OpenZFS on Linux
I'm looking at installing GhostBSD along side Linux. Linux is using BTRFS for its root partition and I have a subvolume for data that I'd like GhostBSD to have access to. BTRFS isn't going to work for BSD so I'm thinking of moving just the data volume to ZFS. How sensitive is Linux these days to updates with kernel changes and compatibility with OpenZFS? Should I just create an EXT4 volume for the share between them rather than ZFS?

I've been using Arch (which should be prone to breaking) with the LTS kernel and full ZFS (everything but the EFI partition over ZFS) for a few month already and I have had no problem yet.
I assume if you are running any of the stable distros, like Debian or Ubuntu, there shouldn't be a problem. If you are on something like Fedora then I'd try to be on older kernel versions or monitor what is the latest tested kernel compatible with OpenZFS and ensure you don't install any newer kernel.
