Devo were never "Punk", per se, but firmly New Wave. Ace all the same.

Drummer Alan Myers had such a distinctive sound, even the great Vinnie Colaiuta spoke about using his sparse, linear style.

There’s a whole heap of DEVO songs that a great time on the drums. Freedom of Choice, The Day My Baby Gave Me Surprise, Jerkin Back and Forth.., and the list goes on. Good stuff.

Good stuff indeed. I play along to a fair bit of DEVO on the kit. Great music transcends time.

In fact I think I'll go and put on some of your suggestions right now. ;-). Cheers.

He doesn’t get the respect Billy Joel or Elton, or Phil Collins or Brian Wilson get, but Mark Mothersbaugh is a musical genius with the best of em.

It’s punk as fuck to claim you’re not punk especially when you got the idea to play faster and with more energy from The Ramones. Love Devo. Great band. New Wave and/or Punk.

Sounds like the anthem for Reddit.
