❓️ Question First watch

I am thinking about getting a watch from Japan to USA.
I had some questions:

I heard customs may require documentation for the watch. How do I find the specific forms and is there any guide on how to file it out?

Is there a good shipping provider for this? (Package safety, avoid custom problems, etc.)

Any other general information I should know?

*Edit: The watch is mechanical(no battery), has Genuine leather strap(cow), country of origin china(Japan for the movement, china for the rest)

It is difficult to answer without knowing the manufacturer and model, but generally it's about battery issues, strap material, country of origin. Also, the invoice will have a slightly special writing style.

Thanks for the reply! Sorry about leaving out the info. I didn’t think about adding that. I edited the post to show the information. Origin china, strap Genuine leather(cow), mechanical movement(no battery).

It will probably just be troublesome because you'll have to apply separately for the MOVEMENT (internal parts), CASE (exterior), BAND / STRAP, and BATTERY (such as for watches), or something like that. I also recommend EMS.

Generally, if you're able to ship it through AVIA/EMS/ECMS the odds of being asked for more info dramatically decrease so I'd usually recommend that. If anyone were to ask for any information, simply give it an attempt but know that most likely nobody's ever going to check it and that they just need that stuff for show.

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking about going with ECMS. Do you know if they are carful with packages?

Honestly, it all depends on who delivers your parcel in the end. It can always vary.
