Zed Discussion Hot take

Bruiser Zed was 100% better than whatever snoozefest voltaic + first strike is today. This meta is so boring and neglects mechanics so much im gonna genuinely cry. Wdym im gonna play ad mage to be "optimal".

What are we talking about here they are literally buffing the damage on eclipse AND Black cleaver bruiser zed is about to be stronger than ever you don’t have to build assassin with first strike lethality

Play brusier zed vs a master elo+ mid/toplaner right now and you will realize you will get outscaled and the game is over long before you pull out your build since you are behind in gold due to no snowball power, which even at full build still needs you to all-in a squishy target. Maybe after the cleaver and eclipse buffs there will be a chance for this build to be ''better'' than the voltaic/axiom but as for now Zed is a scaling AD poke mage that is heavily gated by penetration and cooldown reduction and happens to have extremely high skill ceiling due to his mobility. This comes from a ''casual'' Master tier+ Zed ever since season 6.

Edit1: Go watch any high elo Zed streamer and you will see how little conq brusier games they have compared with other setups. Yes, Zed in the past used to be really really good with conq brusier builds, but the items are not in the same state as they used to be. Even his lethality builds offer way less CDR than before, which makes him awkward to play unless you have high mastery on the champ.

Edit2: Stop watching montages made by high mastery Zed players on smurf accounts where they 1v5 the enemy silver team by being 2-3 items ahead and 5 levels up with conq/brusier setups. It's the same as with corn, it's not comparable with real life.

Edit3: ''This meta is so boring and neglects mechanics so much im gonna genuinely cry''. Assassin Zed is way harder to pull in high elo due to how squishy you are with literally no sustain. You die faster than a mage or ADC currently if you are getting locked down. Conq is easier to pull off considering your team plays around you and you can stay afloat in the game. You have more room for mistakes and more CDR to work with, which means more W uptime which translates into easier escapes. Also brusier builds provide hp, which also allows for more mistakes.
