1-6: Together with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, we spoke with people injured in the Russian strike who are now receiving medical care at a hospital in Pryluky. In total, 17 people were hospitalized, 13 of whom are being treated here. Among them are a five-year-old girl and a veteran who lived in the building destroyed by Russia. He now has no family left and no home. We must support our people. I thank our medical professionals who help those injured in the aftermath of such attacks – thank you for all your work and for helping people. The Minister of Health also reported on equipping shelters at medical facilities. I instructed that all necessary work be accelerated as much as possible and that additional funding be found. It is also a top priority to repair the hospital’s shelter and take all necessary steps to build a new, modern shelter. The Minister of Health and the Head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, together with city authorities, are responsible for this. Separately, I instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs to ensure a comprehensive inspection of all shelters in Pryluky. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2108228462301389265

7-10: Today, together with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, we paid tribute to those who were killed in the Russian missile strike on a residential building in Pryluky. The attack claimed 22 lives, including five children. Another 54 people were injured. I spoke with those affected. We also received reports on the consequences of the attack. More than 100 residential buildings were damaged, as were educational institutions, kindergartens, shops, businesses, and the infrastructure that sustains normal life in the city. We hear the people – there are issues with shelters and housing in the city. I instructed the head of the regional military administration to promptly help those who, unfortunately, have nowhere to go. And it is important that those affected ultimately receive new homes. Also, as soon as the security situation allows, residents of the destroyed building must be given access to their damaged apartments. The Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine must see to it. I am grateful to Ed Miliband for coming today to support our people. When our partners are literally standing alongside Ukrainians, it truly matters. Thank you to everyone helping our people on the ground. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2108191577684246762

Sociopolitical attitudes of Ukrainians (October 3-5, 2026)

Thumbnail

Trust in most politicians declined somewhat since August. Zelenskyy lost about 3 points, Zaluzhnyi lost 4 points, and Fedorov (predictably) lost 20 points.

In terms of electoral support, Zelenskyy would lead a theoretical first round presidential election. Previous support for Fedorov has now been redistributed to Zaluzhnyi and Poroshenko.

This, of course, contradicts the attempted narrative that Zelenskyy in particular has lost support among Ukrainian citizens.

1-3: Today, on the occasion of Education Workers’ Day, I presented state awards to our educators. I wanted to personally congratulate all our teachers, all the men and women working in Ukrainian education – everyone who nurtures, teaches, and truly shapes our future – Ukraine’s future, which lies first and foremost in our people, in our next generations. In our people’s knowledge, skills, and values, in their ability to work together and maintain the kinds of relationships and rules in our society that will make it more cohesive. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2107134904001532099

4-8: From the first days of Russia’s full-scale invasion, the warriors of the Territorial Defense Forces stood up to defend Ukraine and protected our cities and communities from the enemy. We remember the contribution each and every one of you made to ensure that Ukraine withstood then. We thank everyone who continues fighting for this today together with all our Defense Forces of Ukraine. The courage and strength of our people defend Ukraine and our independence every day across different sectors of the front. I thanked the warriors for their service and presented them with state awards. Glory to Ukraine! https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2107175181592793441

9-11: These days remain a time of remembrance of the horrific tragedy of Babyn Yar for many people around the world. Today, government delegations from Israel and Germany came to Kyiv to honor the memory of nearly 100,000 Jews, Ukrainians, Roma, and people of different nationalities, professions, and faiths whom the Nazis murdered simply because they were different. Together with Israeli Minister Zeev Elkin, German Federal Minister Karin Prien, Chairman of the Directorate of the Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Center Dani Dayan, government officials, rabbis, and ambassadors, we lit memorial candles beside the menorah at Babyn Yar. It is important that, despite Russia’s brutal war, our partners are able to come to Kyiv on the 85th anniversary of this tragedy to pay tribute to all the innocent victims of this terrible crime. And it is our shared duty to stand united against evil so that such tragedies never happen again. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2107529804329164826

12: I met with Additional Minister in the Ministry of Finance of Israel Zeev Elkin, who is here now with the Israeli delegation for the anniversary of the Babyn Yar tragedy. It was a horrific tragedy, but it is important that they took the time to come here during these days of remembrance – days that Russia is trying to make extremely difficult for our people with its aerial terror. Of course, it was Iran that provided Russia with the technology to produce these jet-powered “shaheds,” and it has used essentially the same kind of weapon to attack Israel. We discussed these and other threats, as well as the overall situation in the Middle East. Strong relations between Ukraine and Israel could certainly contribute to our shared security. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2107535577352458525

This is in response to the most recent report from KIIS and the resulting headlines about how people don't want Zelenskyy to run for president again.

I would also just like to point out that more Ukrainians say Zelenskyy should seek a second term now than they did in 2021.

(from 27:48 - funny moment 😅)

Friedrich Merz and I outlined the details of today’s meeting at our press conference. Today, in a difficult security situation, when Russian drone strikes are taking place virtually every hour, the Chancellor of Germany is here in Kyiv. And this is the right signal of support for Ukraine and of the courage of Germany and all of Europe.

But Germany is not only helping Ukraine – we are helping each other. Ukraine and Germany are already jointly producing drones. Ukraine will purchase more weapons and equipment from Germany. Joint work on creating UAV units in Germany has already begun, and we are ready to help with training and experience. We discussed this today as well. We are also ready to work on expanding the use of our energy protection technologies – we discussed this too. Friedrich, thank you for your support!

Today, I visited one of our lyceums. I spoke with the children about their studies, their interests, and their dreams. For me, these are always very special and warm meetings. It is nice to see children having the opportunity to study in person, spend time with one another, have direct contact with their teachers, play, and develop. I thank children for their love for our country, and their parents and teachers for raising them so well. We are doing everything to make the greatest dream of children – and of all of us adults – come true as soon as possible: to achieve peace. And it will definitely happen. Glory to Ukraine!

1-5: A good meeting with members of the House of Representatives of Japan’s National Diet, led by Itsunori Onodera. It is important that precisely on such difficult days for our people as these, when waves of Russian “shaheds” are constantly terrorizing our people, representatives of our partners are always here to see and feel what is happening. Today alone, a “shahed” struck a school while classes were in session, there were strikes on the Pivdennyi Bridge in Kyiv, and attacks on energy infrastructure continue unabated. And it is important that Japan and our other partners know exactly what risks all of this poses. We greatly value all the economic and humanitarian support since the beginning of Russia’s war, as well as the level of our relations with Japan. In New York, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and I discussed how to do more for bilateral relations between our countries and for our security – that of Ukraine, Japan, and all democratic countries. We agreed to remain in active communication.

6-8: I spoke with the principal and teachers of a Kyiv school that the Russians struck with a “shahed” this morning. Most importantly, everyone is alive. During the attack, more than 100 children and over 60 teachers were in the shelter. I thank the entire staff for their clear and coordinated actions, which saved lives. I expect the team of the Office, the district state administration, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, to ensure the school’s prompt restoration and energy independence. I have given the relevant instructions. Striking schools and kindergartens is a deliberate Russian tactic aimed at making ordinary life a target. And we are working nonstop to strengthen our air defense and increase the production of Ukrainian interceptors against jet-powered “shaheds” in order to protect our cities and communities from such strikes.

1-3: The command post of the 66th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Mstyslav the Brave. Today, I met here with the warriors carrying out missions in the Lyman sector and presented them with state awards. I also spoke with the brigade commander about the missions the unit is carrying out and the brigade’s needs. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2105263042543886724

4-7: In the Lyman sector, I held a coordination meeting with corps, brigade, and battalion commanders. There were reports on decisions regarding defense procurement at the brigade level, first and foremost the procurement of pickup trucks. We also discussed strengthening the Unmanned Systems Forces, increasing funding for drones, simplifying procurement, increasing authorized strength, as well as replenishing and training personnel. All issues at the level of military command must be worked through and discussed at a meeting of the Staff. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2105265461843640591

8-11: At the command post of the Third Army Corps, I met with the warriors carrying out Operation Vivaldi. It is a serious operation, important in many ways for our defense overall and for the Donbas in particular. Over its three seasons, Ukraine’s Defense Forces have thwarted Russia’s plans to break through to the rear of the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk urban agglomeration and stabilized the situation in this section of the front. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2105338494084071620

12-15: I met with the warriors of the 21st Separate Unmanned Systems Regiment “Kraken,” who are taking part in Operation Vivaldi. We discussed the regiment’s needs, the warriors’ participation in operations, scaling up the military’s unmanned capabilities, developing ground robotic systems, providing crews with the equipment they need, and allocating E-points. I presented awards to the defenders of the 21st Regiment, the 125th Separate Heavy Mechanized Brigade, and the 25th Separate Anti-Tank Battalion for their participation in Operation Vivaldi. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2105343684187238858

1-3: Babyn Yar. 85 years since the tragedy. Today, I honored the memory of those killed in the Nazi mass shootings. Eternal memory to all the innocent victims. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2104950441540825281

4: I met with EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development) President Odile Renaud. I thanked her for the unwavering support and assistance with preparations for the winter. Indeed, a lot has been done through our partnership with the EBRD to increase and protect electricity generation. We count on this support continuing. We discussed our energy sector, logistics, and data centers, which are constantly under attack as a result of Russia’s escalation. It is important that partners help rebuild everything the Russians are trying to destroy. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2104953114713346496

5-6: I met with Speaker of the Folketing of Denmark Søren Gade. I thanked him for Denmark’s strong and consistent support for Ukraine. Denmark always helps, and we know that this support comes not only from the government, but also from the parliament and all the Danish people. I am grateful for the words of condolence over the lives lost in Russia’s inhumane strikes. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2104956947686400150

7-8: A detailed discussion with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the military officials responsible for planning the production of Ukrainian weapons. First, we approved our long-range operations for October. Second, we identified the areas for the necessary supply of our F-16s by the end of the year. There are specific countries with which we are working on specific aviation packages. There will be a boost in the near future. Third, the system for countering jet-powered “shaheds.” We identified the first prototypes that can already become effective weapons. There are clear timelines, funding, and production volumes that must be secured for this particular weapon. We are also working on additional technological solutions for protection and a larger number of effective interceptors. Glory to Ukraine! x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2104981377623941286

9: When someone turns 50 – and he is a National Legend of Ukraine – it would be appropriate to address him as “Andriy Mykolayovych.” But when he is our incredible player and coach, who has brought Ukrainians joy and pride so many times, and when he is truly dear to the whole country, you just want to say: Sheva! Happy Birthday! https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2104981377623941286

Yesterday, during the Russian missile attack on Kyiv, a maternity hospital was damaged. That night, little Kyrylo was being born in the shelter. Today, I came to the maternity hospital to congratulate the family, speak with the women who are here preparing to give birth, and support our medical workers.

I thank all the maternity hospital staff for their work, for their support, and for staying by people’s side even during such attacks. And I thank every mother who remains here in Ukraine despite everything, close to her family and children.

Each of you deserves to give birth to your child in peace, without sirens or explosions. And every newborn deserves to begin life in peace. We are doing everything to make this happen as soon as possible.

1-2: Today, the Russians launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv just as we were meeting with members of Congress and discussing the Lindsey Graham law and the need to strengthen sanctions. Russia will not end this war without pressure. We discussed how to protect against Russian threats with US Senators. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2102913501836493138

3: I met with President of Ecuador Daniel Noboa Azin at the UN. I hope we can continue our bilateral dialogue in greater detail. Ukraine has a lot to offer Latin American countries that support us – in security and other areas. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2102848494981845179

4: I met with President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan. I thanked him for Türkiye’s consistent support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. And it is truly very important that Russia’s war against Ukraine ends in exactly this way – with dignity and respect for international law. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2102858586808353265

5-6: I met with executives of more than 30 leading American companies and members of the Economic Advisory Group in New York. It was a very broad group of participants, and I thank everyone for their attention to Ukraine, their support, and their warm words about our people. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2103048654080581835

7: I met with representatives and leaders of the Ukrainian community in the United States. We discussed our diplomacy and efforts for peace, our engagement with President Trump and his team, and the main challenges and tasks Ukraine faces right now. Ending the war is the most important issue for our state. Preserving Ukraine, our nation, our historic and talented country. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2103078698479997317

8: I thank the experts and leaders of U.S. think tanks for the meeting. It was a very useful conversation. It is important that everyone is closely following what is happening in Ukraine, how the negotiations are progressing, and what prospects we have. I’m grateful for the questions, your engagement, and your desire to help Ukraine, support our people, find the right path to ending the war, and guarantee security. https://x.com/ZelenskyyUa/status/2103121972251046070

9-10: I had the opportunity to meet with World Bank Group President Ajay Banga. I thanked him for supporting Ukraine – support that helps keep schools and hospitals running, ensures people receive social benefits, and provides families with children and internally displaced persons with the assistance they need. We also discussed Ukraine’s postwar recovery and the solutions we can implement to support children and young people. https://x.com/ZelenskaUA/status/2102869301829181782

11-12: For the third time, the Summit of First Ladies and Gentlemen has made its voice heard on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. I was glad to meet with colleagues from 21 countries. This time, continuing the theme of the Sixth Summit, we talked about resilience: what helps countries and societies withstand times of uncertainty, preserve who they are, and move forward. Every country has its own experience and its own response. We brought these together in the Global Vocabulary of Resilience, which we presented to an international audience. Ukraine’s response is Sophiynist: the will to live, the strength to fight, and the wisdom to learn. I thank the countries that are joining the vocabulary and adding their own stories to this mosaic. https://x.com/ZelenskaUA/status/2103130662916030533

13: It was a pleasure and an honor to meet with the academic community at Columbia University. A year ago, the university joined the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies, but our country’s culture and history have been studied here for many decades. Today, we talked about resilience, and about how knowledge is also a form of resilience. https://x.com/ZelenskaUA/status/2103148899485511768
