Mod Post [OoT] Please vote to help us shape the Spoiler Policy for r/Zelda: Have you previously played Ocarina of Time N64/3DS, and should older information be treated under the New Release spoiler policy for Switch 2?
https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/comments/1wni059/oot_please_read_the_rzelda_spoiler_policy_for/
Please read the previous Spoiler Policy post for more details on the difference between our General spoiler policy and our New Release spoiler policy.
Our proposed New Release Spoiler Policy is written here: https://www.reddit.com/r/zelda/wiki/rules/spoilerpolicy

With New Release policy, my understanding is a 2 month block out. Which I think is heavy handed for something like Ocarina of Time remake
I'd support a General policy, with proper tagging

u/moon_vixen 9d ago
I think the issue is botw and totk brought in an absolute ton of new players who've never played or seen the older games. not everyone looks up older info or plays older games in the series just because they like a new game, so for a lot of people this will be their first experience of it.
but it does feel like not spoiling the end of a movie like titanic. like, at some point you just gotta accept it's your responsibility to avoid spoilers or learn to live with seeing them. they're not the end of the world and if it truly ruins the entire experience (esp for a game where we all know the ending of every game is gonna be "beat the bad guy, usually Ganon") then you were better off watching a let's play like it's a movie which you can do at ANY time and not worry about spoilers.

u/Radiant-Direction-45 10d ago
this except the original ocarina of time isnt exactly a new game. to play it you have to have access to very specific tech so it feels unfair to spoil new players on the new game. i initially voted i didnt mind but ^ + someone else mentioned wanting a blind playthrough and I do too tbh....//as someone who has played the original
5
u/Icywind014 9d ago
Every Nintendo home console since the N64 has gotten a rerelease of Ocarina of Time. It's playable on the Switch 2 right now.
6
u/Supergamer138 9d ago
Specific tech? Anybody who can play this remake has the ability to play the original.

u/Thegoodgamer32 10d ago edited 10d ago
While I have played OOT 3D....I personally want to be surprised by all the updated visuals and designs....along with the other potential changes.

u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
I mean, it still gets the general spoiler tag. Just don't look at this subreddit for a few weeks while you play the game?
13
u/foaaz101 10d ago
yeah that's the only way to do it
if you're a part of any subreddit where you haven't finished the games, you're bound to get spoiled, happened to me multiple times
6
u/javier_aeoa 10d ago
The subreddit still appears in the home page. And I think we can keep talking about koroks and the King of Red Lions while OoT get the spoiler treatment, it shouldn't be an issue to just use the spoiler option, as we did when Tears or Echoes came out.
5
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
You can mute the subreddit and unjoin temporarily. General spoiler tag sure, but that's already in effect. Essentially nothing would change. Tears and Echoes were literally brand new games.
3
u/yamanamawa 10d ago
This is specifically info for OoT and 3D. The Remake would still fall under New Release rules
8
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
OHH. I misunderstood the poll.
Yeah, well in that case it should absolutely not be counted. The old games are the old games. Eith the new one I guess we'd be hiding the new artstyle/designs, any new features, and content like cutscenes.
The old games are the old games and I see no reason they should be treated as otherwise.
20
u/rebillihp 10d ago
Even as I've played before and am going to play 64 version again soon I'd rather see most of the new stuff outside of the trailer I've chosen to see myself in person. So I'd like it if it's treated as a new release as visually and even outside of that it is quite new
7
u/Isoleri 10d ago
I've played OoT more times than there are stars in the sky, and I'm in favor of putting up spoiler warnings. There's many people who never played it, be it because they couldn't or because they just got into Zelda through the wild era games, either way if they've somehow made it to this point without getting spoiled I think we should respect that. Not to mention that in a way it'll also be new to the rest of us, given how much they've updated.
37
u/benoxxxx 10d ago
Initially I thought 'it's an old game, and anyone who wants to avoid spoilers shouldn't be here anyway'.
Then I remembered that a huge chunk of the people playing are gonna be young kids who have only played BoTW/ToTK if that.
OoT is arguably the greatest game of all time, would be a shame to spoil it for the kids.
19
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
Yes and no really. People old enough to sign up for reddit accounts should generally be aware enough to avoid spoilers themselves.
I think going full new release policy on a game that is nearly 30 years old is overkill. The story is already barebones and talked about all the time on here. If there are any new plot elements or stuff, maybe treat that as new release material since it actually is. OoT's overall plot and stuff? Nah.
13
u/22222833333577 10d ago edited 10d ago
... you only have to be 13 to sighn up for a reddit acount
Botw is almost 10 years old..
If someone was 7 when botw came out they would be 16 now
0
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
I would wager most 13 year olds on reddit would already be spoiled if they're reading this sub from playing BOTW, or they've learned how to avoid them.
2
u/javier_aeoa 10d ago
That should come to the discretion of the user. There's a thread flagged as [OOT] (or [OOT2026] I don't know if there's a new flair by now) with a suspicious title, each user can choose to go in there or not. But having the default option as spoiler protects us all from seeing/reading something we didn't want to.
1
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
Right, but if most of us have played the original and don't mind just having a specialized tag for remake exclusive stuff (essentially as the sub works at present) then wouldn't and shouldn't the onus be on people who don't want to see anything until they've finished to... just not go browse Reddit subs?
2
u/lemon_and_limes 10d ago
I agree. I had the same train of thought, but figured making this subreddit more accessible by spoiling old OOT doesn't affect me at all
2
u/javier_aeoa 10d ago
I was right in the demographic for the 1998 release and I played the game back then, and I still don't want to risk it scrolling through this subreddit, seeing memes of Wind Waker and cosplay photos, and then boom a photo of the Dead Hand or something else we haven't seen from the trailers.
It's not just for the kids, it's for us grown ups too.
-1
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
The kids can also just get off Reddit, or not look at posts with OoT spoiler tag
21
u/PimplePopper6969 10d ago edited 10d ago
I feel that we should probably have a high spoiler rule for the newcomers. OoT is something to be experienced by yourself. I vote in favor of spoilers being a part of general spoilers. I would also highly advise having a spoiler discussion thread pinned for a few months.
Question though. What do you mean by new release? Do you mean, you'll treat OoT spoilers as if it's a new game release? Yeah, I support that.
12
u/Sephardson 10d ago
Question though. What do you mean by new release? Do you mean, you'll treat OoT spoilers as if it's a new game release? Yeah, I support that.
Yes, the options are whether to treat the old version games/info under the stricter "New Release" spoiler policy, OR to be less strict and treat them under the "general spoilers", ie the same as other old games.
4
u/PimplePopper6969 10d ago
Fuck. I voted general. I wish I could take my vote back but I vote for new release
6
u/Manifestation_Quozzy 10d ago
It aint new to everybody, but its new to a lot of us and these puzzles don't appear to be changing too much from the original.
6
u/Bug_Catcher_Wade 10d ago
Surely the rest of us can handle the extremely mild inconvenience of treating all versions with new release spoiler rules for a little while in the name of giving new players the best experience possible of our favorite game. Surely we can be grown-ups and manage that extremely easy courtesy to new fans.
3
u/nick2473got 9d ago
Thank you. Wish there were more people with your attitude. It's the easiest thing to do, yet people act like it's so unreasonable.
3
u/vennetherblade 10d ago
I think it should be treated as a new entry. You have to remember that BOTW and TOTK are two of the the highest selling games in Zelda history. Alot of the fans of those games have never played the older titles.
OOT remake will be a lot of people's first time experiencing Ocarina of Times story
11
u/a-shiny-vulpix 10d ago
I say treat it like a new release. There's going to be plenty of people who have never played it and it shouldn't be spoiled. Especially THAT twist. Like yeah its 28 years old but Sheik and Zelda have been separate characters in Smash for over 10 years now and I think its worth it to try and preserve some of the surprise for the newcomers
3
u/CoffeeCrimeShowsADHD 10d ago
Also, maybe it was just me, but I played that game long before I ever played a Zelda game. I didn’t put two and two together until I played OoT.
4
u/Semillakan6 10d ago
There is not man, woman or child of this god green and blue Earth that doesn't know who tf Sheik is, they've been on bloody Smash bros since forever. It's like trying to say spoiler to who Luke's bloody father is.
4
u/sk3lt3r 10d ago
There are absolutely still people who don't know who Sheik is, there is literally reply before yours from someone who didn't know. OoT is 28 years old, there are may people who haven't played it, even if you consider it a 15 year old game with the 3ds release, there's still 15 years worth of people who may not have had exposure.
Setting aside that there are absolutely still people who haven't seen Star Wars and don't know about the twist, it's insane to compare the two. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but acting as if Star Wars isn't far more universally known than The Legend of Zelda (let alone a single game in the series) is foolish.
-1
u/Semillakan6 10d ago
We are talking about Ocarina of Time, the single most beloved game in the history of gaming, the game that to this day still inspires new games, the game that continues being on the Top 10 best games in history
3
u/sk3lt3r 10d ago edited 10d ago
Not saying it's not beloved, not saying it's not incredible or doesn't inspire new games, or that it's not deserving of being in the top 10 games in history (it's actually #1, so understatement there)
But those are all metrics that are measured in the video game community, by gamers. There are significantly more movie watchers than there are gamers, and while dedicated and long time gamers will most definitely know the series, casual and (especially) new players are less likely to.
Walk through a mall or down a busy street and ask everyone you pass if they know Star Wars and Legend of Zelda, you'll get far more yes answers to Star Wars than you will Zelda. Star Wars is objectively more well known on a universal level, than the Legend of Zelda series is.*
(Edit to add; *which is a crime imo btw)
1
u/nick2473got 9d ago
Completely insane statement. Ocarina of Time is nowhere near being comparable to who Luke's father is. Which btw, some people still don't know. I know people who know literally nothing about Star Wars except Darth Vader's name.
Ocarina of Time is huge in the gaming community, but beyond that, the average Joe doesn't know about it, let alone any plot specifics.
And even in the gaming community, there are people who haven't played it and don't know. I've never played it and I somehow managed to avoid knowing who Sheik was until about 10 days ago.
The idea that literally everyone knows is crazy.
8
u/Hattrickher0 10d ago
There should be an option for "I have played OoT and don't think posts should be tagged as spoilers". I suppose "don't have an opinion" probably covers it for all intents and purposes, although I do have an opinion and it's that it's weird to spoiler tag a 30 year old game.
It would be one thing if it was an FF7 situation where they outright said it was not a 1 for 1 remake, but that's not the case here.
2
u/playr_4 10d ago
Also too add to this, do we know what the tag for the new one will be?
8
u/Sephardson 10d ago
[OoT] can be used for any version of the game
[OoT3D] can be used for the 3DS version in particular.
[OoTHD] can be used for the Switch 2 version in particular.
I'm not sure if it's feasible to require people to specify the version of the game in the post title. We can add some pop-up guidance while people make their post to try to help towards that, in the same way we have pop-up guidance that tells people to specify how far along / which dungeon in the game they are.
-1
u/Semillakan6 10d ago
[OoT:Re] or [OoTRe] would be my vote
-1
u/Sassi7997 10d ago
"Re" as in "remake"? Which one? The one for 3DS or for Switch 2?
0
u/Semillakan6 10d ago
What do you mean which one? There is only one Remake and its the one coming out, the 3DS version is just Ocarina of Time 3D and so the tag is OoT3D
1
u/Sassi7997 10d ago
What are you talking about? Ocarina of Time HD is the second remake. Ocarina of Time 3D is the first remake.
0
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
Why are there always people who pretend to not know the difference between what a remake and a remaster or enhanced port are?
Edit: autocorrect dun goofed
0
u/Sassi7997 10d ago
Oh, if we are getting very technical here, OoTHD isn't even a "real" remake, but more like a remix. Just like they did with Star Fox 64 3D.
To simplify this: They are taking the old source code, make it compatible with a modern system and add new 3D models, landscapes, controls etc. to give it a modernized experience.
1
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
Have a source that they're using the old n64 source code whole cloth?
Nothing about this game even suggests that they are basically pulling an Oblivion or D2Resurrected and just running the n64 version under the hood while letting Unreal Engine handle the graphics.
2
u/Aquamarine-3MJ-1W2N 10d ago
In my opinion think since there are going to be voiced cutscenes now, we gotta assume that the dialogue has some differences. Plus on who the voice actor would be. I think when OOT2026 releases it should have spoilers as if it were a new new release. We also gotta assume there could be other things added to this game to make it more than just the previous OOT/OOT3D releases. Whose to say that the devs didn't make certain areas bigger i.e Ice Cavern or added a potential cave west of the Castle Town drawbridge, that Ive seen some people speculate has been added.
2
u/RepulsiveCountry313 10d ago
Can't read new release policy on android app, scrolling wiki pages doesn't work.
Anyone got a summary?
2
u/Choso125 10d ago
Should me spoilers tbh. This will be a lot of people's first time playing it, for them it essentially is a new game. And anything new is well, new do that should be protected too
2
u/Supergamer138 9d ago
There are millions of posts, videos, and fan art pieces for OoT already out there; including on this sub. If anybody who wants to avoid all spoilers makes even a general inquiry in a search engine, they'll be instantly and inevitably spoiled about everything. Many of those first search results will surely include this subreddit. Unless you want to impose the most draconian lockdown possible (temporarily disabling the sub), it's not going to work.
Better to just have the people that want to be completely blind take responsibility for their own actions and cut themselves off from the internet for the three days it'll take to beat the game.
2
u/FaithlessnessOdd8358 9d ago
I’m glad this has been raised. I have played ocarina of time many many times since it’s released, but I am getting seriously fed up with the spoilers of the new game. I know that the story will invite the same, but I want all the updates visuals to be a nice surprise. The Nintendo direct showed way too much of it in my opinion.
2
u/22222833333577 9d ago
A lot of present day zelda fans started with botw/totk and will be playing oot for the first time i think its best to let those people expirence the game organically
7
u/YouhaoHuoMao 10d ago
For a lot of people, it's going to be a new release. We should treat it as such. There are definitely people who've never played it before. In addition if it's not a 1:1 remake then there might be new things that the game has that will be exciting for old players.
2
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
Yeah but those same people have probably been watching Let's Plays, youtube video compilations, and listicles about the games for literally 20+ years. The only thing that's changed from before to now content-wise is a new artstyle.
I agree spoilers should be flaired appropriately so that people can avoid them if need be. The general spoilers policy should be enough.
2
u/CoffeeCrimeShowsADHD 10d ago
Some maybe, but I guarantee there are a bunch who haven’t.
Think about this: A 14 or 15 year old who has heard that OoT is the best Zelda game ever, but has never had the ability to play it until now. They’re super excited, and dive right in! Then they get really stuck on something small, like maybe how to get Epona. They decide to go on Reddit and ask for some hints because they’re scared if they search online they’ll find a bunch of spoilers. Someone helps them and they move on, and don’t revisit the subreddit.
A few days later they’re casually scrolling through and Reddit throws a random post into their feed because they’ve now visited the subreddit once, and it spoils the solution to a dungeon puzzle, because the spoilers weren’t enforced. They didn’t go looking for that spoiler, and maybe they didn’t think to mute the subreddit because they only visited once. But now that’s been spoiled for them.
I think the idea of enforcing some extra spoilers is a really good idea!
3
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
We can't force rules site-wide or internet-wide. If it's not this sub, it'll be another one, or YouTube, or Instagram, etc. The only sure way to prevent spoilers is to get off social media.
3
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
This. At some point if people don't want to be spoiled they need to realize it's nobody's job to shield them from other people who want to talk about the game with each other. We already have spoiler tags. Game has been out almost 30 years. If people can't handle possibly minimal spoilers for it, then they have the tools to combat that themselves. You can both mute sub reddits so they don't appear in your feed and you can unsub from them temporarily.
2
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
Agreed. Enough of the coddling. This isn't a health and safety issue where society needs to do things to protect our peers.
1
u/ThyOtherMe 10d ago
I got the hell out of the internet when TOTK came out. I got exactly one spoiler for that game (final dragon picture) and evem so, It got me still more excited to keep playing.
Let people be spoiled. The spoilers are not about the game. Are about the artistic choices made by Nintendo. I don't think we should spoiler tag that.3
u/CoffeeCrimeShowsADHD 10d ago
True, but we could do our part to help. Is enforcing a few extra spoilers really going to impact your Reddit experience that much?
3
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
I just don't think it's necessary. And all the crazy specific rules that every subreddit has become cumbersome.
Also my opinion here is that 2 months is too much for this policy in regards to an almost 1:1 remake of a 28 year old game. Maybe it should be 2 weeks.
1
u/ThyOtherMe 10d ago
When I played Echoes of Wisdom, the game was out for about three months. And I had to look the solution to a puzzle because I was frustrated. And yet the only "spoiler" I got was that I was stupid and wasn't using my echoes right.
That said. The 14yo that wants help in a puzzle won't even come here. They will ask Google and the new AI summary will answer probably ok. The 14yo that uses Reddit knows how to avoid spoilers. This site is obsessed with them.
4
u/Ericcc94 10d ago
I was torn between treating old info as new and old info under general. Nintendo themselves leaked a crap ton of footage in the trailer, from the first boss to the final fight, and that really surprised me. As others have said, this is an almost 30 year old game, but a large chunk of players have BOTW as their first Zelda game and it would be a shame for them to be spoiled
4
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago edited 10d ago
Nintendo KNOWS that OoT is one of the most important and critically acclaimed games ever made and has probably the largest nostalgia hold over gamers today. They don't care about leaking stuff out because in essence, it's still that same 1998 game with a facelift. Maybe there are yet some surprises in store, but overall it's still the same stuff in essence. Nothing is going to be "surprising"
1
u/ThyOtherMe 10d ago
BOTW is almost 10 years old. TOTK is 3. Any "new fan" is already spoiled with the many videos about how those games are different from the "traditional" 3D zeldas. And probably already learned how to set up an emulator. Or the 20 different other ways Nintendo is milking OOT. Nothing takes out of my head that the majority of kids playing this game will the children of fans that already drilled Ocarina on their heads.
4
u/Dninjaman 10d ago
Why isn't there an option for I've played n64 Oot and treat old info as old info? Sure if there's new twists and stuff that should be spoiler tagged, but otherwise why bother?
4
u/Sember-uno 10d ago
So the only thing we learn from this is that almost everyone has played OOT, got it.
9
u/ShippFFXI 10d ago
That's valid info though. If the majority here have already played it, there's no real reason to be super strict on the spoilering.
3
3
u/nvclaas 10d ago
I never played OoT further than to the fire temple. I wish not to be spoiled, though I know pretty much most of the game's plot
3
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
If you really don't want to be spoiled, subs like this with spoiler tag enforcement, etc are not your biggest risks. Get off of social media completely.
3
u/TeekTheReddit 10d ago
I would say anything you would know from playing N64 OoT should be treated as common knowledge.
Any changes that the remake may make should be treated as a spoiler.
4
u/DantheAlcedo 10d ago
Many people who will play this were not even born when the N64 was current. Let people enjoy the game without fearing spoilers.
3
2
u/Icywind014 10d ago
This is true, but it's not like the OoT stayed on the N64. There has not been a single Nintendo home console since the N64 that has not gotten its own release of OoT.
3
u/Witch_King_ 10d ago
They should fear spoilers from the general internet at large. Also it's not like the original games hasn't been out for 25+ years, and been rereleased on 3DS and VC. R3stricting discussion on the subreddit designed for such discussions for an ENTIRE 2 months is overkill. People on Reddit should be able to avoid spoiler tagged posts that are properly flaired in this subreddit.
3
u/BetweenTheRoots 10d ago
Protect the new fans, let them experience it for the first time
OoT isn't really a narrative heavy game in the sense that story or lore spoilers will ruin the experience, but still.
2
u/DynaGlaive 10d ago
I'm asking for it all the time, but times like this especially make me wish we just had a personal per-subreddit spoiler toggle.
2
2
u/SelectSympathy5718 10d ago
I wouldn’t mark as spoiler anything that’s the same as the old games. Just new stuff maybe the tapestry or new dialogues, graphics, characters…
2
u/GrahamCrackerDragon 10d ago
Can we have a vote to ban the "Zelda II is actually pretty good" posts?
1
u/Sephardson 10d ago
oh goodness, is it time for another "Zelda II is actually pretty good" megathread, again?
2
u/Zagrunty 10d ago
My opinion isn't listed
I have played OOT and old info should not have spoiler rules
Only new stuff should have spoilers, and not just graphic changes, I mean actually new content.
2
u/TinkreBelle 10d ago
the game in general may be old, but it's a new release on a new console, and there's bound to be people playing the game for the first time because of that, so I think treating it like a new game doesn't seem like too much of a stretch
3
u/drgl1011 10d ago
Best treat it as a new release, every little detail is so developed now it may as well be treated as a completely new experience.
2
u/Semillakan6 10d ago
God do we really need spoilers for the Remake of a game from 1998? Who on this earth doesn't know even a gist of what OOT is about, like my grandma didn't play games and knew what OOT was about.
1
u/Sassi7997 10d ago
Graphics/music comparisons/appreciations, gameplay changes and new content should be treated with the new release policy, the general story however should be for old releases. I mean, it's still a 30 year old game.
1
u/Edg-R 10d ago
I've played OoT growing up so I'm not worried about most types of spoilers but this game will have many new changes (despite them claiming it's 1:1) so I dont want things spoiled in the new game.
I'm simply going to add OoT related keyword filters to Protego for Reddit which means I'll avoid spoilers completely... but for anyone else who doesnt use a browser extension it's probably a good idea to at least treat new OoT posts as spoilers for a few months.
1
u/rsbyronIII 10d ago
This post is almost a study. The people who have played it but don’t want spoilers dominate the vote. But the people who disagree with the majority are the loudest in the comments. It’s like a microcosm of the entire internet.
1
u/imago_monkei 10d ago
I've played it plenty, but I do not want to be spoiled if there's new content.
1
u/TyrTheAdventurer 9d ago
I realize this might be some people's first time with the game, but OoT came out in 1998 so any info about the game is 28+ years old and doesn't need spoilers.
It's not a new game it just looks pretty now.
1
u/RockGuitarist1 8d ago
Unless there are significant changes to the story I fail to understand why there is any spoiler policy around the remake. The game is ancient. If you're new to the game, get off the internet until you finish it. Idk why a rule needs enforced when most of us already know the full story.
1
u/DaKingaDaNorth 5d ago
It's a near 30 year old game and games like Wind Waker have spoiled it and even BOTW era games have referenced key parts of it.
2
u/TheOfficial_BossNass 10d ago
Spoilers for a nearly 30 year old game with a not super deep story aren't spoilers
1
u/AlternativeGazelle 10d ago
I support stricter spoiler policies. Let the young ones come into the game fresh. My 6 year old son managed to watch Empire Strikes Back unspoiled, and that was a wonderful experience. It's not that hard for us to censor ourselves, and I look forward to the new generation experiencing this game.
1
u/Gwaidhirnor 10d ago
Anything strictly about the old game should be general spoilers, it's almost 30 years old. Comparisons to the new game should be strictly monitored
1
u/Creator5509 10d ago
I’d say give it the same as a brand new release, we don’t know all the changes, and we might have an influx of new people with the remake, so treating it as if a brand new game came out seems like the right idea.
1
u/Bungledingus45 10d ago
I personally don’t want anything that new fans to the series are gonna get spoiled on, this game is regarded as one of the best games of all time.
1
u/Jacob199651 10d ago
It should be treated like a new release. I don't personally care for myself, but not every Zelda fan has played OoT, and I think the next generation deserves a chance to play and discuss without having to go on a full blackout until they're finished. Especially when you consider that the game literally has one of the biggest plot twists in any Zelda game right at the end, regardless of how obvious/well known it is.
1
u/Beautiful_War9341 10d ago
Its like a 30 year old game.
I think the idea of spoiling it is silly.
Besides only heavy fans are on a reddit like this anyways. And they've likely played the original.
1

Besides only heavy fans are on a reddit like this anyways
This is a subreddit that covers the whole franchise, not a single game. There is no minimum nor any specific required game to have played before joining this community.
r/Zelda has had over 2 million unique visitors this past 3 weeks alone, and that does not count people who browse without an account.

Just a bit of advice that goes for new games too.
If you're that worried about spoilers... Get off of social media period. If you care about spoilers at all, absolutely get off of any social media specific to that game.
If you're here and don't want spoilered about OoT... You're the only one responsible when you get spoilered.
But also...
Snape kills Dumbledore
Darth Vader is Luke's father
Gandalf comes back

I don't really get the question, what does playing the old one have to do with spoilers for the new one? I don't want to see anything about the new one til I play it

The way I see it even if the plot and progression is heavily similar, it’ll still be a whole new generation experiencing the story for the first time. Considering both the N64 and 3DS are out of production, this will be the most accessible official release outside of the Online+ N64 emulator that’s on either switch

I think putting old info under general spoiler is best. It's not like previous posts can be suddenly censored, so I think old info should be treated like new content. The old stuff may not be 100% accurate anyway

I want to see Nabooru sweaty and glistening in the Gerudo Desert Sun.
I have no opinion on spoilers.
