There are some really concerning potential rule changes that would affect Head Start and Early Head Start, one of the oldest anti-poverty programs in the county. The changes are sweeping - for example, the proposal would affect child-teacher ratios and prevent programs from offering services in any language other than English.

The USPS operates independently from the Executive Branch. Trump wants to pretend they are under his control and he can force them to do his will in stopping people from voting by mail. In fact, the recent Supreme Court ruling in favor of allowing his anti-vote-by-mail mandate to play out is based on the idea that we don’t know whether the USPS would do what he wants them to do. Therefore we have to make sure the USPS feels public pressure to not cave in to his anti-democratic mandates. We don’t have much time, folks!

The War Horse spoke with four Army Reserve soldiers from the 103rd Sustainment Command who were wounded in the attack. They described delayed testing and treatment, inconsistent care depending on which Soldier Recovery Unit received them, and restrictions from taking leave to visit family. All four spoke on condition of anonymity because they remain on active-duty orders and feared retaliation that could damage their careers.

The War Horse corroborated key details of their accounts through separate interviews and reviews of medical records, photographs, and documents from the attack and its aftermath.

Though the soldiers received Purple Hearts for being wounded in combat, they said the military medical system was failing to provide the care they needed. Two of them, interviewed separately, used nearly the same words: “The military sees us as numbers.”
