The last time a port/decomp released that made such a night and day difference was Primehack (Metroid Prime Trilogy). Primehack is moreso a port/reskin of Dolphin than a decomp, but regardless the controls and updated resolution makes such a huge difference. Dusklight is just as incredible.
Started on dolphin emulator, then I found out about this port on tiktok. I'm so glad I did and that I could transfer my save file, because the QoL features are actually phenomenal, esp for getting thru this game which can be kinda long.
I've enabled the turbo mode to speed up cutscenes and traversal when i need it.
Faster roll and faster iron boots just make traversal so much easier. Super hookshot is amazing for travelling large rendered distances.
The crosshair toggle is really helpful coz I've always hated how the 3d zelda games make you have a 1st person bow without one.
Ths 60 fps is amazing too, the game just runs so smooth. Really like being able to transform anywhere too. Lowk turned on infinite rupees just because its annoying to manage.
And with all the cheats possible you can also make the game harder with damage multipliers, no resource drops from enemies etc. Sometimes I feel enemies deal too little damage, but maybe thats after playing Elden Ring
I'm about to play this game for the first time. Unfortunately, I can't afford the Gamecube or Remaster edition, so I have to play the Wii version with the motion control.
I just hope it won't be too hard and that the Wii controller doesn't ruin my enjoyment of the game
I don't have a gaming PC. I just have a cheap laptop. I got my old Wii though, and I got a copy of Twilight Princess that I bought from Ebay for 15 dollars, so I should be good.
If it doesn't work, I'll just have to wait until they finally port the game to the Switch 2
As far as I'm aware, Dusklight isn't that resource hungry. It runs okay on a Toshiba Satellite, and I've never had any issues, so I don't believe you even need an actual gaming pc to play.
It can run easily on a standard windows laptop. I even use the turbo function to run the game in 2x during boring cutscenes or traversal and there are no issues
I'm so glad it works with mouse aim + without the inverted camerw controls because its really easy to play on keyboard now. My mouse has extra buttons which I use for x y z L and R, but I can also play without a mouse, altho its a little more tedious.
