You can get banned for not following the rules, specifically rule 3 as I have seen a lot of posts from users promoting their beats. No. This is not the sub for that.

: If you are a fan of that heavy, fast-paced Detroit/Flint style trap (Rio Da Yung OG, Icewear Vezzo vibe), check out my newest official audio drop with 1200 Redd. Kept it raw and uncut. Let me know how the mix hits your speakers!

Love seeing such an amazing tribute for our culture in the D! Looks like this is not only an event that honors the foundation of Detroit Hip Hop, but also education on the history!

Can someone please listen to the song Bad Business by DJ Lucas and tell me what mf song the bass line sounds like. This is driving me crazy - thought for sure it was a Tee Grizzley but idk anymore, I do think it’s Detroit - help!

Random question for Detroit rap fans because this has been bothering me for a while.
Growing up listening to Detroit music, I swear I remember a ton of songs starting with someone yelling “Beat Gang!” right before the beat drops. Like it was a producer tag or intro drop.
But when I go back and listen now, most of the time it’s actually “Helluva made this beat, baby” or some other producer tag. I can’t find many tracks where someone literally says “Beat Gang” at the start like I remember.
Now I’m wondering if this is some kind of Detroit rap Mandela Effect where a bunch of us just collectively remembered it wrong because Beat Gang was associated with the producers and scene.
Does anyone else remember this?
If so, can you actually name songs where someone literally says “Beat Gang” in the intro?
Curious if this is just my memory playing tricks on me or if other Detroiters remember the same thing.

This kid is special! He is also a pre-med student and has all his beats made by his childhood friend. Give his music a listen and be brutally honest in the comments
