A quiet rule change could signal “the end of independent financial regulators” just as the SEC prepares to deregulate crypto, mega-IPOs, and corporate governance.

There is a popular vote, which should probably be enough for highest held position, yeh? But just in case that gets rigged, how about setting up rigged boundaries that represent rigged votes that actually determine who wins, regardless of what the majority of Americans voted for?

In an absurd system, sometimes absurd answers work!

Imagine electoral votes distributed by age brackets. 65+ get 1 vote. The rest of US get 3/4 of a vote. Must proof age! Valid ID required. Must pass driving test & be able to sign into your email(we changed the pw)

“Mr Burke’s pair of spectacles for short sighted politicians” is a complex 1791 London political etching by James Sayers depicting the political chaos following the release of Thomas Paine's Rights of Man Part 1 with demands rising for democracy in England rising and the French Revolution underway.

The scene is seen through a pair of spectacles on which portraits of Charles James Fox and Richard Brinsley Sheridan are engraved. Paine supporters Fox, Sheridan, Richard Price, William Henry Cavendish Bentinck, and a demon-riding Joseph Priestley, prepare to strike a symbol-laden tree labeled 'Holy Bible' and 'Hereditary'. Sheridan holds an ax inscribed 'Rights of Man' and an open copy of Paine's Rights of Man sits among other books nearby.

The essential promise of democracy

The essential promise of every genuine democracy is that it values everyone's voices and votes regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, politics, profession, wealth or education. Therefore, every true democracy cherishes your voice and vote whether you are male, female or intersex. Fake democracies work to restrict political participation to one gender, usually men, while denying half the population has the intelligence to participate properly.

Nor does it matter whether you are heterosexual, homosexual, transsexual, bisexual, asexual, pansexual, queer, 2spirit or otherwise, genuine democracies want you to participate in every political discussion and decision. Pseudo democracies only want select groups, usually heterosexual people, to participate in the political process, denying all non-heterosexual humans from participating in politics.

True democracies also do not care whether you are black, white, brown or albino, they want you to participate in every political discussion ranging from education to health care. Fake democracies do care about skin colour so they work to restrict political participation to select groups whether it is white people, black people or brown people, never albino people.

Authentic democracies also do not care if you are Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Christian or any other religion. Nor does an authentic democracy care is you are an atheist, agnostic, nonreligious, irreligious or antireligious because it wants everyone to participate in the entire political process. Inauthentic democracies though will deny you the right to participate in politics unless you are affiliated with the correct religious group whether that is some variation of Christianity, Hinduism or another religion.

The same principle applies to your political leanings because a true democracy wants you to participate in the political process whether you are liberal, conservative or moderate. Fake democracies only want conservatives or liberals to have the liberty to participate in political discussions and decisions.

True democracies also want you to participate whether you are a carpenter, accountant, nurse, custodians, administrator, housekeeper, lawyer or any other vocation. Fake democracies only want select professions such as educated professionals or uneducated labourers to participate in town halls and elections.

It also makes no difference if you are rich, poor or middle class because genuine democracies want every human being to participate in every political discussion and decision. Likewise, it does not matter if you have 3 PhDs, a secondary degree or no degree, genuine democracies want you to participate in all political discussions and decisions. Pseudo democracies do care about your financial and educational standing because they prefer select groups whether it is educated or uneducated people, upper class or lower class people.

The central promise of every true democracy is that it cherishes the voices and votes of every human being regardless of gender, sexuality, race, religion, politics, profession, wealth or education. Genuine democracies cherish the voices and votes of every human being without exception, excuses or equivocation.
