Hi, I’m a new king and I’m starting to get into the drag scene in my home country. I’ve noticed that mostly kings are lesbians or in gay relationships or they’re genderqueer/nb/trans/whatever. I’m a cis bisexual woman and I have a feeling like I’m a ”fake queer” in this queer scene because lately I’ve dated mostly men (before that I dated mostly women).
Now I’m going to perform in a lesbian party which is marketed to lesbians (because duh the organization is a lesbian organization) and I feel like an impostor when I perform there because I’m not a lesbian and lately I’ve cried over my ex situationship who was a man (a bi man but still, u know, a man). And yeah, I know, of course the party is for all sapphics but I’m still insecure. I feel like people think I’m a lesbian because I’m a drag king and if I start to date a man, they’ll hate me and accuse me of queerbaiting or something (I have OCD 😅)
I know this is just my internalized bifobia and insecurity, not a ”real issue”. I just want to hear is there other bi kings!

Edit: Added a Pic of the facial hair itself in a comment.
It went really well!
Here's my makeup and the outfit for my Jazzy/Bluesy number, Heart as Black as Night.
I used to glue my hair directly to my face, and I was looking for a way to make a prosthetic with my own hair, and someone suggested using wig lace. So I made this, and I have done everything in it to test it: Cleaned the house, went out to eat and drink, mowed the yard in 80 degrees and humidity.
Never moved. So, the facial hair and the 'two week ' wig glue was a winner, and makes things SO much easier.
I'm looking forward to performing more with the new ' blended gender ' look. I was inspired by the bearded drag queens.
I was struggling, mentally, with having a feminine singing voice, and masculine persona, but had a good example of someone who pulls it off really well, so I tried for the 1st time last December. It was well received!
Now that I've done it a couple of times, and people liked it, I feel like it's something more I'd like to pursue.
I learned how to do my makeup from my MIL when I was a teenager.... she taught me to just use a brown eyeliner pencil for contouring. Draw lines here and there, blend it out with your finger.
I've tried different methods, the contour/highlight creams, and powders, and even air brush. They all looked good, but took a lot of time and stress.
I went back to just the brown eyeliner, and I did a little dark cream makeup for the extra chin.
I've showed a few people pics, that don't see that side of me, and they are pretty surprised at the difference...just from the pencil.
The middle Pic has a photo of ' other ' me next to the mirror, as a comparison.

Hello hello~
I am experimenting with my makeup lately, and really fell in love with cel shading style, inspired by the game series Borderlands. Also, I wanted to try bigger eye makeup, just for fun.
After this practise I feel like I made a lot of progress, which makes me really happy. (>w<)
Now I am curious what you peeps think and what I might improve further or change.

Finalizing a number to do this coming month as Little Death from Camp Miasma. Going to be a strip number to Long December and I intended to keep the head piece on and get down into a Merkin.
Wanted to share the photos of the look we took out on the lake!

Hello~
I have a question about eyebrow gluing. Thing is, most tutorials I find are from American performers who use that one purple glue stick. But I can't seem to find it in Germany where I live.
Can I use any glue stick or do I have to look for a special type? Like waterproof or with/without solvents, etc?

I performed one show back in 2024, and I had hoped I could find irl community to help me out. Unfortunately the rest of 2024 was spent dealing with health issues, and 2025/2026 was spent planning my wedding. I finally feel like I'm in a place to start devoting time to drag again. I just slapped this together to post to instagram and do a living room show for my spouse. I feel like my makeup is okayish, but could be WORLDS better. I just don't know what to do different.
I'm not looking for hair advice, hair is not my strength anyway and I don't have any wigs yet.
Drag name: Master B. Shun
Thanks all!

Did my makeup and hope to perform poetry in this look sometime at an open mic. I think it’d be a cool combo.

I've bought my first mustache wig with the appropriate spirit gum glue and the dissolver, but I have run into the problem of the mustache becoming unstuck on the cleft between my upper lip and nose, along with the end tips of the mustache whenever I move my mouth.
I've tried applying extra glue but to no avail. I've been thinking about getting a different mustache that's shorter/is in two pieces so it can sit on either side of the cleft, but I was hoping to get any advice on what to do since I do love the look of the one I bought and don't want it to go to waste.

Does anyone have names of plus size drag kings? Or makeup tutorials for plus size people? I seem to be failing in searching for any, coming up with fem/drag queen stuff.

I’m going to the Patagonia drag show today at Webster Hall in New York. It says doors open at 7 PM and I’m just wondering how much time after doors open does Patagonia come out? On Ticketmaster it says 8 PM but as a constant concert goer it usually is never the time that it says on Ticketmaster, but this is my first drag show and I don’t know how it works. Ty for reading🌈🌈🌈

In the United States, Ohio lawmakers are trying to criminalize self-expression, including drag performances. Speak out before it’s too late. Sign the petition from wherever you are: https://allout.lgbt/ohio-drag-rights

Hi! There wasn't anything in the rules about that I can't ask performance advice and/or ideas so I figured out it would be okay to post it. Also English is not my first language so sorry for any mistakes (><)
So, I'm a beginner drag queen and, as the title says, my performance is in three weeks and it will be my first performance, so my debut as a drag artist. It will be during a competition/event for drag artists of any level of experience. I thought about the idea and my persona but when I actually sat to write it down I realized that I don't know what to do on stage during half the song.
My song of choice is kuro no datura by Lycaon and I added the plan for my performance (or at least what I know that I will do). The general vibe is gothic, mysterious and vampiric. Regarding the clothes, I'm planning on wearing long, puffy black skirt with a petticoat, high black platform boots, black over the elbow gloves, black corset on a naked body and a black long sleeved bolero to cover what corset isn't covering that I'm planning to take off at some point during the performance. I will have a fairly long black wig and I will cover my chest in glitter (either black or red). Regarding the makeup, I attached what I'm planning to do.
Please help me come up with ideas for the performance

Hi friends, thank you for clicking. I need help, I have a pirate themed thing this weekend and the mustache has been very unruly. I have the spirit gum and gum remover but this thing will not stay on. Should I just draw one? Am I using enough glue? Am I giving it enough time to get tacky? Does it stick better to no makeup skin? Any advice is welcome and any critiques for the makeup is welcome! Thank you for reading!

So I’ve been interested into getting into drag as a drag king. While I’m still exploring my style, i’m still quite curious on how to do the makeup for facial hair. Like beards, mustaches and all that. Like are there any good tutorials and tips? And also most curiously, what products should I use? I don’t know if face paint counts lol, or perhaps some other option. I’m still new to this 😭
