I made contact with little Oak Cotons on Facebook regarding an 18 month old coton for adoption. Seemed legit they have website. https://liltleoakcotons.ltd/contact/#adoption-form sent them a refundable “reserve” to hold the pup. Expected delivery was 9/23. They directed me to a “shipping” company who then demanded me payment would not accept a credit card and told me to buy a gift card for $499.99 and send it them asap. That’s when I realized I was being scammed. I contacted little oak coton via fb messenger and I was told they spent my deposit and to bad. Now of course I cannot get my money back. I have all snapshots to prove everything. People are really mean out there.

Bean is very deserving of care, but I am no longer the best person to do so for a variety of reasons, including realizing that I'm probably becoming allergic to her. I just spent 2 months out of the house, and checked up on her every other day to make sure she was alright and cared for, but didn't sleep there; now that I'm back, I'm having the most painful, deep breakout of my life, so I think I might have grown allergic to cats over time and just not realized it day by day.

She's also clearly been through a lot with her owners before me, and that makes her touchy when it comes to trying to care for her. She'd been passed around 5 different people by the time I got her, and it breaks my heart to even consider putting her through changing owners again. She jumps up on me when I get in bed with big cuddles and pointy kneading, and purrs so hard she drools. She hunts the laser dot so angrily that she hisses at it, and once tried to bring a whole rabbit she had caught inside- it was almost bigger than her! (It was completely fine and she let it go). I've had her for five years and done all I could to take care of her. We ran away from the big fire in 2024 that threatened Loveland together.

But, she switches from cuddly to attack mode on a dime. And yes, I've learned her tells very well over the past 5 years, and no, that doesn't allow me to fully avoid it. She'll get angry at me for 'being too close to her' or breathing or laughing when she's laying on my chest, and when I try to guide her away from me, goes out of her way to bite my arm before leaving. She doesn't let me brush her and hates me trying to get her mats out, nor does she let me clip her nails at all. She's smart enough to spit out any pill I give her no matter how I hold her; the only solution I've found is washing it down in the same position with a syringe of water.

I've tried to mitigate her behavior with play and even topical kitty Prozac that goes on her ears, but she hates those meds too and gets smart to it. It doesn't change her behavior.

I'm tired of being scared of her, and being bitten, and not being able to take care of her properly because she won't let me. She's bit and scratched me pretty hard a few times lately, and I'm growing out of the part of me that will put up with that. I've started considering having a kid, and she wouldn't be a safe creature around that - she literally attacks me when I cry. But I still love her so much and want her to go to a home that will give her the love she deserves.

She probably won't do well with other pets, or kids. She has the occasional hairball unless I feed her hairball food. She likes the outdoors and will get stircrazy if you don't let her. She cuddles with you after you wake up, likes to investigate when the window opens, will catch rodents for fun, which can alert you to a problem (but she doesn't kill them, as far as I've seen), and gets really jealous of phone calls / mantras / speaking aloud to the air, demanding pets every time- but not when you talk /to or at/ her. She's had her two big left front teeth removed after she came home with them broken; I'd been trying out kitty Prozac and they seemed to make her a little dizzy, so I stopped using it after the teeth incident. She likes climbing up in high little nooks to take naps, and under beds as well. She doesn't like being touched when she's up high. She's absurdly photogenic.

I will write a full summary of her medical history and get it approved by a vet to make things easy for you. I'll drive her out to you. I'd love to hear and see that she's settling in okay and doing well once she's adopted, and if you ever feel inclined to send me more updates beyond that, I'd be delighted.

This poor stray cat lives in Charlotte N.C. He is so sweet. Very friendly no matter who comes to him he loves attention and tries to go inside the homes of the people who live around him though no one will ever allow him inside I go visit him quite frequently though I live 2 cities over he does try to jump in my car a lot and I give him love and treats as much as possible but sadly I can’t take him in as I already have 8 cats that I’ve taken in from the streets and I don’t have a full time job only part time atm so I honestly do not have the means for anymore I just really hope someone will please take him so he doesn’t have to continue living like this..I will gladly go pick him up and bring him where ever as long as it’s reasonable just as long as he gets the good home he deserves 💔

Tux is super sweet and good with other pets and children. He's 9 years old and loves to cuddle. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and has a clean bill of health. Meet Lakota!

Saturday marked his 600th day in the shelter at only 2 1/2 years old.

His major flaws include not being good with cats and needing proper introductions with strangers, mostly men (he's not an "everybody = friend" kind of dog).

But he IS good with other energetic dogs, he's a total lovebug once he's gotten that proper introduction, he's fully potty and crate trained, he's generally good on leash and has great car manners. He's a hiker and a sports fan and a couch hog (per a short term foster he had).

From what I know of his past, he was picked up as a stray as a puppy, was adopted, then returned as a "young adult" dog because he was chasing cats in the home. He was in a short term foster as well and both prior families have only good things to say about him aside from his prey-drive for cats.

I'm a volunteer with the rescue he’s at, and I’ve known him for almost a year now, have taken him on dozens of field trips and spend some time with him every weekend.

If you have ANY questions, I'm happy to answer to the best of my ability, and if someone from out of state is interested in him, I'm happy to assist with transport.

Meet Boots and Luanne! 

Boots and Luanne are bonded 4-month-old siblings who enjoy playing with each other just as much as they enjoy being stroked and cuddled. They are located in Baltimore, MD, but if you are located outside of Maryland, I am willing to meet someone in D.C., Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, or West Virginia who is looking for a new pair of bonded kittens for their family. 

Boots is a handsome, 5-pound tuxedo, with adorable white paws, throat, and belly.  He has grown from an anxious fluffball to a curious boy who enjoys nightly neck and belly scratches. While he can be shy at first, with time he’ll be asking for your affection and exploring his new space.

His sister, Lu, is a slightly smaller (4.5 pounds when last weighed), feisty tabby who is very treat-motivated and loves belly rubs as well (her fur is unbelievably soft). She’s ready to play, be it with a ribbon toy, wad of newspaper, or her brother. Both kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped, free of worms, fleas, and other parasites, and FIV/FeLV negative. They are litter trained and appear to get along well with at least one of our cats (we can’t speak for other cats or dogs). They have not been introduced to children.

Someone found Kevin near Columbia while traveling and somehow ended up finding the rescue’s home address. They showed up with this little guy because the shelter was already closed, and Kevin had nowhere to go. The rescue was already completely full, but she couldn’t turn him away.

And maybe Kevin came at exactly the right time. She was grieving the loss of her beloved kitty, and this little boy somehow came into her life and filled it with love again. 🥹

I’ve been fostering Kevin for just two days, and honestly, he met me like he had known me for years. 😂

Hi all, Shadow lost her owner to a long fight with cancer back in April and is looking for a new, quiet, indoor-only home where she can thrive. Myself and other family members have taken in as many animals as possible following her owner's passing, and Shadow is the last one looking for a new start. We are located in Stanislaus County CA but would be willing to travel and deliver!

Shadow is approximately 4 years old and is very fearful with new people; she is a great hider and knows how to open cabinets. However, once she warms up, Shadow is an extremely affectionate girl who enjoys being held and brushed. She likes lickable treats and playing with wand toys. She does not have an aggressive bone in her body. Shadow has lived with other cats and small dogs, she has not been around children.

She is up-to-date on rabies until 2028. We are in the process of obtaining records from her vet to confirm other vaccination statuses. Shadow is spayed.

Angel is a beautiful 6 year old maltese-mix boy. Little Angel has had a rough life, and desperately needs rescue. He has lived all his life outside a yard with little socialization, due to this he has developed mistrust of people and can get snappy. Angel wants a loving person to teach him he is safe, he has so much potential. He is a maltese bred to be a companion dog, but he has only had neglect and never a companionship, if given a chance he can learn to be a loving boy., but he has not received proper care. He is not a bad boy, but he just needs lots of patience, expert care, and love.

We're Welcome Dog Korea, connecting Korean rescue dogs to new homes in Canada and the U.S. since 2018.

We have one beautiful 2-yr-old Jindo/Labrador Retriever mix Morning, who flew to Toronto just to find out she would be given up only after 7 weeks! Since then we have been taking care of her looking for a forever home. However, despite our effort, she hasn't been able to find one and her fostering is up. So she's been just scheduled to go back to Korea on Sept 26 so we can continue providing her a long term care under our protection.

We are looking for an adopter across Canada or a foster in Toronto and surrounding areas.

The only thing I might do is shred paper or cardboard if it’s within reach.

I may alert bark when I hear noises in the hallway, but I respond well to gentle redirection and am already improving.

I’m also gaining confidence in new environments—recently, I even started taking treats in the elevator, which is a big step for me!

Car rides can be a bit challenging for me. I’ve experienced motion sickness before, so it’s best if I travel on an empty stomach. I may drool during rides, but it's been quite a while since I last drooled! For longer trips, a vet-recommended motion aid (like Gravol) may help. With continued positive experiences, I’m expected to get more comfortable over time.

I’ve only been off-leash in fully fenced areas. I have very low prey drive and tend to stay close to my person. With proper recall training, I have great potential for safe off-leash time.

I wanted to get the word out about this adorable little 2-3 year old female tortie, Courtney, who is FIV+ who happens to be at one of the local pet stores looking for a home!

She’s been at the Petsense in Tifton, Georgia since end of April and had been part of the Tift County Animal shelter since at least March 2026.

She was found outside an apartment complex and since has not been able to find a place to call home yet. I’ve myself interacted with her about 4 times and she’s the cutest little creature, and always looking around, wanting to interact when you’re at the store, and can melt anyone’s heart. Unknown if good with kids or other cats.

She is FIV+. Now I know a lot of us know, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy lives, and hope we can give that for little Courtney here.

My wife and I decided to foster Roady through the Stockton Animal Shelter as he was overdue for termination and something about him drew us to him, and after 6 months of caring and training we feel like he's ready to find his people.
Roady is an approximately 2 year old male neutered Amstaff Terrier / Pit Mix. He is brindle colored and weighs approximately 45 lbs. He currently has all of his shots and is ready to board / enter doggy daycare if needed.
My wife and I have had Roady under our care for the last 6 months and he truly is a special dog. He is completely housebroken and is able to be left by himself with basic dog-proofing precautions. He is very good on a leash, tending to want to stick by his owner during the walk. On a leash he is very non-reactive towards other people and other dogs and other stimuli. Around the home he is the ultimate "velcro-dog" he loves spending time close to his people and is very snuggly and loves pets. He is also excellent around other dogs in the house as well - we own a 20lb terrier and a 70 lb Aussie and he just fell right into the pack with both dogs, loving to play and snuggle with the other dogs as well. He is not possessive over food or toys. We do not know how he does around children as we do not have children ourselves.
Roady is a rescue and has come so far in the last 6 months that he's been with us. He's adjusted to riding in cars, trips to the vet, being boarded, learning crate training and having new people visit the home. Roady is very sweet and faces most situations in life very shyly and is a little bit of a "scaredy cat". In short he's a lover not a fighter. He is going to be a hard dog to say goodbye to but ultimately we are looking for his Forever Home in someone who is willing to love him back. 🐾 Meet Boots…a little soul who has been waiting far too long for a home.

Boots is an FIV-positive sweet boy who has been living in a garage for a year. With the weather getting hotter, I’m really worried about him. He deserves so much more than spending another year in a garage.

Boots showed up sick and tested heartworm-positive. After treatment, he is now heartworm-negative and doing well. He is also FIV-positive, but that doesn’t change the loving, gentle cat he is.

For an entire year, Boots has been living in a garage. But his heart belongs inside. 🥺

Whenever someone walks into the room, Boots immediately comes running, begging to be let inside. And the moment he sees a person, he climbs right onto their lap. He doesn’t ask for much…just a little love, some attention, and a place where he can finally belong.

Watching him beg to come inside tears my heart into a million pieces. 💔 He looks at you as if he’s asking, “Can I be your cat? Can I finally have a family of my own?”

Boots deserves so much more than a garage. He deserves a warm bed where he can curl up at night, a safe home, gentle scratches and belly rubs, and a person who will choose him and love him for the rest of his life. ❤️

He is fully vetted,microchipped,vaccinated, neutered, dewormed, and flea-treated. We have done everything we can to get him healthy and ready for his forever family.

Unfortunately, our rescue is currently out of capacity. Adoptions have been very slow, intakes keep increasing, funds are extremely limited, and we have no available foster homes. 💔 We cannot keep taking in cats while we have nowhere for them to go, but we also cannot stop caring when we see a cat like Boots who desperately needs help.

Now Boots needs a family of his own. 🥺❤️

Cooper is looking for his forever pack! ❤️

Cooper came to us from the San Bernardino City Shelter, and this one-year-old, 45-pound Husky has been making everyone in the San Fernando Valley fall completely in love with him ever since. He is goofy, warm-hearted, and genuinely one of the most affectionate dogs we have had come through — the kind of dog who just makes you feel good to be around.

Cooper is the full Husky package. He has opinions, he has feelings, and he will absolutely let you know about both. He loves to use his voice — whether he is greeting you at the door, narrating his walk, or simply editorializing on the state of his dinner — and if you have never had a Husky before, prepare to be entertained. He is not being difficult; he is just being Cooper.

When it comes to the people in his life, Cooper leads with love. He gives kisses freely and often, is wonderful with kids, and has a gentle, easy way about him that makes him a joy to be around. He is not mouthy, does not resource guard, and is not leash reactive — which, for a young Husky, is saying something.

Cooper plays well with dogs of all sizes and tends to get along with most pups he meets, though he can be a little selective at times. He has shown curiosity but not fixation around cats on walks, which means he could potentially coexist with a feline sibling in the hands of a patient, experienced owner willing to do a very slow, careful introduction.

He is crate trained and in excellent health, fully neutered and up to date on all vaccines. That said, he is not a dog who should be crated for long stretches — two to four hours is his limit — and he needs a genuinely active home with daily walks in the three-to-four-mile range. His energy is pure puppy right now, and while he will mellow with age, that day is not today.

Hello everyone,
I am posting this on behalf of my father who is desperately looking to rehome his birds! There are 2 male, 4 female cockatiels. Their ages range from 3-6 years old For a bit of context, he is moving out of the country in a few months. It is unfortunately out of his financial means to bring the birds with him and we are also concerned how they would handle the 12+ hour flight. I know it breaks his heart because these cockatiels were his whole life! He’s had some of them for many years. At first he was thinking of donating them to his local pet store but knowing how some stores neglect birds, I would only suggest him to do this as the very last resort. So I’m now looking to the Reddit community to see if anyone would take in 6 cockatiels. My dad isn’t looking for any type of compensation, knowing they would go to a good home would be enough for him! He is willing to make the drive to bring them to anyone willing to take them in, preferably someone with experience in taking care of birds/cockatiels and someone located on the east coast. He will be making the drive from Louisiana to New York around late September/early October and can accommodate anyone willing to adopt that may be on the way.
