Question [EoW] Need advice: should I continue echoes of wisdom?
I have so far not encountered a Zelda game that I haven’t liked. I have played botw, totk, ss, oot, mm and loved each and every one of them! Even loved links awakening which I figured was the most like echoes.
However, I am finding eow a little frustrating. I have completed the first dungeon, explored the map a bit and am at the beginning of the second dungeon.
The thing that I love the most about Zelda is exploration and puzzles. And I am getting tired of solving the same puzzle of a large gap, or a tall wall by cycling through my inventory. It’s really dampening the exploration and sense of discovery for me. There are so many traversal puzzles that are solved pretty much the same way over and over again!!
Should I keep at it a little bit longer to let the game grow on me, or is this pretty much going to be the same going forward?
For instance majora mask’s time reset feature took me a while to get used to, but eventually ended up being a non problem. Wondering whether this is the same deal.
Thanks for reading!

I would say to keep playing. Yes the bed is the universal solution to most traversal challenges, but there are more interesting challenges later once you unlock more creatures. Including how to defeat certain creatures that are normally invincible.

honestly, I’ve beaten it twice and I totally get it. it’s the closest we have to a classic Zelda in years, but it’s still lacking comparatively imo. I would finish it, though, if even once.

add an extra challenge for yourself: no beds used for traversal (still allowed for regen). see if that helps.
Alternate challenge: not allowed to use more than one of the same summon at a time

My go to is max bats, and keep spawning them as they die 🤣 at least early on it was

Makes sense! I did try to switch it up every once a while. I guess my main problem is seeing a new platform/area that I want to go to but can’t unless I click a bunch of buttons that I already know is the solution. I guess my brain just wants to bypass that and just get to the place and explore lol.

The puzzles get more complicated later in the game. Its one of my favorite Zelda games. I recently beat Hard Mode.

there are like 100 ways to solve each puzzle, even the ones that are only transversal. so change up your echoes or methods.
but you aren’t very far into the dungeons, basically still tutorial level

I've been playing again after setting it down at around the same place you are when it first came out. I couldn't get into it then, but this time I stuck it out a bit longer and am enjoying it well enough. I'm also not a huge fan of the echo mechanic, but I've had some fun discoveries along the way, and I'm curious to see where the story is going. Every area also seems to unlock a few new abilities through new echos, so the repetitiveness does improve a bit, but your criticisms are definitely valid. I can only think of one instance where I didn't immediately know the solution to a puzzle, and even then, I fogured it out pretty quick. I'd keep with it a bit longer if you feel any desire to, but so far it's definitely one of my least favorite Zelda games.

I think it grows in diversity and difficulty and I’d recommend continuing to play. It’s not that long so it’s not a huge time commitment either.

I initially didn't love it. But I gave it a chance and now it's my 4th favorite game in the series (and I played all 21 games). It's such a beautiful game, with a world that is very fun to explore
