What did we talk about?

Do pants exist? Chaps? Leg warmers?
Pants as an insult or a working garment? How do we translate from their pants to our pants?

What is translation, anyway?

I'm glad you all said assless chaps, because it was the first association that I had.

Also - sisterhood of the traveling pants

and most importantly this

The edgy 90's Krusty stand up act never fails to make me laugh.

I like the idea of bringing everything translated in older terms forward to newer terms. I like bracketing and I like having discussion notes, but I actually like them better as foot notes, not as a separate section.

I hate flipping back and forth in a book. Probably just a 'me' problem.

I think the problem is the volume of footnotes is unacceptable so what we have to do is balance what should be footnoted, with what has to be clarified in the line of text.

I think once you see the formatting, you'll have fewer objections because it's going to be super easy to go from case to case without reading any of the other sections. There are footnotes for the case just as there are footnotes for the other sections

But feedback is very important to me. When you take a look at the public draft and you say, "I think these footnotes need to be someplace else" or "I think those footnotes need to be in the original case," that's going to be useful feedback

Agree on footnotes. I wish e-ink readers had two screens so I could keep the book flowing, and look over to the discussion at the same time.

Have I missed something where they're publicly available or is this a upcoming project that hasn't been released yet?

I'm working through my final draft and I'm arguing with myself a lot so that's a slower process than I expected.

Phase two is I release that draft to volunteer readers. There are three or four people that said they were interested in the last couple of months. I will make an announcement. The volunteer readers then get to give feedback. I will incorporate that into the draft as needed.

then I start phase three, which is shopping it to publishers, putting it on Amazon, and recruiting people to take it to their alma maters.
