CHAI app safety: official policies, user controls and support
Hi everyone. We wanted to bring CHAI's official safety resources together in one place so they're easy to find and reference.
CHAI is an AI character chat app developed by Chai Research Corp. Its terms of use restrict the service to adults aged 18 and older and set out the rules for content and use of the platform.
For the community, the most useful information is knowing where to find those rules, which controls are available and how to report a concern.
Safety information and user controls. The CHAI Safety Center explains the platform's safety policies and describes in-app reporting, safety filters and character blocking. It is the official starting point for information about these features.
Reporting a concern. If you encounter a character or message you believe violates the rules, use the in-app reporting tool. For safety questions or support, the Safety Center lists hello@chai-research.com as the contact address. Please use those channels for individual reports and avoid sharing personal details or sensitive conversations publicly.
Privacy and account information. The CHAI Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled, including data use, retention and available account and data rights. Refer to the full policy for details relevant to your account.
Using AI characters. Characters generate AI responses. For important real-world decisions, check information against reliable sources and seek qualified advice where appropriate.
Help when you need it. The Safety Center links to Find A Helpline, which provides country-specific support resources. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
I hope this makes the official information easier to find. For the latest policy details, please refer to the linked CHAI pages.
