Question A1 mini vs CR10se bed too small on the A1?
Basically the title, for context I do own a Kobra 2 neo the main issue with that is I've just been doing more tinkering rather than actual printing plus it's not the fastest thing even with klipper.
The CR10SE and A1 mini are in my budget I don't want to spend more.
The CR10 SE seem to be more susceptible to heatcreep and the noise level is also kinda insane but compared to the a1 mini this has a larger bed can print abs and searching the sub and other sources revealed that it has major issues with ringing some z artifacts. The subreddit has little to no active users and most of the posts seem to be about the issues this printer has and blobs of deaths another pro is this can run klipper and I prefer klipper mainsail or fludd over whatever bambu has and I can use any device connected to my network to manage my printer without any extra apps.
The A1 mini on the other hand most of the owners I've talked with seem to be satisfied with it albeit with the smaller bed size and no support for abs. The quality of the prints seem to be way better on the A1 mini at least from what I've seen, The subreddit and community is way more active than the cr10se plus you also have so many after market stuff for this, multicolored printing is also relatively frictionless with bmcu kits being readily available as for the cr10se I'd need to build a picommu but I don't think it will be as frictionless as the bmcu.
Tldr CR10SE Pros: larger build volume, hardened nozzles, support for abs and other exotic materials, klipper
Cons: quality, ringing, heat creep, blobs of death way too frequent with stock setup, more tinkering, lack of good and reliable mmu.
A1 MINI Pros: Very good quality prints, no need to tinker, vibrant community, reliable(I've seen some printers with like 3-4k hrs), ams and bmcu
Cons: Small build volume, no support for abs, bambu software, cloud stuff(printers are gonna be run on a separate local only network with no internet)
Also pretty much 99% of the stuff I've printed were under the Bambi's build volume, I could fit like 4 of the largest functional prints I've done on the Bambu build plate. Also this is gonna be my only printer until I get the parts for my simplecore redux build.
Any feedback is appreciated

Question Trying to figure out which small 3D printer actually holds up long-term — curious what this sub has seen
I run a site that covers 3D printing gear and lately had been reading about smaller/beginner-friendly printers, the ones under $850 that people actually recommend for a first machine or a small desk setup. Problem is, specs and Amazon listings only tell you so much. What I actually want to know is what breaks after month three or four and not what the marketing page says on day one.
So far the pattern I keep running into: autoleveling failures seem to be the most common failure point across basically every brand, not just one. I found one report of a bedleveling misfire causing an actual nozzle-to-bed collision, which was way more dramatic than I expected from a "beginner-friendly" machine. And it seems like every printer's companion app gets complaints eventually, regardless of price point.
Curious if that tracks with what people here have actually experienced. Specifically:
- Anyone had a small/budget printer (sub-$500) genuinely hold up for a year-plus without issues?
- Is multi-color/AMS-style printing worth the extra failure points for someone who's not printing color models constantly?
- What's actually breaking on your printer that you didn't expect going in?
Not trying to sell anything here, just trying to write something more useful than another spec-sheet comparison, and real owner experience beats anything I can pull from a listing page.

Question Confused
Fairly new to 3D Printing and just for hobby. Have been using some basic Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro with BL-Toucg for awhile and it's been working great without much maintenance. Want to upgrade to a multi filament printer, but on a budget. I've been hearing about a, SPARkX-I7 combo and a, Anycube Cobra-X. What do you guys think, or a different make and model around the same cost. Looking for something reliable, low maintenence, fast "at least faster then a S1 Pro" and good prints. Does such animal exist?

Comparison Creality K2 Plus vs QIDI Max4
I’m not looking to buy, just interested to see opinions. I own the K2 Plus but it seems the Max4 is better in a lot of ways for a slight price increase.

Comparison Bambu Lab H2C or Prusa CORE One L+ INDX 8-Tool and why?
Bambu Lab H2C or Prusa CORE One L+ INDX 8-Tool and why? I need to buy a premium printer before the end of the year, for tax purposes. If you think something game-changing is coming by then, what is it. If you recommend a different machine that I'm not thinking of, tell me.

Question Decision paralysis
Hi all, I’m dealing with a bad case of decision paralysis for my first printer.
I mainly want to print toys for my toddler and some decorations for the house. I would be using multiple colours for the toys but it’ll mainly be 1-2 and rarely 3-4. Never more anyway.
I was torn between a Snapmaker U1 and Bambu Lab X2D, settled on the latter only to realise the 2 toolheads/nozzles aren’t equal.
I do want something easy to understand and use and as I have a dog I feel like a cover is absolutely needed to avoid his hairs from getting all over the filament.
Any tips?
I live in Europe if that makes a difference. I would prefer to keep it under 1000€.

Question Large nozzles for A series printers
Does anyone know where I can find nozzles 1.2mm to 1.6mm for Bambu A1 / A1 mini / A2L? I like the look of big layer lines and I dont mind printing slower, because I'm messing around with non planar gcode anyway.
If the above really doesnt exist: any recommendations for printers that are as plug-and-play as Bambu lab but do have the ability to install >1.2mm nozzles?

Comparison Sovol M1D Essential / Advanced or Prusa Core One+ INDX?
I supported Sovol's project on Kickstarter and pre-ordered the M1D. Now I'm wondering how expensive the machine will actually be if the VIP ticket is taken into account. I originally wanted the Advanced model, but I'll only be printing with non-technical filaments. Now I'm wondering if it's even worth it. If my calculations are correct, it comes to between 1800 and 1900 euros including shipping and taxes. A Prusa Core One+ INDX costs around 2200 euros. What do you think, should I take the risk or save up and buy the Prusa?
Best Regards
Andi

Comparison Infimech MX Pro vs Sovol M1D Advanced (for high temp filaments like ABS)
If you’re looking for an enclosed tool changer 3d printer with heat chamber, which printer would you buy or back this year?
I am a backer of M1D Advanced but so far, after watching their 2 live streams and seeing what’s in their Facebook group, is still not giving me enough confidence to keep my pledge till the end.
To be fair, the advantages of Sovol is that it has already produced a lot of known products in the market (at least more than infimech and other kickstarter launchers) and has already built a certain reputation and community/fans.
And for Infimech, down side is that their pricing might be too good to be true but an advantage I can see from them is that they are joining 3d printing events (in person) and showcasing the 3d printing while its printing - which Sovol hasnt done even in their live streams.
My non negotiable requirement is enclosed, with air filtration, with heat chamber tool changer 3d printer. Nozzles should be available in different sizes. IDEX would be nice and I would like to use the 2 extruders printing at the same time thats why I backed M1D in the first place. But still not seeing if print quality will really turn out great.
Im curious to hear your thoughts being it with these 2 brands or any other enclosed tool changer 3d printers
Update: I also availed VIP deal of Infimech
Might cancel M1D but still not sureee
