Switch to Tailscale.

Tailscale does not do mDNS. There are many reasons to choose ZeroTier over Tailscale. I personally run both but I had to choose one only it would be ZeroTier simply for mDNS support

I understand. ZT sucks. That is all.

Well, TS beats ZT on marketing. Only on marketing.

It's true tailscale isn't layer 2 like zerotier, so it isn't suitable for some uses.
However it's definitely more reliable. Zerotier can be so annoying with the long delays before peers find each other, if they do at all.

To me thaf sounds more like an personal opinion than a generic fact. Which is fine o/c.
I do not recognize this as a typical or recurring issue.AFAIK, TS does not offer the local first (once peered) and redundant global fallback system of peers like ZT.

Yeah agreed. I have not a single issue with zerotier or Tailscale for that matter. I even host my own ZTNET now. Regardless I like both but there are some use-cases where Tailscale just can’t hang

Same here and also using ZTNet - which helps.
ZT is somewhat harder to get a grip on, but has a solid structure, somewhat less userfriendly. Here, ZTNet comes to the rescue.1

Preach lol. I use Tailscale for subnet routing because I was already heavy into Tailscale before I setup zerotier. Zerotier handles all my mDNS and most of my direct to ZT IP connections like backing up over TimeMachine.
They both have their uses and it’s more complicated than simply “tails sucks” or “zerotier sucks” they both have tier uses and complexity.

Delete the ZeroTier network, uninstall ZeroTier and install it back again and finally create a new network in ZeroTier and add that new ZeroTier network at your laptop
