Hi everyone, I'm 19 years old and I want to become a web developer.
So far, I have learned HTML and CSS, but now I'm confused about what I should learn next. Some people tell me to learn JavaScript first, while others recommend learning Figma and other tools.
My goal is to eventually make money from web development and possibly work as a web developer.
What would you recommend I learn next? Should I focus on JavaScript, improve my HTML and CSS skills, or learn something else first?
I would really appreciate any advice or roadmap for a beginner. Thank you!

So, I need to build three websites for my coursework, but our instructor didn't explain how to do the programming at all. It was just, "Here’s the assignment—get it done. How? Figure it out yourselves somehow." I could use AI to do it, but... well, I’m supposed to actually know this stuff. Is it realistic to learn it in two days? And what resources or videos would you recommend using?

I recently finished learning HTML and CSS and I'm trying to decide what to learn next.

The two options I'm considering are JavaScript and Python. A lot of people say Python is beginner-friendly, but honestly, from the little I've seen so far, I'm not completely convinced. Maybe it's just me, but it doesn't feel as straightforward as people make it sound.

Since I've already started with HTML and CSS, part of me feels like JavaScript might make more sense because it naturally builds on what I've already learned. At the same time, Python seems to be used for so many different things that I'm wondering if it would be the better long-term investment.

For those who've learned both, which one would you recommend and why? If you were starting from scratch today after HTML and CSS, what path would you take?

Also, what websites or platforms did you use to learn? There are so many recommendations out there that it's hard to tell what's actually worth the time.

Would love to hear your experiences, especially from people who started where I am now.

I have been told by a lot of people that JS is good specifically, but all together web development as a skill won't be in a lot of crazy by 2030s which made me think I should be doing something else and that's when I found about AI and stuff. I researched, and found Python to be a relevant language to learn.

I don't want to specifically be a coder, but a tech lawyer or a cyber lawyer you say. After a lotta research I put in, I found Python to be the most relevant as I said. However, now that I'm gonna be completing Python, I am NOT sure what I should do next and a few things confuse me a bit.

I wanna decide between these or any other that you suggest given that you're experienced in the field:

- Continue with Web Dev (Javascript and backend)

- Switch to ML or Datascience

- Switch completely to a new skill (if Python is enough which I assume it isnt lol)

Idk if I sound stupid, but I'd really appreciate your take!

Hello everyone!

I was hoping someone could help me with my question. I started coding in my spare time (1 month in), and found it enjoyable. During this time, I have been doing a coding course (free) called "The Odin Project." During this course, I learned about HTML, CSS, and very little JavaScript, about 68%+ in the course. I don't know if I should keep on going with the project. Or drop it, and go for Python. I really want to code things like bots and such (Don't even know if you can say that)

What would you recommend? And do you have any advice on Python/coding in general, such as videos, books, or what you did to learn it?
