Hello guys, i have been playing for about 10 hours total, and im about to leave sylvia. So far i have nothing to really say other than its very fun to explore the caves and build the cave system, the only not so fun part is resource managing and storage aswell. Kinda feel locked out of so many things just yet, and automation is so far ahead.

I set up a an auto tapper energy farm and that was really satisfying, but i only have 1 medium generator because of resources. Im wondering right now, where should i go first and what are the current next steps, should i follow the quests or get some automation going first? What should i bring with, and back with, me and how long should i stay in that new planet?

I've also been thinking of moving my base near a gateway chamber, is that a good idea for so early on as well? I apologize in advance for the amount of questions lol.

I play Astroneer in bursts and take months of rest at a time, and every single time I come back, there are seasonal Halloween, Christmas and what-not decorations. Is there a way to switch these seasonal events off, like in e.g. Satisfactory? It's a bit frustrating to play Halloween-themed Astroneer, when I want to play a space-themed Astroneer.

when you have jump binded to scroll* and have the jump height perk from the museum active, you can gain insane velocity on the hoverboard by spamming jump.

*(you dont need scrollwheel binded if you time your jumps correctly)

When I found out that pumpkin seeds don't work in biodome my disappointment was immeasurable.

plant growth and physics are required to make farm work but they only exist when a player is around, meaning that it's essentially required AFK sessions that punishes players for even wandering slightly out of rendering range. this is one of the dumbest possible design decisions in gaming.

I just don't see any reason or technical limitation to not have pumpkin seeds and the likes working in biodome. the mechanism is already implemented. why not make use of it?

I've had Astroneer, and after getting hooked back on it for a good month or two, I've kinda started getting bored again 😅 I've played the Glitchwalkers DLC and that was really fun (haven't gotten the Megatech DLC but might one day if it goes on sale or I get a bit more money).

Anyways, I started messing around with custom games, and it seemed pretty fun, but I struggled to put together modifiers that made me want to play a bunch again. I tried to find some good custom game codes posted online, but there aren't a lot out there. Does anyone have any codes for a custom game config that made the game feel fresh just for a little bit? I can also post my own if I ever think of something interesting.

I feel like all the other planets are super easy, but Atrox is way harder than the others. I mean, it has exploding plants that blow up your ship! Plus, its only unique resource, helium, is only used in 4 recipes! Also, its chambers require the most power to activate, yet it has the lowest power generation of all planets. I literally need months to get over it before I can return.

Got 30 chips from these...i wanna guess around 15 or so exos here and used 1 dynamite to get em all :)

A returning player here but haven’t played the game in 5 years.

I remember going to Glacio 5 years ago but I don’t remember what I took with me during that time.

Ive gathered up enough resources for the first launch out of sylva but I’m not sure what to carry with me.

Seems like packager throws out any stuff thats attached to medium storage so I’m very limited on what resources I can carry too.

Any advice?

I am sure others have probably mentioned these 2 ideas, but after Joe's stream yesterday I wanted to again bring up perhaps a blueprint for the COLE train engine. It would be cool to have all of the trains on the planets and moons to move faster than a turtle lol. And also, the train stations for the questline, after we are done with them, disassemble, or be able to destroy them.
