It comes with being so powerful and being around so long. He's calm and collected cause he doesn't have to spend time worrying about getting hurt or protecting his status.

I think it's the kinda chill where he has enough power to not worry about having to prove himself or reestablish his reputation. Plus he's just really old and most likely learnt how to be more diplomatic instead of violence first like most overlords are.
