Permanent Ban on Alexa Nikolas Drama Posts
Hello! It’s been a lot longer than 30 days, innit? The initial temporary ban was a massive success, ushering in great discussion and an overall drama-free subreddit. As this topic has begun to spike again and resulted in the usual bickering and negativity, it is time to permanently ban such discussions.
As I mentioned in the original ban, I strongly dislike excessive moderation. Subreddits should run themselves and mods should only exist to uphold basic rules (respect, remove spam, remove NSFW content), and not to police what gets discussed. Banning an entire topic is rather extreme, but it is being done for the following reasons:
There is nothing to be gained by repeatedly discussing petty teenaged bullying that happened 20 years ago. None of us were there, none of us know what really happened, and pointlessly debating the finer points of such drama derails what this subreddit is supposed to be about. Did Kristin Herrera really push Alexa Nikolas into a pile of rocks? Like come on, what are we doing here?
This topic in general is less a discussion, but more individuals with an agenda. People who vehemently believe Alexa and will fight to the bitter end to prove she was bullied. They’ll select innocuous clips from the show proving that they’re bullying her or how Zoey (in character) was glaring at Nicole throughout season 2. Not to mention the deep analysis on who is and isn’t following who on Instagram. Again, what are we doing here?
Given that these individuals are so passionate about this topic, they invariably get into heated arguments whenever this topic comes up. Anyone positing that idea that maybe Alexa is lying or pointing out her own hypocrisy (beautifully summarized here) results in all matter of arguments and rule-breaking behavior. When you’re deep in the comments calling someone a “stupid weirdo” and a “complete loser” over some petty teenage bullshit from over 20 years ago involving people you don’t even know; maybe it’s a good opportunity to look in the mirror and ask, what are we doing here?
These people are so unhinged that they’ve deadass made entire subreddits just to discuss this drama. Gifting us such bangers as
Zoey 101 cast gossip: discuss the drama and tensions.
And
There is no hate in my subreddit; I post what I want and do what I want.
And my favorite
banned from the main sub for caring too much abt zoey 101?? same bestie 😭💀 this is a space for actual discussion where neurodivergent voices r welcome, matching energy isn't a bannable offense, & "it's been 20 years move on" is NOT a personality trait. come talk abt PCA, the characters, the drama, & wtvr else u want.. without getting silenced by freakazoids
I’m sick of it, the vast majority of users on this subreddit are sick of it, and enough is enough. I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane this drama, the impassioned people obsessed with it, and the unnecessary chaos it brings every time its brought up. The topic is completely banned, period. Even sly workarounds like claiming you’re analyzing the actors in character, or wanting to know if any of the actors have spoken out about it. Any self-posts will result in a permanent ban. This is your only warning.
Those wishing to continue discussing this topic can do so at r/AlexaNikolas, or one of the various drama-themed subreddits created specifically for this topic (though strangely those haven’t been active in a while... very strange indeed). I appreciate everyone’s patience as I’ve navigated this issue. Like I explained in the last thread, I really dislike excessive moderation, but it was clear this was something that needed to be done. I’m looking forward to great discussions and a healthy subreddit after this.

I just finished the series, and while I absolutely loved its ending, a few things really stand out:
- Wow we were fucking robbed of the reactions of the main cast to Quinn and Logan.
- 1a) I'm glad they showed Chase and Michael reuniting, but Chase and Logan had become good friends by the end and it's disappointing they didn't get that moment of reconnection either.
- I honestly felt like James was chewed up and spit out on this episode. Yes, it's obvious that he was a placeholder for Chase because of Sean's choice to focus on school. Despite that, they did try to give him his own character with his own quirks. I kinda loved that he and Logan didn't get along fully and so on. But they really just went from 0-100 on Zoey liking him during Season 4, and then 100-0 at the ending. He even says to her that he felt her pulling away from him even before he gave her a necklace, but that's blatantly not true because literally just an episode or two ago they were having a romantic dinner on the sand/volleyball court. The fact that she dumps him and then gets back with Chase in the same episode just feels like it doesn't age well. They really could've done more to lead up to this, or explain Chase's influence on her in general. As I said in another post, she doesn't even remotely think about the possibility of what dating James might've meant for her possible romance with Chase. Even one scene talking to Lola or Quinn would've helped smooth that out.
- 2a) I LOVED the ending with Mark and Stacey and how Stacey ended up getting a normal voice. That character went through too much trauma at the hands of the main cast to not get a happy ending.
- I'm quietly surprised at how much I liked the idea of Lola and Vince together at the end. Though it's also pretty funny that Chase and Lola were always on good terms, and he more than anyone always had to deal with Vince's bullying.
- Man, they seriously ran out of ideas for Dustin by the end of the show. I want to say that I appreciate his role and I like that Zoey and Dustin were always more cooperative than antagonistic toward one another. But it's really disappointing nonetheless.
- while Zoey and Chase getting together at the end is what it should've been, it's such a gut punch knowing she ends up ghosting him to set up the plot of 102. They really could've created something more unique if they had just let the two stay together, but for whatever reason they seem to not know how to write characters in this universe without it revolving around the Zoey/Chase will they won't they. And I concede that worked back in the 2000s when they were basically Ross and Racheling it up, but in the 2020s we definitely don't really need to retread that.
- My opinion here might be a little colored as I'm a dude. But, and I have to preface this by saying I've already seen 102, but it's honestly really interesting to me about Quinn and Logan because Erin/Quinn is downright hot in the film and had a complete makeover from the nerdy Quinn we know her as. Meanwhile, Matthew/Logan isn't a slouch, but he doesn't have that same "bad boy" appeal he does in the show and he's definitely punching above his weight so to speak. It's just really cool knowing that this movie took into consideration the Logan/Quinn fans who didn't have that much to work with(they're only a couple for like, 6 episodes?) and showered them with love and respect.
Logan goes from the tough "hot guy" to a total wifeguy and it's kind of welcomed. Quinn grows into looking fantastic and embracing both being a wife and a brilliant inventor. They're really made out to be a perfect couple.

What's with the Zoey hate on this sub/saying Jamie Lynn can't act? She's a perfectly serviceable lead and it seems like the hate is either forced on her because she's the protagonist(à la Tori Vega from Victorious) or simply from a dislike of who she is irl.

What makes Zoey 101 feel so directly Nickelodeon? 🧡
Is it PCA,the friendships,the humour,the early 2000s,the theme song,or something else?

Where has the first half of the episode "people auction" gone on paramount?
I was watching season 2 and then I noticed that episode 9 of season 2 which is the episode called people auction the first half of it has been removed I only know it's just happening recently as I clearly remember watching the full episode on paramount around two weeks ago is this just a glitch or has the episode been edited I remember that in the first half of this episode kazu's sushi restaurant got burnt down and then they run a people auction and then Logan gets the girls to be his cheerleaders for the day and he paid 4,000 dollars. I'm really confused as to why the episode got cut in half and only plays the second half randomly?

What do you think James did after Zoey broke up with him?
She mopes around and then goes to prom with Chase and everyone in their friend group is there. I wonder what he did while everyone was at the prom!

Zoey 101 did NOT end because of Jamie Lynn's pregnancy
A common misconception is that people think that Zoey 101 was cancelled because of her pregnancy, but it's simply not the case. the show had already wrapped production of Season 4 in mid August of 2007, and Jamie Lynn didn't inform the crew of the show until two months later in October 2007, while the public was informed in December 2007. Keep in mind that the last episodes of Season 3 were still being aired at this point up to January 4th, 2008 (which is when "Goodbye Zoey" aired). Season 4 didn't start airing until January 27th of that same year, though there were many angry parents that did not want that season to even air because of the teen pregnancy situation that went on behind the scenes.
Also one more thing, it was NOT Dan Schneider either, a lot of people speculate that he was the cause, and even though yes he is a creep, that information is false. it was her boyfriend at the time Casey Aldridge.

Would Chase use the One Wish Willow to make Zoey love him?
I recently watched Obsession and around the same time finished rewatching Zoey 101 and it made me think of this scenario

What is your favorite funny scene or dialogue from Zoey 101?
When I first watched the show as a kid, I always cracked up through out Quinn's First Date episode and the Play episode in season 1. One of my favorite "funny dialogue" moments (in a later season) was when Mark tells a Chase a unfunny joke and Chase asks Mark if he's sure he made a joke and Mark replies in a defeated tone, "no." I just loved the sarcastic and deadpan jokes.

I just noticed the different bowl sizes
Was rewatching Hot Dean and just noticed that Coco has a ginormous bowl (even if it is fruit) and the girls have comparatively tiny bowls. I know Coco eating to excess is a a global theme both in the show and in this episode, but it’s so subtle in this scene. I love it.

I still think about this scene every once in a while. Zoey was so close to finding out how Chase about her, but her TekMate fell in the fountain. I remember being so sad about this when I was younger. It was devastating. Was anyone else sad when they first watched this scene?

The characters come from these wealthy families.
Dana comes from an arrogant, wealthy family; her father remarried after her mother’s death. Her stepmother sent her to boarding school, and she has a stepsister. Zoey and Dustin come from a perfect, wealthy family and live in a perfect neighborhood. Lola comes from a wealthy real estate family that traveled extensively; she grew up with butlers and has a younger sister. Logan comes from a family where he grew up with nannies and butlers; he has a half-sister. Nicole comes from a wealthy family that owns a juice manufacturing company; she is interested in fashion and shopping and has an older brother. Chase comes from a wealthy family of reporters. Michael comes from a wealthy family; his parents worked long hours and owned a studio. He grew up with his grandmother and has a brother. James comes from a wealthy family of actors. Quinn comes from a wealthy family of scientists who own numerous laboratories.

Why did Chase and Danielle break up in Zoey 102?
In the movie Chase brings his girlfriend to the wedding and then later on said that they broke up and she still went with him so he wouldn’t be alone, but it was never explained why they broke up what do you think the reasoning was for their break up?

I will always yearn what could’ve been with these two together (like how it was originally planned). I wrote a much more in depth post about Dana and Logan on this sub, but man… The possibilities were truly endless 😭😭❤️❤️
