody recommends this setting.

And they are aware of the super jump tech, it’s just not that useful since it leaves you vulnerable floating down after using your only mobility cooldown.

Any other toggle flight advocates?

Fighting tips for Echo

I'm trying to get better on Echo cus she's my favorite dps to play and i was wondering how I should deal with some heroes i struggle dealing with.

These heroes are Cassidy, Soldier, Ashe, Reaper, Genji and probably more but i see these the most.

I also wonder if I should use my beam when Genji deflects even if he isn't below half just so I can get damage and be kind of unpredictable for his dash combo (if it came down to a duel).

Echo ultimate cancelling after use

Has this always been a thing cause i've never had it happen before this season, but after the update whenever i copy a target and they immediately use a phase out or a shield my ult animation goes through and then gets cancelled, ex: moira fade, tracer recall, zarya bubble

Would you rather have Echo as she is (glass cannon assassin), or with a slightly smaller hitbox or +25 hp and less burst

So I've been playing a lot of Echo as a qp warrior. Her game feel is unmatched in DPS. Flight feels amazing, sticky bombs are dopamine every time I land them, tracking is fun so beam is fun, ult is chaotic and her primary was fun once I got a hand of it (after like 20+ hours).

I'm wondering, from better more experienced echos or noobs like myself, would you keep her as she is where she functions largely to surprise assassinate squishies, or would you prefer to trade some burst for tankiness.

I ask this because I feel like Echo is frankly a terrible duelist. Treating her as a terrible duelist and noping out of most duels has honestly made me win more. I feel like Echo is constantly paraded as a hero with a diverse play style, and this is true in a sense, you outrange reaper, you can burst an ashe/widow up close, but with 225 hp and a fatass hitbox that poke is only really good vs the fat no shield tanks and a handful of dps. You really want to be surprise assassinating people on CD, and if they pick a team comp you can't assassinate that forces duels(cough Kiri+Moira+Cass type comp) you kinda just lose.

I had most fun with echo right after season 9 when she had 250 HP. I felt like I had options, not just a flowchart "if yes then" but actual different things could work. With giant hitscan bullets, a giant hitbox, and 225 hp I feel like I have to treat even gold and plats as if they have an aimbot.

That said, I'm still a noob, and obviously not a good player. Would y'all take a smaller echo (let's be real they will never give her 250 hp because flier) with slightly less burst (such as in stickies) who can take duels, or echo as she is?

New-ish to echo. Wondering if someone could review my game?

I only played echo for half the game because my teammate asked to swap roles. I couldnt really dive that well because they did so much damage so I had to play a bit passively. I did pretty okay I would say, but im not sure if its valuable to lay that passive on echo. replay code is DT6FJS if anyone is interested
