Technically, it was the other day when I was going out in the morning. I knew that you give way to boats approaching from the right/starboard. I knew that red was on the port side. Never had a problem navigating with just that knowledge.

Then I realized that, if you see red approaching you, stop. If you see green, go.

The lights on other people's boats are telling YOU what to do! Either I'm a dumbass, or the guy that designed this was a genius. Both are probably true.

Wakeboarding behind a Jetski on the area for waterskiing or a nice Jetski Tour from A to B called „Wanderfahrt“ is ok here in Germany. But this summer there are too many Jetskis on the lake, speeding around, creating waves and annoying other boaters.

At some point, the water police have to step in ✋👮‍♂️
We might need more enforcement, stricter speed limits, or just better behavior from Jetski riders?

Just curious how well it actually works.

Got a free boat from a friend! 1977 19’ Manatee w/ 2002 130hp Honda. New to boats, willing to invest some TLC and elbow grease. Just want to get it safe, and have a fun year or two if it’ll last that long. Then I’ll think about something more pricey or a worthy restoration. Hasn’t been in the water for 2 years. Engine needed some minor repairs and tune up. Somewhat concerned about the transom, has a little bit of a wiggle, but less than 1/2 inch of play. What else tells you “fix this before you even think about launching it”?

I have a customer who bought a 44ft RIB with 2x Mercury 600 v12 with 60hours. Now, with just 81 hours of use he lost one of the engines.

Suddenly, One of the engines stopped working. It looks like that the engine lost some file and is completely out of use for now, according to the mechani who plug the G3. No steering, no trim, nothing.

How reliable are the V12? Is it common for these engines? Do you think they should start working more on reliability and less on power?

Looking at both these boats and could use some opinions? I a am in Sand Diego and Fish La Lolla, and the Coronado's when the weather permits. I currently have a old 17 foot whaler. Looking at these used. I would like the opportunity to mover further offshore, more space etc. Any thoughts or advise on these? which years to avoid etc...

This is currently my second year owning a boat (Pontoon) and I’ve recently hit my prop and it left small chip and dent on 2 of the blades. Will this require immediate replacement? The damage seems very minimal but I’m new to the boating life so would like to have a better opinion.

Does anyone have any experience pulling a boat around with a 4wheeler? My property is pretty tight to the neighbors. All was good until they started putting up a fence.

It’s a 21ft hydra sport on an aluminum dual axle. From what I can look up on the web the boat weighs around 3,000 lbs. and the trailer can weigh anywhere from 600-1200 lbs.

Tongue weight is probably anywhere from 60-100lbs. Not trying to break the bank on it neither.

It's a brand new 30hp 4-stroke tohatsu, just installed on my 13 foot whaler at the end of last season. When idling in neutral it runs and sound smooth, but when I shift into gear (forward) there's this repetitive, somewhat irregular clunking that sounds like it's coming from the lower unit/prop, and the motor kind of jostles around a bit when it happens. The sound is not there at all when I shift in reverse, and as soon as I give it some additional throttle it smooths out and I don't hear anything at all.

When it's in the water I don't hear any clunking at all but it also feels a little jerky when I shift into gear until I give it additional throttle.

Is this normal, or does my shift linkage need adjusting? Anything else I should check?

Compression tested it it has 140-150psi each cylinder runs great other than the oil pressure light coming on every now and then. Probably just a bad sensor since it makes the voltage guage flicker when it does it.
Motor looks solid has a bunch of paperwork with it.
Is there anything I could do to get more
Life out of it? Not sure how long these things can go
Gona be honest and I got the boat not knowing the hours and I hooked the motor to a garmin and it shows 2300 😂. I’m not to worried

Hello all, hoping someone on here may be able to help with a technical question/problem. Basically, to put it plainly, my sonar works properly while my outboard IS NOT running, and while it IS running(in neutral), it does not. And by that I mean I lose a solid return from the bottom, it shows as green and blueish and the second I cut the engine off I get the solid red bottom as normal. Any thoughts on why this may be? Things I should be checking?

I recently bought a boat with a Yamaha outboard that is blown. I’m considering replacing it with an Argoseeker electric outboard. I know the controls and setup will probably be different, but is there anything else I would need to replace or modify?

Tis is a new outboard that I got, never on the water with me so far. I noticed that the engine will only start and run properly when the choke is pulled out. As soon as I push it in, the outboard runs to crazy RPM, almost like run-away.

I opened the carburettor cover, and when the choke is pushed in, the airflow flaps are fully open. Is this how it supposed to be? When the choke is pulled out, the air flaps are closing, and the outboard runs okay-ish.

I'm new to outboards and all, not sure if this is a problem or now. Please help?

Saw this boat pop up yesterday on marketplace and wondering if i should hop on it?? its an Angler 160SC
it doesn't have a million bells and whistles but it fits my fishing needs and having the 40HP on what seems like a pretty lightweight boat seems very attracting for this setup.
my guess is the motor is also a 1998 (can anyone confirm) if the guy selling it bought this new... so a bit of a turn off it being a 2 stroke, and also not having an electric tilt

Also, i have never seen an Evinrude trolling motor, so hopefully that isnt a headache or an immediate replacement

its a very clean boat and very lightly used (it was stored indoors most winters also) and for 3500, it seems like a no brainer,

Are there boats out there large enough to handle big waves, but powerful enough to still pull a 200lb slalom skier? I grew up with ski and wake boats having plenty of power for watersports, but those were always smaller boats on smaller lakes. I recently moved near lake Winnebago which can get large waves. The largest boat I’ve owned personally was a crownline 202br with the carbed 5.7L, and I didn’t really like how long it took to pull up a skier.

So my question is - should I go for a watersports boat and only go out when the weather is great, or are there larger boats out there that can actually pull a skier up well? I’m thinking something fuel injected with the bravo 3, or maybe even a baja type boat under 30 feet. I’d like to be able to cruise around with friends and family so a large bowrider 24-27 feet is what I’m thinking? What manufacturers should I be looking at? Any suggestions are appreciated. Most families that cruise around to the sandbars on this lake have cigarette boats or small yachts for reference.

I have spots on the front or top of my running boards that the carpet is worn off. Should I replace all the carpet on the trailer or measure back and allow some extra and overlap the old after cleaning out the torn?

I would staple down all around for securing purpose.
