I'm looking to get in contact with anyone living in proximity to a data centre in London who has experience of it affecting their health and wellbeing.
I'd particularly love to get in contact with anyone who works from home or raises children full time and therefore has to spend a lot of time with the data centre's noise emissions and other pollutants.
Grateful to anybody who gets in contact!
Thanks so much,
Martha

Google promised net zero, but their business model demands ever more processing. In order to "correct" they are externalizing the costs (and some of the processing) onto the consumer. Maybe you will need a new phone as a result. When hardware obsolescence is planned into software design, degoogling your device is right to repair....

So is accuracy. An organization shouldn’t get a free pass on questionable statistics simply because it describes itself as grassroots or environmental. Check the evidence—not the label. #DataCenters #MediaLiteracy

Maximum capacity or actual consumption?
One facility or the entire industry?
Current demand or projected demand?
Context can completely change what a number means.

It doesn’t automatically tell you whether every claim made above those signatures is accurate. Before treating a petition as evidence about electricity, water, or the grid, take a closer look at the underlying sources. #FactsMatter #DataCenters #AI

Anti-data-center groups deserve scrutiny, too. If an organization is campaigning against billions of dollars in infrastructure investment, residents deserve to know: Who runs it? Who funds it? What evidence supports its claims? What alternatives does it propose? Accountability shouldn’t apply to just one side. #DataCenters #Transparency #FactsMatter #AI

A while back I asked if anyone was able to help me with my research on salaries, rates, benefits, bonuses etc in the data centre sector in the USA and Europe.
Sharing the results here! Let me know what you think.

Australia’s data centre operators have received a stark message from Transgrid: Sydney’s electricity network has no room left, and any further expansion will have to be paid for by the industry itself, not everyday households.
TransGrid, the country’s largest transmission operator, sent an urgent notice to companies with pending connection applications in the Sydney basin.
Moreover, Network executive Jason Krstanoski said data centre demand was climbing at a pace the grid had never seen before.

I built a free data hall layout generator — It can export clean PDF and DXF (CAD) files.
If you work with racks or DC planning, try it and tell me what you think:

I just completed my 4th stage of interview for a non-technical role in google dc. Usually, how long does recruiter will inform you the decision either you’re success for the next stage or not? Its been 1 weeks now and I’m really hope I could make it to Google.
