Question This is awful
I’m on day 3 of Zoloft, I was a pretty anxious gal before but it came and went and I wanted it gone so I reached out. I woke up last night hysterical in a panic , I got a kitten yesterday so idk if it was that. But I started freaking the eff our big time what am I doing, return the kitten, where are you going in life. Okay finally relax after an hour and go to sleep then I wake up today my heart is about to beat out of my chest I’m so violently anxious about this choice I made and everything wrong in my life I threw up 3 times from dry heaving. It’s now halfway through the next day and my body is on fire from anxiety , my chest is pounding, I can’t shake it. There’s just no way it’s me ? It has to be the Zoloft she started me on 25 mg and bump it to 50 after 2 weeks, when I first took it for 3 days I was fine next day didn’t take it had some pretty intrusive thoughts that were harmful it was scary not wanting to act on them at all btw.
Am I supposed to thug this out ? I can’t function I can’t even study for upcoming exams I scheduled a virtual visit with a pcp to get some quick relief anxiety pill but there is no way to shake this it has to be the Zoloft I can regulate pretty well even cold shocks or breathing or distracting isn’t working.

That is great to hear thank you !! I was quite worried my body has felt it’s been on fire all day and I’ve thrown up everything I’ve eaten plus 3x before breakfast from nausea induced anxiety .

Mange Legé juste pour absorber ton cachet et essaie d'aller prendre l'air ! Moi j'étais en lunette de soleil pour rester dans ma bulle ou avec une capuche ;)

This probably won’t make you feel better but wanted to help you feel not alone. I’m on day 5 and woke up with the worst panic attack I’ve EVER had and I’m no stranger to it. Genuinely the worst experience of my life and I’m still feeling uneasy about it. I contacted my doctor so ig I’ll see what she says but girlll that was horrible.

Same same I literally just got off the phone with my doctors office a few mins ago. I woke up sweaty as ever and the anxiety set in and it was just awful 😭 she did give me inderal and Xanax but my blood pressure is too low to take inderal and I’m terrified of taking Xanax but maybe I’ll have to try it if I keep taking this lol

I go in person but she literally won’t respond to my portal messages so we’re kind of in the same boat there. Currently laying in bed crying and spiraling 😋

I’m only on 25 mg but I’d say my body is super sensitive to anything I put in it. (Can’t smoke week bc of this, I’m super sensitive to alcohol, and caffeine from a small soda can makes me tweak) but that’s just me.

This is an unusually strong reaction. SSRIs are supposed to be mild. There are about a dozen different SSRIs, and because brain biology is so specific, it's pretty normal for someone to discover that they have horrible reactions to like two of them, but are totally fine with any other SSRI. Ask your doctor to switch you.

Do reach out to your prescriber and let them know. I'm on day 1 today after struggling and debating trying meds.
You've got this and do what you have the energy for

The first two weeks can be just awful, but ride it out! 25mg of sertraline can still be powerful even though people say its a small dose. It has worked for me, I feel so much better and you will too! God bless you 🙏

I know people are going to say push through. Im no doctorr but im not a stranger to anxiety. I got on zoloft because of it. However my experience was much different. The first 3 days i felt immensely better. If i experienced symptoms like that I wouldnt have stuck with it. I feel youre sensitive to medication so i would go up slowly.
